Hi! Sorry for the delay in response. This foil tool will naturally press the foil into an embossed look BUT foiling on the cricut is so fickle. It doesn't always press the foil right and there are often gaps in the foil. So it looks messy. I don't recommend foiling using the cricut. There are probably better tools out there for the embossed foil look you are going for. I don't have enough experience with other tools to recommend one. Hope that helps!!

Set the style of the font to "writting" and then set the operation to "draw." 😁 not all fonts have the "writting" option but I found that if the font isn't so blocky it looks like writting.

Hope you find one laying around so you can try this project!

The price of the adapters can be a little steep but it's worth it for people who can get a lot of use out of them. In the comments some people have come up with alternative ways to use non-cricut pens.

I think the hardest part is to get the right tension of the rubber band relative to the paper weight. I used heavier paper because there is less chance of the rubber band tension being too tight. When it's too tight the cube won't pop up or the cube will crumble into itself. Trial and error ...

Yes! I have been able to use embossing folder from different brands and my personal favorite is the 3D Embossing folder from Lisa Horton called Magnolia. The hardest part is finding the right combination of plates to make it work.

Hi! Sorry .... I don't have an iPad but the setting might be very similar. I know that the tablet apps might be different too. Try searching youtube for something like draw with your cricut using an iPad.

I did not cheat ... lol. I used thicker paper that could handle the pulling of the rubber band. Use thicker paper next time if you are interested trying again. Happy Crafting!

Try it! It's a nice alternative to embossing ... and a good use of the foiling tool. I always had trouble getting even foiling so I'm glad I can use it for this. 😁
