- This is a quick video to show you how easy it is to make a single jumping cube. I was intimidated by this at first so I didn't attempt it. Now I am a little obsessed with this jumping cube.
I have made a box for my son, my daughter, AND my nephew! 😂 I really enjoy making this little jumping cube!

I did not cheat ... lol. I used thicker paper that could handle the pulling of the rubber band. Use thicker paper next time if you are interested trying again. Happy Crafting!

In the video I am using heavy cardstock so the cube holds its shape. I recommend using cardstock that is at least 100 lbs. 85 lbs might be ok but I have never tried it.

In general, any video labeled "quick tutorial" is going to be fast. Some people just want an overview of how something is assembled. This video is for them.

Oh no! For this one I recommend using thicker card stock at least 85 lbs 65 might be ok. I am using 105 lbs on this box. Hope that helps!

That's crazy how so many dudes can do this, a girl made abt 100 pop up cubes, and i can't even make one
I think the hardest part is to get the right tension of the rubber band relative to the paper weight. I used heavier paper because there is less chance of the rubber band tension being too tight. When it's too tight the cube won't pop up or the cube will crumble into itself. Trial and error ...
I used printer paper and it just crumbled. Did you use cardstock or something? If I don't have cardstock or anything is there something else I can use?
I used 105 lbs cardstock for this one. A heavier cardstock is best for this type of project because the two halves need to be able to hold its shape when the rubber band is pulling the centers. You may be able to use cardstock that is 50 lbs or higher but I have never tried anything less than 100.

What is this material
The paper Stardream metallic 105 lb cover cardstock in the color Ruby. I know it looks like a deep purple but they called it ruby. Haha. Hope this helps!

What kind of paper is that? Because i only have printer paper, and im not sure if that works, but if it does please tell me cuz idk
This is Stardream Metallic 105 lb cardstock. I recommend using a heavier cardstock for this cube ... at least 80 lb. I haven't tried 65 lb so not sure if that is too flimsy. Copy paper or printer paper is definatly too flimsy and the rubber band will cause it collapse.

1 cm is about half an inch. So 1 inch is roughly 2 cm. I use that quick conversion when I am watching a crafty video in cm. I hope this helps! 🤗
