    Hey all!
This was a video I had thought about making I think last year and was going to go through each episode and then the downfall. But I decided to just crack down on what Lego did to meddle with Hero factory being a more memorable IP if it wasn't held back by going through its problems.
Anyways if you guys want me to discuss any older IP's that were fumbled I'd probably be up to talk about it. But enjoy!

I love both Bionicle and HF, but man, HUGE hot take, I’d honestly prefer having Hero Factory return over Bionicle. I’d prefer another theme getting another chance than Bonkle getting another.. and fumbling the ball for a second time.

With the quality of this video I expected it to have at least a couple thousand views. Can't believe you don't have more subscribers.

It’s been 12 years, and I still really want to see the rest of Breakout; with the other heroes and villains getting to fight.
They literally have a villain called Core Hunter, and I gotta see how that ends.

There is actually an official Lego Hero Factory Book called The Doom Box written by Greg Farshtey (who you may know as the main writer for Bionicle) which features Core Hunter as the main villain. I recommend it :)

Hero factory content in 2024 words cannot speak how much I am living right now

What I think would've been better for Invasion from Below was if the beasts were the same size as the Heroes, like Brain Attack and Savage Planet before but different, just a bit bigger, the beasts are still territorial animals, and they all have distinct features that makes them different from each other. Even better, those creatures are the ones that have Anti-Quazas, which would explain just a little bit why Black Phantom has any to begin with.
I think the reason for the beasts to left peacefully, was for Hero Factory's finale is to be allies. So when the mystery villain comes with an army, the beasts are there to help out the heroes too. I think the idea of creatures being the same size was already getting old since Brain Attack and Savage Planet already done those, but admittedly the creatures were being controlled against their will.
As JangBricks said for his Furno review, which I would agree with, I want to see them in an underwater journey. Sure Lego has already done an underwater journey with Atlantis, but revisiting ideas isn't even a bad idea if it's gonna A) further development the story and B) have newer designs for each character and villains. There is not such thing as a bad idea, it's the execution that makes people not like it.
If it's gonna be another, "let's discover Atlantis" story then that's not telling a story, that's copying someone else's story. It can be Atlantis is just at the bottom of the ocean and everyone knows that, but it's populated by underwater creatures, and there are creatures that are discovering Anti-Quazas that are causing them to go feral and savage. Sure it's gonna be another Animals vs Heroes theme AGAIN, only this time the Animals are permanently effected by the Anti-Quaza so the heroes must find out how to cure them.
    But that's just me.

Invasion from Below is so sad to me because I genuinely think parts of it were really cool, at least personally. The idea of taking these characters that we've always seen on this large scale (be Lego standards at least) and shrinking them down, making the antagonists feel that much bigger like kaijus is an awesome concept. I do actually like a lot of the mech designs and the beast designs too. It's just such a shame that the special for it was done so poorly. It could've been so much different, so much better, with relatively small tweaks. Just hurts that we got this instead.

IIRC Lego's plan with hero factory (And Bionicle G2) was to fix the "mistakes" of Bionicle G1, This why Hero factory has the "we build heroes" tag line, They wanted kids to mix and match make their own characters, unlike in Bionicle G1 where Character's a very distinct (although that never stop people from making there own characters anyway)
A bigger Mistake Lego thought they Make with Bionicle was the lore. They believed that the lore was too complicated and hard for new people to get into, which why hero factory's stories and lore are massively toned down and why Bionicle Generation 2's lore was as shallow as a single rain drop. But of course Ninjago, that has been running for over a decade at this point, proves that complex lore is not a barrier.
But of course these companies always learn the wrong lesions. IMO Bionicle Lore/story being "too complicated" wasn't the issue, the Issue was how Inaccessible the lore/story of bionicle G1 was. the story was Split across books, comics, movies, web animations, etc. and by 2007-8 the starting points were out of print.
Hero factory had the animated episodes to keep everything concise and didn't have to fear splintering off like that, Again Ninjago is the prime example of this. Almost all of ninjago is on Netflix, easy starting point. Even before then Dvd's and that would be an easy start, and Ninjago still has side stories told through comics and books and that.
But Lego seemed to fear making the story to complicated, so they made it too simple. Like they just abandoned the Villain factory setup.
But the potential was there.... Imagine a full on war between the hero and villain factory....

Maybe in another universe hero factory was left alone by Lego to be known as either one of Lego’s rememberable technic returns, or one of their underrated IP’s that had stories you learned to appreciate more as you got older. But alas

I loved growing up in the 2010s
This Era of Lego had so many great themes trying to replace ninjago etc. and they always fumbled it
I loved themes like Chima and Nexo Knights as a kid, but unfortunately all of them ended quickly

Can’t agree more. I love the idea of beasts way bigger than the heroes but eventually coming to good terms. But its execution was just so cheap and rushed

It’s funny that I “grew up” from Ninjago yet it still exists, while Bionicle and Hero Factory forever remain in my “childish” brain yet it’s no longer in stores…

For the past couple of years, I have spent almost all of my money exclusively on hero factory figures, and I get absolutely ecstatic whenever I see a hero factory related video on my feed, especially one as good as this thank you.

Fr. They fumbled the end of Bionicle, but the designers saved it with the budget they were given.
    They fumbled HF
    Then they fumbled Bionicle Reboot.
    Lego hates technic themes confirmed

    Nice video, subbed ;)
Bcs of my age and where i live, i got hooked to the Bionicle franchise whilst toy stores were starting to sell G1 Hero Factory, basically too late
Bionicle (the OG one, not the reboot) was still better with the story and lore, but i grew up with Hero Factory, so I will always love both of them
