- We'll take a closer look at the band's performance, the crowd's reaction, and the energy that fills Wembley Arena. From the intricate melodies to the powerful lyrics, I'll share my thoughts on how 'Élan' and its live rendition reflect the pursuit of excellence and the joy of living life to the fullest
I have been listening to music (not pop music, but 'different', quality, and imaginative music) since 1967, that is 57 years, and I have as you can imagine heard hundreds of artists and bands in every genre. In all that time I have been searching for 'my band' a style and quality of music that transcends everything I have heard before. That band is Nightwish.
I just love when crowd gets to sing along 🤘😎🤘.
NWSU/FloorFan.
👍👍An awesome live performance by Nightwish!! 🖖❤
I think you mean 'Yet another awesome live performance by Nightwish!!' :)
Their music videos are great. Their live is even better, because they can replicate perfect sound while also having an audience who appreciates skill, show and interaction.
Great reaction, Nightwish are always better live, greetings from the Uk🇬🇧
Humongous Nightwish fan here in Floorida, USA.
Nightwish don't need videos, their live stuff is perfect! How many other bands can you say that about
Tbh I can't think of any right now at all... they are truly from another realm
For me Nightwish is one of the few bands that are better live than in studio . I always listen to the live versions of their music.
Last year was the end of the tour supporting the album "Human / Nature" . This year will come out a new album , but they annouced that there will not be a tour supporting it. My theory is that they will do a tour for the 30th anniversary of the band in 2026 .
Their videos are also great. You should include a few of them.
Noise and Shoemaker are a couple of greatusic videos.
Some other great videos are 2005 "Crusader version" for the "Sleeping Sun" th-cam.com/video/_yMCSDbwaCo/w-d-xo.html the saddest song in TH-cam "The Crow, The Owl and The Dove" th-cam.com/video/iyY5QMf41dk/w-d-xo.html and "All The Works Of Nature Which Adorn The World" th-cam.com/video/RnOdQ5WNZJk/w-d-xo.html
@@TK8866275 I Concur. Those are all great songs and videos that deserve a watch.
Sadly, not going to tour for quite a while, I saw their last two shows in Finland last summer, Kitee and Vaasa, both were awesome with Floor performing while heavily pregnant. Nightwish Army, Scottish highland Divison.
Nightwish Army New Zealand trench division reporting in. Mmm live verse music video?. I believe they're both good in there own ways it's just live you feel more with the atmosphere and crowds plus how good the band sounds live compared to other bands. The song how's the heart there is a live version Acoustic with just Floor and Troy from planet rock that sounds really Amazballs!.
Saying Hi from a little coastal town called Leigh-on-Sea just outside London in the UK. There is no right or wrong, best or worst, video to react to. Each are different and good and unique in their own way. Just listen to and love the music that Nightwish share wih us.
Marko and his 2nd heart beat bass line. That guy is a thumper on the bass. Wembley is a fun concert. Tempere Finland is freom the same tour with an added jewel, Marko does a song "The Islander" that is - WHOA
Floor is just born for this. Love it so much ❤
Greetings from Utah 🤘. I agree that if you have to choose one, a live version is the way to go. The chemistry of the band with each other and with the audience is something you can't get from a music video. However, that doesn't mean you should skip their music videos altogether.
Their music videos often give some insight in the meaning of the song. Their latest album, Human :||: Nature, has a music video for the song "Noise" that is a must-see. There are also lyric videos for all the other songs on the "Human" part of the album that are way more than throwing words on the screen. They are works of art in their own right. It would be a shame for you not experience them. There is also a fan-made-but-nightwish-approved video for the entire "Nature" part of the album, "All the Works of Nature that Adorn the World", that is amazing. Highly recommended, even though it is about half an hour long.
They seem to be very deliberate and intentional in what songs they choose to make full music videos from. The song "Elan" was the only single for its album, so it makes sense that they would make a video for it. But the lyrics of the song and the symbolism in the video are important to the overall theme of the album. There is another video for the title track "Endless Forms Must Beautiful" that is a "lyric" video but also shows the band playing in their on-stage outfits (at least for Floor). The lyrics in that song are also important to the theme of the album. I suspect that if time and money would allow it, there would be full music videos for every song on an album, as every song is a work of art.
OTOH, the lyrics of Nightwish songs are often intentionally deep and subjective in their meaning, so the lack of a video that steers a person to the meaning that inspired Tuomas (keyboardist and creator of 95% of the songs) when writing it is significant as well.
Yes, the live versions are great ! For me, the facial expressions and gestures of Floor add so much to the emotions.
Greetings from France.
They have a new album coming out later this year, but have already announced they are not going to tour for it. You can't go wrong with anything live by them, especially from 2013 until the present, while Floor has been the singer.
Very beautiful
this song has really nice and very cool flows its composition
IMO one of the most beautiful songs they do.
Nightwish Army - Southern California Division. I saw them at the Wiltern on their last US Tour, and there's simply nothing like it. Missing the flames due to the venue, but it was true magic. My comment at the end of the show was, "Now I can die happy!" This particular video is very mild and quiet compared to most, but I've never seen another band that feeds off the energy of their audience better than Nightwish. Their videos usually have a stastement to make, and they are well worth watching ... especially "Noise" and "Shoemaker" ... but live performances is where the dials are turned up to 11, and the nuances are saved for the studio. I'm glad you have found the greatest composer of my long lifetime and the greatest band on the planet.
It has a nice music video as do many but so many earlier ones don't feature Floor which is why so many ask for live. Probably one of the few music videos is NOISE from the latest album as it has such meaning.
NW Army, DFW, Texas, new subscriber here. The live shows are the best, but there are two videos you should do, then of course the live later, or twosome package. First,Noise, because you won't understand the song, it's deep. Second is Shoemaker, because the video is beautiful with Floor's voice rising through the unovrrse. It's awesome. Btw, this Wembley concert is my favorite, because of the songs...especially Greatest Show on Earth!
👍👍👍👍👋👋👋👋🤘🤘🤘
Great reaction ❤❤❤

I would like to translate this into Finnish: Elän = (I live) . Song tells how you do your life
Not touring this year, however they have a new album to be released this year, 2024
Generally Nightwish songs must be heard live, except this one. I like the clip that goes with this song.
I would like to advertise “Slow, Love, Slow” live in Fort Lauderdale, October 13, 2012. This is not an official live video, but still an emotional video for me because it was one of Floor's first concerts with Nightwish. Less than two weeks after she had to jump on the running Nightwish train, which started for her on October 1, 2012. th-cam.com/video/mSzEJ855YFg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gwK0ISNcGDUHHNvB
They were touring in 2023, but taking a break from touring. I am hoping for 2025, but they are suppose to drop a new album this year, actually could be any time, they just completed mastering it.
New record coming out in the fall. No tour for now, but they will be back. Floor has a new born to ween and care for this year. Although she does have a few solo shows scheduled for the upcoming spring and summer.
They are just finishing producing their new album, then will be the release, promotion stuff.
Won't be a tour until at least 2026 on probably.
Good one.
Enjoyed your reaction. Yes Nightiwsh live is usually the better way to go although there are some songs from Human Nature that I really appreciate the videos for them. The album dropped right before the pandemic and because they couldn't tour in support of the album they released high quality lyric videos for all of the songs on Disc 1 except for Noise which they had already released a music video for. I love the music video for Noise because it really helps explain the story and commentary from the band that is in the lyrics. I also love the lyric videos for Tribal and Shoemaker. Tribal so that you can see the skeleton dance (it only flash's on the big video screen momentarily during the live shows) and Shoemaker because the videos of Earth from the moon and of the Earth and Sun disappearing below the limb of the moon at the end is so epic and a perfect fit for Floor's epic vocals. Both songs live are also amazing, especially Shoemaker, which is an incredibly difficult song to sing. (Floor is allegedly said. where am I supposed to breathe, when she first saw the vocal melodies Tuomas had written). Shoemaker is one of my top 5 Nightwish songs. A tribute to Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founder's of planetary science. He is the only human who a portion of his remains have been interred on another celestial body. In a tribute to him NASA included a small portion of his ashes in the Lunar Prospector mission and sent them into the crater that is named for him on the moon. There is a spoken word section in the song that is a quote from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet that Shoemaker's wife had inscribed on the capsule that held his ashes. I would also encourage you to checkout Nightwish songs that haven't been performed live or don't have good videos for them. Some of my favorites are Forever Yours (Tarja), Meadows of Heaven and The Crow, The Owl, and the Dove (Anette), Music (Floor), and Endlessness (Marko).
Might wanna listen to some songs that are sung by Tarja. 😊
I've heard this song a few times (to be fair a few were the video) but only just notice Troy is singing with Floor! I thought he was joining in the "AAAHs" with Marko (it sounds layered but that might just be the quality of Marko's timbre) but Troy is actually singing the words of the chorus with Floor! His voice is very soft and most of it isn't harmony, its the same notes, albeit in a lower
pitch) but I saw him mouthing the words into the microphone. When I realised what to listen for I could hear him. Shame on me! But it's nice to notice new things.
Generally, I prefer the band's live performances. My favourites include:
Last Ride of the Day - th-cam.com/video/kAFxLXqP8UM/w-d-xo.html
The Greatest Show on Earth - th-cam.com/video/qrMwxe2ya5E/w-d-xo.html

@Your Favorite Reaction Channel: Sadly, no, Nightwish isn't touring. After Marko left in 2023, with everything that happened with Floor dealing with cancer and the birth of her second child, the band has decided, despite allegedly releasing their next album this year, they are not going to tour to promote it.
That being said, you have yet to react to two of the three best songs Nightwish has ever performed:
1) Poet and the Pendulum, Wembley 2016
2) The Greatest Show On Earth, Tampere 2015
Both of these songs, and their performances, are some of the greatest compositions of any genre I've ever heard. I once gave Tuomas the nickname "The Metal Mozart," because he is on that level of an excellent, classical music master who is thought to be a legend, like Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Tschaikovsky, or Chopin. I would not have given Tuomas that nickname if I did not think him worthy of it, despite him probably saying he isn't worthy of it.
So you decide: Is he, Tuomas, worthy of the nickname "The Metal Mozart"? Watch either performance I've recommended, and you be the judge.
Marko left Nightwish in January 2021
@@ioaKouts : Technically, Marko left in December 2020. He announced his departure in January 2021.
And, I didn't know this until today, but there was a couple of days where Tuomas thought Nightwish was done when Marko left. But band management convinced Tuomas to keep the band going. Which is a good sign that Nightwish has a helluva management team to help them.
What "allegedly releasing"??!! They just released information, that the next Album is recorded, mixed and mastered and ready for the production/release/marketing phase taking up 6-8 months and then in the last Quarter of this year 2024 the whole 10th Album is released in all forms of Music listening (LP, DVD, Streaming platforms etc.). Before the whole Album release they will release 2-3 songs and their videos from the Album before the whole Album release, so stay tuned for them. The Touring is communicated to be on hold for 2-3 years, but like one comment said the year 2016 is their 30th year as a Nightwish, so probably some kind of Live performances or Touring could be expected - only time will tell for sure, but the new Album is coming this year! And your claim that you have given Tuomas the nickname of "Metal Mozart" is ludicrous, it was used already here in Finland in the early days of 1997-1999!
@@kimmikke_ : I gave that nickname to him in the early days of reaction videos. The years you speak of, Nightwish was literally just getting started, and hadn't really even released much music yet. Thus, to give him that nickname in Finland, when it wasn't warranted, makes no sense. Tuomas had not made any of the music that gave him the merit to even come up with that nickname during those early days. Maybe the nickname could have had merit because of Ghost Love Score, but I doubt it. The potential is there, but every artist, composer, author, etc. never thinks they could be that good, until they are. Tuomas had not written anything that essentially showed the fulfillment of that potential at that time. Has he fulfilled that potential now? Most certainly. It's why I have said, multiple times, that a century from now, Tuomas will be studied like the masters of old, like Bach, Beethoven, Tschaikovsky, Chopin, and yes, Mozart.
That being said, I called Tuomas that way back in 2016, in the very early days of online music reactions, simply because of the classical aspects of symphonic metal. I remember writing that after hearing Poet and the Pendulum, after it was performed at Wembley, during the EFMB tour.
So yes, I did give him that nickname online. Whether it existed way back in the late 1990s, doesn't matter, because music reactions didn't exist at the time, despite the internet existing.
Besides, me doing so in 2016, being completely independent of someone in Finland back in the 1990s is a manifestation of the "infinite number of monkeys" axiom.
As for the current album, after what transpired for COVID, I don't take anything as truth until it actually happens. Which is why I used the word "allegedly." Because at this point, nothing in the future is certain anymore. A band like Nightwish can say, "This is our plan for the future," but until it happens, I'm naturally skeptical. So this means until the album is out, the actual release time is up in the air until that point, at which time it becomes certain. It can be ready to be released, being finished and whatnot, but an album, like many things, either is or is not. An album is either released, or is not released. As here, the album is not released, unless you know something I do not.
As for touring, I do know that Tuomas has made it public that for this next album, there will be no tour to promote it. Which means, given past tours, that no tour is likely to happen until 2026 at the earliest, or more likely, 2027.
@@isaiahwelch8066 I understand now, that I understood the “I would not have given Tuomas that nickname..” Differently than you meant it - I thought you meant you were the first one to discover and give that nickname to Tuomas. I first heard of the Metal Mozart in early years in a first few concerts, whether it was originally based on some interview where he said something of admiring the classical composers or whether it was based on the band having classical singer and him being the composer I do not know, but there it was said out loud. Also it does not take a genius or even knowledgeable person to put together Metal (the genre the band were associated with) and Mozart, since they rime with a starting letter of M. Since then I have heard multiple times it in concerts or gatherings from the early years up to like 2015 World Tour and after that, so really no one owes “patent rights” on that invention. Now with more explanation I do understand you meant that you in your means of discovering Nightwish in the far outer world (like USA, UK, Australia or whatever you live in) and through Internet and Reaction videos did this same invention without the knowledge of other “Apes” doings in Finland (heh, I see what you did there ;) - fair enough :) The Album and Touring and almost everything being uncertain in the light of Covid years, just is a very pessimistic and self pity way of looking at the future. Like it has always being a fact in Life that nothing is certain, you could die tomorrow or today, but that is not a reason starting claiming everything is uncertain, since otherwise following that perspective you cannot even agreed to a Meeting in your work (what’s the point because it is not sure I am alive then..) or agreed a Doctors appointment 3 days from now. I do not know how you do in your culture, but Finns like Tuomas do not say something into the public unless they really do everything in their power to keep it (it is considered a national and personal pride to keep your word whatever happens within your means) - unless there is a world’s end or pandemia or all the money available to do it ran out or similar bigger than a band issue happens, but then that is the same with any bands Album or Symphony Orchestra Album or a Book etc. to be published, so my question is why to even go there in your thinking or attitude - it is Life man, deal with it. Saying that still I do understand why you said it and that is just another opinion of things like this is mine and were are not more in the right than the other person, so heads up, trust it, the Album will come as promised (“build it and they will come”). Cheers and have a good time until then.
Your voice doesn´t have any volume during music so it is impossible to hear, but I try read your lips...
