Hey spirits! Big for a SS video huh? Yeah I didn't think it'd be 17 minutes but thats fine. Just want to quickly give a few disclaimers going in or after the video. All the ranking footage was taken from the channel Tennyson Forever who compiled all the appearances of the aliens in all 3 shows years ago. Which definitely made it easier instead of having to scrape through wikis looking through 6 seasons of OV just for 20 aliens who's appearance varies each season. Also that I do not hate any of the redesigns! On their own Derrick made them unique, cool looking and different from the two other shows. Something AF & UA did to better separate the classic aliens that returned. But in honesty I much prefer his OV original aliens like Crashhopper, Bloxx, feedback, etc. I judged them purely as redesigns from my own likeness of designs. Hence why #20 is, well, #20. Anyways I have a SS video on Ultraman rising and a 20+ minute video on megmaind rules S2 video lined up so stay tuned for that. With all that said and done, enjoy! Edit: So to give a heads up to new viewers or ones returning to this video again, I am doing a review of the reboot. I’ve watched season 1, part way into season 2 and quite frankly I won’t spoil my thoughts just yet. I will add a ranking in the start but then afterwards you’ll hear my thoughts on the show itself that aren’t compared to the original as much. I’m giving the show a chance.
TBH the best thing to come out of the Reboot is Shock Rock which is saying a lot since almost everything else sux. He looks cool with unique and thought out powers, if Prime Ben unlocked him I would be happy.
My problem with Snare-Oh is that in the original he's meant to be an alien who just happens to look like a mummy, but his Omniverse redesign is straight up just a mummy.
I headcanon The Reason Goop's Anti gravity Saucer has The Omnitrix is because what happened in The Primus Episode in Ben 10 Alien Force. Azmuth sees how The Omnitrix can be easily removed while Wearer is Goop and made moves with The Omniverse Omnitrix to fix that.
Disagree on Ultimate Spidermonkey. The UAF version is literally just a gorilla on stilts. Even as a kid I found that pretty underwhelming. Omniverse isn't a huge stepup, but it blended the arachnid and simian element alot better. The six arms and barbed limbs make this one look less like a typical spider and more like a fat tarantula. Plus, whenever this design splits its mouth open, it becomes downright terrifying, which is the kind of feel they should've aimed for with every Ultimate imo.
Thats exactly my problem with Ult Spidermonkeys design in OV. It really is trash to me, because it looks just like a regular gorilla but with 2 extra arms… I like the Stilts on the Original because they were Spiderlegs. The only thing I like about Ult Spidermonkey OV is his mouth splitting, other than that, I don’t like him allat much
I enjoy big chill's design for being a mothman reference, but the older one is way better for him. Swampfire's could have worked for another of his species maybe? Or maybe the could have darkened up the green. The reboot did cook with humungousaur's design though.
Jetray looks the exact same in the reboot as he does in Alien Force. That’s actually a criticism I’ve seen about his design there, that he looks way taller than everyone else because he’s still the same proportions while everything else is weirdly shrunk.
His body might be the same but his reboot colours blend in poorly to me. Don’t get me wrong, the orange could work well but they give him a less saturated red for skin. The darker red made the yellow pop out and the same could’ve been for the orange addition
I never said it looked bad, I just don’t think it’s fit for what his design originally was. His design is really cool looking but it’s just a werewolf in comparison
I don’t mind his head or fur shape such as the spiked curled hair, but to me it makes him look like much older than a teenager. Especially with how his pattern colour look like old streaks in the hair which would be better suited for maybe Ben 10k or an old variant. Besides that he’s just paler and kept the design did the other parts of his design outside what’s connected to the OV watch for Spidermonkey.
I think the white pattern on his fur makes him look like an old man, and I don't like his face at all. Also I think his harness thing looks stupid, not every alien needs some form of clothing IMO, some of them just look better naked
Im glad that people like spidermonkey. Im not one of those people, I just think he's plain, he does have some cool moments. And the ultimate form is one of the better ones.
holy shit, i was NOT expecting to see you on my home feed dude XD i just saw this vid and thought, hang on that art style looks so familiar??? idk if you'll remember me, but we did an art trade a few years back, or a comm? i don't remember it was so long ago XD
Funny coincidence lol. I had to look at your Twitter to remember but-No yeah you drew my lava lamp character, Hope in like 2020 when I was struggling to design her! I’ve changed her over the years but the arms, face, legs and colours is what stuck since the drawing you made. I’m surprised you recognise the style with how unrecognisable it is to me x)
I like big chill have a bigger body because when he Close he kinda look like the grim reaper but the face and stuff doesnt do him any good for this type of design
YES I want to see what you have to say about Reboot, and the movie turned out well, keep it up. I agree 100% about WaterHazard, it was my top 1 from UF
@@Demolisher-40-556 Tail is an absolutely lovely note does help that humongous are always shown degenerate shockwaves generation in the old series, but now with this, it makes him all the more useful and combative in different scenarios without having to remember his size alteration power, which writers forgot about all the time.
Just rambling some of my takes into the void here, some redesigns I'd add to the 'worst' list are Arctiguana (for looking less nimble/dextrous, and for being the ONLY 16yo transformation to be dressed in black/white rather than black/green) and Upchuck (specifically Perk as he's more fleshy and less gooey, and I prefer him clothed to naked - even the 11yo design now has his feet out). For the 'best' list, I'd go with Four Arms (specifically relative to his design in UA, which isn't BAD but I prefer the moustache to the ponytail), Brainstorm (I like his new proportions better, and the green outfit/electricity works better with his carapace/brain imo), and AmpFibian (his limbs being interchangeably arms or legs, his new Omnitrix placement, and his crackly pattern... I don't think I like it more than his original, but it's a redesign that does something different without ruining the character). As for your opinions: -Swampfire: I do like how DJW based the blossomed form off of Tom Perkins' concept art, but as a redesign it was too much too late. -Big Chill: it's obvious how bat-like he became, so I wish that he could swap OV proportions with Whampire - would improve them both! -Blitzwolfer: from memory, his original series design has tendrils that LOOK like fur, so it's a shame that OV did away with the nuance. -Upgrade: UAF making the species entirely green was a shame. Wholly agreed that the issue with the 'trix eye is restricting expressions. -Goop: My only complaint about him in OV is that he's less... fluid? I guess? (btw I strongly prefer his watch on his Projector over his chest) -Ghostfreak: I'm super nostalgia for the OG, but I rate the redesign just as highly - he almost feels like a different alien (in a good way)! -Wildvine: ...never thought about it before, but YEAH,, he looked SO much better originally, despite not changing that much. -NRG: agreed that the suit got an upgrade, hard disagree on the core form looking lame (no reason, I'm just a fan). -Lodestar: wouldn't personally call him bad, but it's really hard to say that it's an improvement. -Cannonbolt: sometimes his hands looks concave instead of convex which isn't appealing, but otherwise fine. -Snare-Oh: his face looks less alien and his watch should really be on his head, not a belt (since he can unravel fully),,, still rate it tho. -Ripjaws: I don't think it's controversial,, I like how dorky he can look in classic but I think my favourite design of his is OV's. -Way Big: agreed that they met a perfect middle between OS and UAF. -Juryrigg and Eatle: amusingly, it was actually DJW himself who designed them in UA! Dunno if he was the re-designer though... -Shocksquatch: I'm admittedly fond of his appearance in the crossover, but OV's is nonetheless a stellar take. -Albedo: his Humungousaur is sick, his Spidermonkey is better than UA's imo, and Arctiguana/Gravattack (not Rath) are p e a k. -Water Hazard: the increased detail, eye count, and texture REALLY make him feel like a classic alien, which is quite high praise! As an aside, I just realised the numbers are colour coded! Impeccable attention to detail :)

No doubt the reboot has some appeal and good parts to it that’s it does better. I hate the reboot with a passion because it’s just made as one big toy show. I’ve caught a few clips and episodes here and there but anytime i saw them add something new it was just to market a toy without giving it any of the original charm classic Ben had One of which was Kevin who built a nemitrix in his garage, or that alien x special. @@Exspiritmentalthen you are a hypocrite and straight up wrong. God so called fans like you are why franchises die and writers end up not liking their Fandoms. The reboot does have a story you moron. For example every episode involving vilgax is a constant story that isn't hard to follow although with the way you behave you would probably struggle.
My main issue is it just panders to toys (Wildvine and stinkfly specifically) and doesn't really try to have a coherently good story. I'll watch the show someday but antitrix kevin and Ben getting handed a lot of technologies to enhance whats supposed to be a prototype watch is sketchy
@@Exspiritmental well, I ain’t gonna argue with you, it’s just telling you why there is redesigns. You know kids nowadays, there more “Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww” and so on. And man of action just went “ok kids are saying ewww to things that aren’t even gross so, redesign the last two. Wildvine and Stinkfly.” And the crew are like “here are the designs” The designs: 💀☠️
@@Exspiritmental There is a coherent good story, omni-enhanced is a bug, not a normal function of the omnitrix. Omni-kix was designed a long side the omnitrix itself, so it would be a prototype as well so it does make sense. Oh and vilgax might be partly responsible for it. This is why you watch a show before opening your mouth.
@@lunakingsley.7247 I have now and yeah it is still very toy based. I’ll give them this, they handled their gimmicks better than the ultimate aliens by having at least 1 upgrade per episode depending on the season. As for the story it’s still crap as it is for now Ben got it. Omni enhanced, while my favourite out of the bunch and the only one I’ll say Ben earned, still removed upgrade after season 1 just to add glitch who did jack shit up till the film. While the Omni kix required a key that came with the omnitrix, which for some reason has Breaker one nine looking for it, a completely new villain who doesn’t explain who hired him in his 2 appearances in the last season.
Disagree strongly on shocksquach. The original feels bigger and heftier, it has weight and a nice stocky build that feels very classic ben 10 in its deliberate ugliness. OV shocksquach feels so boring. Lets make a guy, but paint him yellow and staple a lightning bolt to his face, in case we forget he's an electric alien. And lets give him the same muscle build as half the aliens in the show. Hes so boring and forgettable now.
Never understood the unbridled rage for the reboot when it does a better job at respecting the classic series than Omniverse pretending they are trying to return to the classic series.
The reboot will probably have some things I like but overall it comes off as just being made specifically for toys such as changing wildvine and stinkfly instead of finding a work around that didn’t make them basic 2 legged aliens. Omniverse doesn’t try to return to the classic series and I like that as it acts more as a continuation and even giving a reason why Ben gave up the omnitrix in the first place in AF. Such as adding Feedback or having a few stories where after the summer Ben would still be doing some stuff with his omnitrix I appreciate the reboot did add new aliens but it comes off as lazy and not just with its animation.
@@Exspiritmentalnews flash all the series where toy heavy. Omniverse was trying to be like classic even the writers said as much, multiple times. The only one being lazy here is you mister the reboot doesn't have a story even though it clearly has a story.
@@lunakingsley.7247 I’m aware they were. I mean it’s literally a watch in someone’s wrist of course kids are going to want one and play with the aliens. But also it has a story in the last episodes of every season except S4 (and s3 who has a finale…in the middle of the season…?) because the show is episodic with returning villains remembering the experiences. And even then, besides S3 they set up the Fultrums who are *world conquering aliens*, with the High Override having never been seen before, or after. And the same thing was with Vilgax only the reveal on how he got so old was revealed in the film years later, while after s2 he is just completely gone in that time. While forever knights team and his presence was actually set up through the season at random points which I will applaud the writers After watching the reboot I can’t say I hate it, but how it handles everything sucks. I wanted to see more of the high override, Yuri as Vilgax, more episodes with forever knight. But i see toys or that it wasn’t like classic wasn’t even the biggest problem
I will gladly insult the artists that ruined so many good UAF designs. I'm currently watching Omniverse again and I do like the show, but I can't stand most of the designs in this show.
My list of ruined designs: 1. Echo Echo 2. Eatle 3. Chromastone 4. Four Arms 5. Ampfibian 6. Big Chill 7. Brainstorm 8. Spider Monkey 9. Stinkfly 10. Goop 11. Upgrade 12. Wrath (Lucha) Then there's all the new designs that were absolutely good awful, like who the fuck thought these were good? I can't explain how much I hate Ball Weevil, like I despise that it even exists. Crashhopper I want to like, his powers are really cool, but I can't help but be disappointed every time he's on screen. Then we have aliens like Blocks who I originally really liked, but I like him less and less the more I rewatch the show. He's so freaking fragile and there's something about how oversaturated his design is that makes him nauseating to look at. Blocks really could have been cooler, but him not being strong enough to do anything is extremely disappointing. My problem with the rest of the designs comes down to the art style itself, I just really don't like it and I especially don't like any of the designs with green clothing. The overuse of the green in every design just pisses me off and removes the originality each design had or could have. The only ones that are halfway decent are 1. Feedback 2. Gravattack 3. KickinHawk 4. Gutrot 5. Juryrig

What’s even wrong with reboot
Still a good mix of the two designs would probably be better. I can’t get over how it’s just a basic coloured Sasquatch with conduits along its body.
Such as adding Feedback or having a few stories where after the summer Ben would still be doing some stuff with his omnitrix
I appreciate the reboot did add new aliens but it comes off as lazy and not just with its animation.
While forever knights team and his presence was actually set up through the season at random points which I will applaud the writers
After watching the reboot I can’t say I hate it, but how it handles everything sucks. I wanted to see more of the high override, Yuri as Vilgax, more episodes with forever knight. But i see toys or that it wasn’t like classic wasn’t even the biggest problem
I love green swampfire ov and hate af swampfire
I HATE REBOOT LIKE WHAT DID THEY DO TO MY BOI UPGRADE
hes just purple? they didn't change him that much. Unfair reboot hate?
@@RVERSEMOTION sooo ik they trynna split the color pallet is diffrent but he is supossed to be green man bc the omnitrix
I will gladly insult the artists that ruined so many good UAF designs. I'm currently watching Omniverse again and I do like the show, but I can't stand most of the designs in this show.
My list of ruined designs:
1. Echo Echo
2. Eatle
3. Chromastone
4. Four Arms
5. Ampfibian
6. Big Chill
7. Brainstorm
8. Spider Monkey
9. Stinkfly
10. Goop
11. Upgrade
12. Wrath (Lucha)
Then there's all the new designs that were absolutely good awful, like who the fuck thought these were good?
The only ones that are halfway decent are
1. Feedback
2. Gravattack
3. KickinHawk
4. Gutrot
5. Juryrig
CN literally ruin Ben 10
Big chill sucks
