@@chrismarple Noble 6 was already a natural born killer before he became a Spartan III. He was an ONI Headhunter. He was an aberration. The Spartan IIIs were used much like the Covenant used Atriox's clan. Sacrificial pawns to achieve the impossible. They were (almost) all killed, 300 at a time. The "second wave" that Noble team were a part of, were members of the UNSC chosen to become Spartan IIIs specifically for their abilities and physiological compatibility with the augmentations.
The Spartan IIs weren't even made for fighting covenant and they were much better at it. 5 Spartan IIs could kill endless amounts of infantry, literally. They couldnt be beaten on the ground.
It was already said he died, but basically the Rookie was taken hostage by a rebel cell and caused a stand off between rebels and the UNSC in a Capitol building. One of his fireteam eventually tried to charge in for the save, but this instead provoked the leader of the rebels to off the Rookie with a bullet to the head, a act that was very quickly avenged. He would have likely been made a SPARTAN 4 had he survived this encounter... assuming he passed a psyche I imagine. It seems he has hypersomia due to him sleeping anytime hes not on duty... which might be a symptom of PTSD.
One of my all time favorite moments playing halo was when me and my friends were playing Halo 3 on legendary. We had IWHBYD and famine on, and I remember taking down a charging brute with the last few shots from my magnum. All we heard after that was a marine yell "did you see that shit?" It was easily one of my favorite experiences playing any video game.
its sad because they couldve become a good minor group that u would come across omce in a while....u know they are bullfrogs but never know their names
Shitan 4's are just a waist of time for 343 to have tried to push onto us now with halo infinite they are almost completely back tracking and retconning halo 5
I'd honestly be open to something like odst happening again, but just with a more well rounded and effective approach rather than a half hearted loose attempt, I'd want something that takes what the original had that made It good and make it better
Yeah it’s cause 343 wanted to try and create a marketable product. Reach did it right. Because Spartan 3’s we’re super expendable. Bread for suicide missions to produce more value than the cost of making them. So reach had the mix of feeling like a Spartan, but also feeling less important, like you do in ODST. ODST was great.albeit the stamina-shield thing is a bit weird. It could have been a bit cooler if instead of combat situations like chief has.taking on squads solo, it was more like reach where you can issue some basic commands to other marines. Even ODST are physically weaker than elites and brutes. Most of them cousknt just solo dozens of enemies like the protagonists do. More tactical gameplay would have been cool. Even more utilisation of the silenced smg and pistol. And maybe even more night stealth, with the night vision. Still an amazing game and equal to the best that the franchise has to offer. But they missed out on some areas that could have defined ODST as very unique.
@@elyastoohey6621 If they made you one of the one hundred, a small part of the whole story, then it would feel more realistic. It wouldn't be boring either, they could have made battlefields with hundreds of marines and you and a couple ODSTs organising missile strikes, rescuing squads and taking injured to med bays etc.
...The rookie was only in 1 game and didn't even fight half of the types of enemies you encounter over a span of five games playing as Chief.. Gonna have to second Killerb on that, unless the books, etc. negate what i'm saying i'm gonna call bull. Also, yes I realze this is a 2 year old comment for those wondering.
woot224 idk theres so many ways to look at it maybe he just felt sorry for her maybe he had a hard time killing a human and not a alien monster thats trying to take away everything he knows maybe he had enough and said fuck it im done with this shit im not sure i never read the book or seen it
Good job killing rookie in your shitty books 343, that's what people LOVE. They LOVE when you kill a fan favorite character OFFSCREEN. Seriously though, fuck off 343
I dont actually feel that "Power fantasy" that is supposed to be in the game. I actually felt like it was my responsibility as the strongest member to protect marines or ODST that i came across. I used to act as a human shield for some marines. Kinda hard to do that but i tried. And when ever i saw a marine die id fight much harder. Granted i was younger and i started to care less as i got older. Especially around halo 3. But halo CE and halo 2 i always tried to protect other soldiers.
Serendell Honoratta I did the same thing, I still kinda do. But when I was younger, I would keep entire squads alive by literally charging the enemy (be it flood or covenant) by myself and hoping I can kill them before any marines die. But I don’t take it to that extent anymore.
We can say with certainty that most ODSTs either weren't offered a chance to join or didn't (likely the former, since, at least in New Blood, Buck was noted as being the only person to decline joining the program). During the Covenant War, there were at least 4 divisions of ODSTs. A division is listed as being between 10,000 and 15,000 men, meaning we likely had around 40,000 ODST at one point. There are around 500 Spartan-IVs (300 of which are on Infinity). I think the reason we don't see ODSTs very often is simply that Spartans and ODSTs serve different roles in the post-war universe (which they bring up in Halo: New Blood). In New Blood, they send Alpha-Nine to Draco III because ONI's worried about how the Innies there would react to Spartans. All that said, I do hope we get to see ODSTs in Halo 6. There's some great concept art for them in Halo 4 or 5's art book, and I'd love to see that in-game. One great thing about the Created story is that it would allow for more inter-service interaction again.
I've always preferred the H2 version of ODST's the all black suit and dark blue/purple coloration for the visor always gave off the "stealth black ops commandos" I always had the impression they were. Also the helmet looks sick on those and I hope it appears in multiplayer during a future halo game.
Tristan Turne thats the thing though they aren't spec ops, they are more like a tactical ordinance. highly trained for superior killing capabilities over the every day marines and capable of doing spec ops missions like desposing high value targets but their general purpose is first assault, flank and reinforcing. basically drop a few squads to secure an la for marines, in the case of a difficult fight drop them behind enemy lines to crush the enemy and drop them to provide marines in a tough spot 20 second reinforcements
I actually agree with you, they look stealthier, but I much prefer the design of the H3/Reach ODST helmet. It just feels more *Halo* to me (shit explanation, I know lol, it just does)
I really liked halo 3 odst but I wish they did more with it. Instead of being basically master chief with a new name, it would've been cool to have stealth elements in it with tactical movements through the city and scavenging for ammo and other supplies. They were on the right track, but I feel they could've done more
My ODST run was scrounging around for ammo and using stealth to avoid Hunters, I don't know what you're talking about unless you were playing easy haha. It was nice using the supply caches but there was so little in it that I ditched the guns as soon as they ran out of ammo.
They could make another ODST game building off of the Halo Wars 2 story. The player could be in a squad that is deployed on various missions across the Ark, causing havoc within Atriox' army. Or, 343 could do something amazing and start making games about the original stories, not their own new content. Using the stories that Eric Nylund wrote, they could make really good games with REALLY good stories. ODSTs would fit perfectly into those games. Just a thought! :D
Mickley 343 could do a game like Contact Harvest You get to play as Johnson or some ODSTs when humanity makes contact with the covenant Would be a good way to tell the story and the Covenant would be terrifying again Problem with later games is that the Aliens have been "anthropomorphicised" too human and too relatable
Mickley you got a good point. Halo Wars Capt Cutter still only has 3 old Spartans and probably more remaining ODSTs still active on the ark. So, why not bring them back.
It was really just an excuse to kill off a character and make up a reason for Buck to become a Spartan 4. A damn shame. Also a slap in the face to those that liked the game.
you know the O.D.S.T troops are not meant to show up that often anyway for their job isn't common infantry hence their name Orbital Drop SHOCK Troops, which means landing behind enemy lines, clearing a path FOR Spartans, Marines, etc.
@@relicfinder958 I meant that they made Buck into "the old guy who changed careers instead of just retiring." Which is contradictory to what has actually happened to Buck in the books. He spent so much time in cryo-sleep being moved from one combat zone to another that while he is over 40 years old according to the calendar, his physical condition is actually more like someone in their late 20s. And almost every part of his body, excluding his brain, has been replaced with synthetically grown and reinforced organs, bones, blood vessels, and nerve endings. He became at least 6 inches taller when he became a Spartan IV. Buck was never clumsy. He took calculated risks only when absolutely necessary. He put faith in his team, never left anybody behind, and he knew his limitations. He was the ideal Marine. But they made him into Jim from The Office in Halo 5.
Here’s a great idea for a fanfic: what if Emile killed the Field Marshal during Winter Contingency? How would the rest of the campaign for Reach play out??
I think the Supercarrier might have shown its hand earlier and thus been hit with nukes before they lost them, preventing Jorge's death, and without a strong, informed leadership the Zealots on-site wouldn't have made their move to hunt Kat, meaning she would have survived as well. But Reach would still have fallen when Thel Vadamee's Fleet Of Particular Justice showed up (in the wake of Jorge's sacrifice in the original game's story). It just perhaps would have ended with more escapees, as the blunt force ground war at Tip Of The Spear wouldn't have happened quite so heavy-handedly and thus more UNSC forces would have been available and organized to retaliate against the Supercarrier and Particular Justice, possibly including the survival of the UNSC ships Savannah and Grafton, at least for a little while. Maybe we would have even seen the last fight in Pillar Of Autumn with the full Noble Team instead of just 6 with Emile on the gun. With Jorge and more supplies on hand, the Phantoms that ambushed Keyes' Pelicans and assassinated Emile probably would have been shot down before they could inflict major damage. Hell, the reason 6 was left behind at all when the Autumn left was because there was no time and someone had to shoot down the carrier moving in to obliterate the Autumn, meaning possibly the entire team might have made it onto the Pillar Of Autumn and joined Master Chief and the crew of the Autumn for the events of Halo: CE! Honestly, that alone gets me hard just thinking about it. Master motherfucking Chief with Noble Team at his back. The Battle Of Installation 04 would have gone far better in the UNSC's favour with additional shielded infantry at hand with Cortana's direction to fight off the Covenant and the inevitable Flood. Maybe even managed to retake the Autumn's crash site and get far, far more people off the Halo, including Keyes and Foehammer. (Not the Autumn itself though; it was fucked, but there was probably additional vehicles aboard for evacuation efforts.) After that, the Unyielding Heirophant would have been a cakewalk compared to how First Strike originally played out, and then transitions into Halo 2 with a lot more people at that award ceremony. Maybe even members of Noble Team stationed on the Athens and Malta, preventing the Covenant's anti-matter bombs from blowing up the neighbouring MAC platforms.
I wish they'd just trash the Spartan IV idea. I know they can't, but I just wish they would. The idea was kinda cool at first, but the fact that it has basically replaced the most realistic and arguably coolest unit among the UNSC (the ODSTs were the neat spec ops unit that we saw every once in a while in the games, but when you did see them, even being a spartan II ourselves, couldn't help but feel rallied and encouraged to fight when being along side these "best of the best" so to speak). The ODSTs were replaced with essentially super hero knock offs. Now, the Spartan IVs would have been a better idea, had they been MUCH more exclusive and rare. And it would have had a much greater impact on the battlefield. Take this for instance: whenever we saw a squads of ODSTs, we'd get excited to see these specially trained marines. But when we saw just ONE Spartan IV to assist us, that excitement could've been mirrored. Because a single S IV could've been the equivalent of a squad of ODSTs. But no, apparently, everyone and their grandmother is a Spartan IV now. They've basically become glorified ODSTs, but instead of being the black armor clad hell jumpers we knew and loved from 2 and 3, now we have super hero ironman types who are not nearly as interesting as the more realistic and grittier spec ops ODSTs.
Well for one, halo 5 is a spec ops mission for osiris so no shit we wont see many marines or odst's in game, and in 4 we do see shit tons of marines and a few spartan 4's but that makes sense since virtually all spartan 4's are stationed on the infinity. And what about halo wars 2? We see tons of marines, flamers, odst's and etc. (albeit, it's a strategy game but still) and all of the books, video's and etc. that show odst's and marines but what do I know :P

ODSTs make me moist 😍 I've got the flag, I've got the helmet from Johnson&Arms, I got the helmet on my Spartan, and I want an ODST tattoo along with the H3 Legendary difficulty logo.
ODST's, especially old school ones like Buck, would never have become Spartans in Bungie's canon. Simply put, there were fucktons of bad blood between ODST's and Spartans. There was a brawl where three ODST's died and the Spartan got off free because it was a successful test of the augmentations. Spartans stole the spotlight. Spartans got sent on more prestigious missions. Spartans were also always officers and deliberately made middling ranks, so as a result, whenever they showed up around ODST's, they got to in charge near automatically. Resources for ODST's got diverted to Spartan missions. I don't know if the Spartans really hated the ODST's back, but the Spartans were generally conditioned to be such machines as well as only had any kind of strong loyalty or attachment to their fellow Spartans.
@@brianmead7556 IIRC it was specifically Spartan IIs they hated, and it was mostly the 105th division that hated them. But even that aside, it just makes sense to have multiple levels of special forces. For instance, the US Army has the 10th Mountain, 101st Airborne, and 82nd Airborne. Above that are the Rangers, Asymmetric Warfare Group, and Special Forces (Green Berets). Above that, there's Delta Force and ISA. And while that's as high as the Army goes, the CIA then recruits from them for the Special Activities Center/Special Operations Group. That's like, 4 different tiers with 9 different elite groups... And that's just counting the Army ones, and that's not even all of them.
@5:25 wow you got it right on the mark there. My favorite moment in all halo games was in halo 3 where all the marines were so excited to see a Spartan/chief. Made me feel badass and like I was actually a legendary Spartan. I wish the newer games had more of those moments.

343 is what happened. They ditched marines, and odsts. Halo isn't halo anymore, it's no longer badass battles, it's linear, bland, and ugly missions now. Nothing creative like previous halo's
Pyro You can’t be anymore right than this. 343i clearly doesn’t care about what made Halo so chaotic and badass. The original trilogy you led your army to fight the covenant, flood, and forerunners to stop the rings. Now it’s filled with Chief’s and Cortana’s chemistry.
I remember following this game’s development closely and was so excited, my birthday was in late august and the game came out about a month after my birthday so I was patient and used my birthday money to pre order halo 3 ODST that came with the cool green halo controller. ODSTs will always be cool in my opinion. Good times
Hearing the screams of aliens wandering aimlessly in a midnight city with loose guidance as a young kid, not always truly knowing how to access a place, having to complete the same level over and over again because you don't know how to approach it yet, having noone looking for you or caring, and generally feeling lost in an already successful death trap just wondering if you'll be the next victim to die in this ghost city one bustling with life and people, to be empty and fill you with thoughts of confusion and longing for the next day that never comes by waiting. And that first look at an engineer scared the shit out of some kids.
Technically ODSTs were confirmed to be on Infinity in Halo 4 itself. Sgt. Stacker appears in the campaign of Halo 4, now promoted from Gunner Sergeant to Master Sergeant. Seeing as there isn't any evidence of him being augmented and because the only area where he appears is also filled with marines, it's safe to say he's still an ODST and not a Spartan-IV. So Halo 4 confirmed there was at least _a_ ODST on Infinity.
I missODSTs so FU*CKING much! and I hope they return very soon P.S. Xperia I always wondered what are your thoughts on the Spartan lV's and what Spartans do you think are better Spartan lls or Spartan lV's (the obivous choice is Spartan lls they are so much better than the lV's by a long shot)
luke Skywalker the 2 According to the Canon, both Spartan IIs and IVs are equally capable of performing similar feats. The average Spartan IV can run just as fast, jump just as high, and punch just as hard as the average Spartan II because they're Gen-2 armor makes up for what they lack in augmentation (unfortunately, the armor, just like all machinery,, hascertain output limit. meaning Spartan IIs with Gen-2 armor don't become anymore capable). It all really depends on whose is fighting who.
My thoughts on SIVs are... odd, lol. I don't like them, but I like that I don't like them, in that I feel the whole point of the SIV program is to dislike them in comparison to the, I guess you could say, more pure SIIs and SIIIs.
HiddenXperia - The home of Halo 5 lore videos! Yeah I get what your saying I don't like them either compared to the Slls and the Sllls they aren't really true Spartans
All Spartans are best form the best the Humanity has to offer; it doesn't care if they are S-IIs or S-IVs that's why almost everyone on the UNSC refers them as simply "Spartans"
tyler caelian Spartan 2 and 3 are better because they used stronger and more dangerous augmentations (which they could get away with because children are more adaptable) and because they were completely disciplined at starting training around 5. Think of 2 and 3 as more lethal and serious U.S delta force while the 4s would be slightly enhanced army paratroopers/rangers or marine force recon, dangerous to the average but nothing compared to the professionals.
Bullshit if you picked the best that humanity has to offer and a good amount are turning traitor, you either didn't pick the best or you massively fucked up. A lot of the Spartan 4s don't even act like soldiers half of the time and feel like they are entitled and are better than everyone else because they are a Spartan 4. One such obvious example is how Palmer keeps disrespecting scientist even though they made it so she could be a Spartan 4 in the first place. Not to mention she straight just leaves without telling anyone where she is going, nearly getting Crimson Team killed because of her incompetence.
Unplayable Lord "a lot of Spartan-IVs dont act as soldiers" have you seen the original trilogy Marines or ODSTs? and also, we've only seen 3 ("a lot" /s) S-IVs acting like "jerks" (with one of them saving Thel Vadam days after Spartan Ops)
The way Rookie was killed off was a bittersweet one. Its comparable to real life and goes to show that no matter how tough you may seem, after everything you've accomplished, and through all that struggle, your life can be easily taken in a matter of seconds by a force you never would assume would be the end of you. It was actually a well written death.

I feel like Rookie should have been recruited as a spartan 4, considering he fought through an entire city of covenant essentially on his own.
Alec Lipscomb he died before that sadly
@@noahmatthews2221 got done dirty
And maybe hint that Noble 6 survived underground on Reach with some other survivors or something and was similarly recruited.

Wholesome💯
I looooved it how the marines in halo 3 reacted to you. It made me feel like such a badass, also made me like Spartans so much.

ODST'S are and will always be my favourite fictional soldiers, while Spartan IVs are pretty much my least favourite. I WANT ODST 2
Shitan 4's are just a waist of time for 343 to have tried to push onto us now with halo infinite they are almost completely back tracking and retconning halo 5
I want odst vs flood
Palmer, killed a brute chief on her own, the rookie, made master chiefs kill count (without using giant bombs) he made it look average
The Lemon Eater I wouldn’t say he reached it (unless it says so idk know I haven’t read any of the books) but he sure is up there
...The rookie was only in 1 game and didn't even fight half of the types of enemies you encounter over a span of five games playing as Chief.. Gonna have to second Killerb on that, unless the books, etc. negate what i'm saying i'm gonna call bull. Also, yes I realze this is a 2 year old comment for those wondering.
@Jorge Perez the only other hyper lethal classified spartan was noble 6
And yet killed him off in a disrespectful way
Jorge Perez he wasn't, that was noble 6.
I'm still really sore about how they decided to axe the Rookie, and off in a book, no less. Could've given him a more badass way to go out
Malcis If he were scripted to go down in the story, it should've been at the end of H3 ODST.
woot224 idk theres so many ways to look at it maybe he just felt sorry for her maybe he had a hard time killing a human and not a alien monster thats trying to take away everything he knows maybe he had enough and said fuck it im done with this shit im not sure i never read the book or seen it
Malcis I'm not dead! I just have a really bad headache.
In reach you played as ODST I’m pretty sure
Slygon
I'd save all marines till the end where they awkwardly get cut off.
Serendell Honoratta same. But I’d reload the checkpoint whenever I lost a marine or ODST, even if the end of the level was like steps away.
Serendell Honoratta I did the same thing, I still kinda do. But when I was younger, I would keep entire squads alive by literally charging the enemy (be it flood or covenant) by myself and hoping I can kill them before any marines die. But I don’t take it to that extent anymore.
I was the same way i tried to save every marine i could to the point that i would restart the misson if i failed
I would always take the warthog and pick up marines and ODSTs to and fro the starting point and the next checkpoint so they can fight alongside me
We can say with certainty that most ODSTs either weren't offered a chance to join or didn't (likely the former, since, at least in New Blood, Buck was noted as being the only person to decline joining the program).
OOOH Canon never disappoints.

I guess, I just thought they were supposed to be these multipurpose commandos that's at least what their first appearance in halo 2 gave off.
Lucy Logan
I love you mommy
I actually agree with you, they look stealthier, but I much prefer the design of the H3/Reach ODST helmet. It just feels more *Halo* to me (shit explanation, I know lol, it just does)
Tristan Turne yeah halo 2s odst's are the best
I really liked halo 3 odst but I wish they did more with it. Instead of being basically master chief with a new name, it would've been cool to have stealth elements in it with tactical movements through the city and scavenging for ammo and other supplies. They were on the right track, but I feel they could've done more
There is stealth element in it, what are you talking about?
My ODST run was scrounging around for ammo and using stealth to avoid Hunters, I don't know what you're talking about unless you were playing easy haha. It was nice using the supply caches but there was so little in it that I ditched the guns as soon as they ran out of ammo.
What? That’s my exact experience in ODST? Scavenging and hiding lol what you talking about? You did play on legendary didn’t you..?

They could make another ODST game building off of the Halo Wars 2 story. The player could be in a squad that is deployed on various missions across the Ark, causing havoc within Atriox' army. Or, 343 could do something amazing and start making games about the original stories, not their own new content. Using the stories that Eric Nylund wrote, they could make really good games with REALLY good stories. ODSTs would fit perfectly into those games. Just a thought! :D
Mickley 343 could do a game like Contact Harvest
You get to play as Johnson or some ODSTs when humanity makes contact with the covenant
Would be a good way to tell the story and the Covenant would be terrifying again
Problem with later games is that the Aliens have been "anthropomorphicised" too human and too relatable
Mickley eric nylund books are fantastic. If 343 made a game to ghosts of onyx i would pre order sooooooo fast...
This is really a great idea. Kinda like what Disney is doing with Star Wars, making movies about the past events.
Mickley you got a good point. Halo Wars Capt Cutter still only has 3 old Spartans and probably more remaining ODSTs still active on the ark. So, why not bring them back.

Mickey caused it to happen and betrayed him and Buck. Dutch retired and Romeo helped Buck catch Mickey and in the end Mickey sent to prison I believe.
It was really just an excuse to kill off a character and make up a reason for Buck to become a Spartan 4. A damn shame. Also a slap in the face to those that liked the game.
Romeo and Mickey became Spartans too then Mickey got rookie killed

I meant that they made Buck into "the old guy who changed careers instead of just retiring."
Which is contradictory to what has actually happened to Buck in the books.
I always salute when someone mentiones Rookie's death.

Six would have gone on to be player two of halo CE since they offered Six chance to meet chief
@@furiousfinch1587 that would have been fantastic.
You get to skip Lone Wolf and then kick butt with Chief in 1.
PANCAKEMINEZZ preach bro
there is like only 500 to a 1000 spartan 4's compared to millions of marines or tens of thousands odst's lol
Not being represented in game...

@@brianmead7556 and wasn't that John "MC" that killed those ODST? I think he didn't realize his strength

I always thought of the ODSTs to be Airborne Rangers. There like the infantry but with better training and specialized roles.
Dead Vögel the inspiration used for them was Airborne Rangers and SAS
Dead Vögel notably, for the rangers come the demons from the sky. From the SAS, total brutal and fast violence of action in CQB environments .

343 is what happened. They ditched marines, and odsts. Halo isn't halo anymore, it's no longer badass battles, it's linear, bland, and ugly missions now. Nothing creative like previous halo's
That's bullshit
Nigga thats some bullshit right there, what about the Mammoth? Or the fact the Spartans rely on tech instead of brawn now? Stfu.
Psychotic Trait Forerunners actually appeared in Halo 4, Not the halo trilogy.
"Creative like previous Halos" is the most absurd thing I've heard of the original trilogy lmao
I remember following this game’s development closely and was so excited, my birthday was in late august and the game came out about a month after my birthday so I was patient and used my birthday money to pre order halo 3 ODST that came with the cool green halo controller. ODSTs will always be cool in my opinion. Good times
There are probably a large number on normal ODSTs and Marines. And theres a point where, when everyone is a Spartan, no one is.
Rookie was my favorite character in the series. He just shut up, did his job and never abandoned his unit.
I like more ODST than the Spartans Halo ODST 3 is what made me love ❤️ Halo 😇
I remember playing on legendary on halo 3 ODST and it was really scary for some reason it felt like horror game cause it was so dark
A squad of Helljumpers attempted to contain a riot in Hunt the Truth
Technically ODSTs were confirmed to be on Infinity in Halo 4 itself.
Sgt. Stacker appears in the campaign of Halo 4, now promoted from Gunner Sergeant to Master Sergeant. Seeing as there isn't any evidence of him being augmented and because the only area where he appears is also filled with marines, it's safe to say he's still an ODST and not a Spartan-IV. So Halo 4 confirmed there was at least _a_ ODST on Infinity.
I missODSTs so FU*CKING much! and I hope they return very soon
P.S. Xperia I always wondered what are your thoughts on the Spartan lV's and what Spartans do you think are better Spartan lls or Spartan lV's (the obivous choice is Spartan lls they are so much better than the lV's by a long shot)
luke Skywalker the 2
According to the Canon, both Spartan IIs and IVs are equally capable of performing similar feats.
GawsHawg yeah you're right thanks for that lore by the way it really does depend on who is fighting who.
Yeah I get what your saying I don't like them either compared to the Slls and the Sllls they aren't really true Spartans
luke Skywalker the 2
Oh man, better censor that ONE letter so we have NO idea that you just said a naughty word!!
I took my name from them so yes I want to see more of them at least until rngesus grants me the ODST armor in halo 5
So are the old spartans still better? I hate the idea that spartans are not really special anymore.
All Spartans are best form the best the Humanity has to offer; it doesn't care if they are S-IIs or S-IVs
that's why almost everyone on the UNSC refers them as simply "Spartans"
yeah but fuck those metro-sexual lookin spartans, chief is where its at
tyler caelian Spartan 2 and 3 are better because they used stronger and more dangerous augmentations (which they could get away with because children are more adaptable) and because they were completely disciplined at starting training around 5.
If the rookie were made a Spartan lV, I think he could have been at the level of noble 6, and the chief. But, I guess we we will never know...
halo odst 3 music, great choice of background music. 👍
Halo 3 odst is my favorite halo game
Dude, yes it is.
I was just arguing with friend about this.
I'm suprised there's no scene where they use an odst drop pod as a way to drop a bomb on an enemy ship or something
UNSC ships hold archer missiles for exact that stuff and orbital bombardement.
Dude, when this video opened with that ODST theme music I was hit with some major nostalgia. Haven't played ODST in years.
ODST’s are my favorite. Love them hell jumpers
Where's my cookie?
🍪
Anthony Chavez no more for you
they're in your browser!
Lord Of Admirals Close enough. XD
Sekiko 824 lmfao
The way Rookie was killed off was a bittersweet one. Its comparable to real life and goes to show that no matter how tough you may seem, after everything you've accomplished, and through all that struggle, your life can be easily taken in a matter of seconds by a force you never would assume would be the end of you.
It was actually a well written death.
Holy freakin' SHIT! Its true! An ODST and his fellow teammate were saved by a spartan.
The ODST's asked who he was and he'd say he's a supersoldier.
all of the ODSTs would know that they aren't elite anymore...
It was in the book "Dirt" by the way.
Pretty sure it was in Halo: The Flood or Halo: Fall of Reach. Those are the 2 I've read.
“Jumping feet first into hell isn’t your job; making sure it’s crowded when you get there is.”
It was entered into the annals of one of the greatest one off games ever. At least in my games library. The live action advert alone still gives me shivers.
I hope they'll give them shields though.
there are a few specialized ODST teams testing SPI (SPARTAN-III's armor)'s photoreactive plates on their armors... basically, camouflage
I'm fine with SPI too. At least something to help gameplay to feel at least a bit more believable if we ever play as ODST again.
Yeah I mean SPI is essentially mk4 armor minus the crazy reflex system
To all here. For the record... semi powered infiltration armour was not equiped with any shielding. It was made to be expendable and easy to mass produce so it is more like a buffed up odst suit and not watered down spartan armour.
@@nathandamaren2093 Yes but it could reflect a couple of plasna hit before failing if I remember right. Of course I would prefer weak shields for ODSTs though.
343 and Microsoft took a massive dump on everything the UNSC has execpt the Spartan IVs....
Then, by your logic, why ODSTs and Marines appeared in Halo Spartan Assault and other games in the post-war era, which takes place AFTER Halo 3, if you say UNSC dissolved any branch but Spartan-IVs?
I never said the UNSC dissolved all the other branches, i said 343 and Microsoft took a shit on them and gave us cookie cutter spartans instead, try READING the statement again
4:08 Steaming spartan knee
That put a lump in my throat from hearing what happened to Rookie, and how Dutch was in grief from the situation, damn...
That's a great point - I felt very protective of marines and ODSTs while playing as Chief in the first three games
Halo 4 was my first Halo game.
Halo 3 ODST is my favorite Halo game.
Sargent Major Avery Junior Johnson is my favorite Halo character.
What was your guy's?
ToLegitt2Quit
Rookie from ODST
A good choice my fellow Halo fan
Bruh, you should've gotten Halo 1 as your first game
@@captainflowers748 ahh a man of culture i see (pfp)
Buck causing Rookie to die made me hate him. i actually liked rookie better than Chief
actually, it was Mickey's "fault"
MrAvakstone92 oh thanks for clearing that up
It sucks that we only saw rookie once and they killed him just like that without mentioning or bringing him into another halo. I really wish bungie never sold the halo franchise cuz they made halo what it is and what we love today.
I mean Bungie killed 6 (granted at least in a more suitable and badass way than execution by coward for needless motivation
backstory)
in Halo 4 when you're on the UNSC Infinity preparing to load onto the Pelican and be left behind on Requiem, there are several officers, Marines, and yes ODST preparing the Pelican for you.
I loved Halo 3: ODST sooooo much. Just the jazzy feeling of searching a sleepy city was a fucking perfect formula... Sorta tugs on my heart strings when I hear that smooth jazz
No ODST in Halo 5 I guess I didn't notice WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I demand ODST in Halo 6
buck and the grunts were the only things i liked about halo 5 campaign

@@brianmead7556 Technically Spartan 117 - John became Master Chief as an honorable role, whereas the other Spartans were given ranks unofficialy as Naval assets. Others whom are ONI assets do have even higher ranks than John 117.
Honestly, Spartan IVs were one of the biggest mistakes 343 made with the series.
Picking up the series was their first mistake. At every turn they just plain fucking suck.
That thing about talking about Noble team towards the end of the video made me realize that you see all but two of the faces. Emile and Six never take off their helmets. Or at least, never while their head is in a shot.
Odst's:badass soldiers
Spartan 4s: a disgrace to their name
I feel like Palmer would be that hardcore feminist with a chip on her shoulder that would be offended if you assumed someone's gender
I want a new odst game, maybe halo 5 or 6 odst
Call it Halo 5 ODST and make it like Halo 3 ODST: a story of what all the non-spartan soldiers are dealing with cleaning up after the spartans.
Imagine Rookie as a Spartan. That would've been sick! He would've been and absolute Chad!!
He could've been the next Noble 6. But noooo.
@@thomasgodridge5945 343 dont really know what the fans want. Only recently did they start trying to appeal to the older fans but I dont trust them to change their ways.
They added DLC to HW2, micro-transaction to H5, removed split-screen, ruined the art-style, got rid of the iconic halo-esque music, made marines obsolete, added sprint, aim down sights, "advanced movement", clamber etc.
God damn, blitz mode in Halo Wars 2 Is pay to win.
Not to mention the horrible story telling in H4 and H5. H4 is not friendly to people who havent read the books, H5 just sucks ass and relies on books as well. Too much shit is written in the books that are so important to mainline story games, like why would they kill the Rookie in a book?
Can you imagine introducing locke in H5 after killing off chief in a book? Thats what it would be like making a second ODST game with a new character.
I always liked how ODSTs bridged that gap between Marine and Spartan.
That music in the intro hit me with so much nostalgia.
