I've seen a lot of Japanese boxers in your content. Some I was unaware of, which was interesting to watch. There's quite a few Japanese boxers inducted in the IBHOF, which led to me searching for a all time Japanese list. Wonder if you'd cover this subject in the future? An all time list of Japanese boxers. God bless
@BanneroftheSun Thank you, bud. This is a good watch. I came across this before, but thanks for suggesting. Off the top of my head, there are currently 4 Japanese boxers inducted in the IBHOF. I'm not sure about the WBHOF. I haven't checked, but it'd be interesting to see what Hancho's take is on that current all-time JP list would be now. Inoue is still on the rise, I wonder if he'd go any higher in weight. I remember Hazegawa was doing bits, Nishioka, a Japanese featherweight who had the title for a while, but his name escapes me, Shimura? No 🤔 I mean out of all the Asian countries, Japan has produced the most world champions. In terms of Asian, I get there's Manny Pacquiao (my entry into boxing knowledge, myself being Filipino) but when I was thinking all time, a great Asian boxers list. I couldn't get over how many Japanese world champions there have been historically, overall and yet, search an all time list on youtube for Japanese boxers. Yes, there are some but I just didn't feel it was in depth, hence, I think Hancho would kill it in the knowledge department and know some shit or have some area 51 footage of some old school Japanese legends. One day maybe
Guy I was thinking about was Shinsuke Yamanaka, he didn't fight at feather but batam. My bad for the long post, in a nutshell, Hancho when you get the time a Japanese all time list would be godlike. With you're signature explanations and knowledge.
I like that Honcho includes fighters in the lower weight dvisions, which are largely ignored by the western boxing media. It's gotten even worse as boxing coverage has shrank.
Your knowledge and incredible and detailed content, back stories etc., has taught me more about boxing than any other source! You are a TRUE expert! You really educated and got me excited about the lighter weight classes! There are some incredible fighters in those lighter weight classes!
In fairness to Berto Mayweather did that to many high quality and experienced pros...... It hurts me to say as a fan of the Mexican, but Mayweather schooled Marquez to the point that a decorated, seen it all veteran was just out of ideas. I have to say thank you for reminding me about Monroe as well - the boxing bin man. He was quite well promoted in the UK and I'd watched a lot of his fights. The Martinez win was a real moment - I remember him losing Nishioka..... I so wanted him to win but underrated the Toshiaki - who was poorly promoted in the uk. I tried not to repeat that mistake. Props to Hancho as always for the top quality content. Best boxing analysis on YT. Appreciate your work.
@@BoxingFan4Life you don't win multiple belts in multiple weight classes if you're not in the top echelon. Ab just has terrible habits and work ethic. Can't have any of those loving up to a weight you shouldn't be fighting at. Broner is a 140 fighter tops
AB tried too hard to he Mayweather, forgetting the fact that he didn’t have the skills and athleticism of Floyd and what got him the top is just him being “AB.”
The Floyd comparison was just dead on. He knows how hard it is to recover from a boxing career, he just did what he needed to so it could live on and not be short. Hence why he's still doing the exhibition fights, he just understands his life's worth and gain his money.

Lemieux did the right thing. That was a straight up AAA man move do not let your opponent be disqualified over something he didn't really mean to do. Basically not winning a fight that you weren't going to win. I know this isn't an MMA channel but Anthony Smith did the same thing with Jon Jones. He could have won by a disqualification but he got back up and resumed the fight. In his case he was also getting demolished..
Listening to the commentators how they talked about Lennox Lewis is embarrassing. Imagine talking shit like that and never even set foot in the ring . Smh
in my opinion, James Tony is one of the most underrated boxers of all time if he had the work ethic and mentality of Mayweather, this is just my opinion but I think he would of finished his career being considered top 10 greatest of all time if not 10 top 15. That's how special and talented a prime James Tony was he was one of the first to master the shoulder roll way before Mayweather. If you never seen the man fight I suggest you watch his middle to super middle-weight days! the guy has fought all the way up to heavyweight and it definitely wasn't planned or a strategic move lets just say he liked to eat and party and had no choice but to move up in weight classes. Even in the latter parts of his career when he was out of shape he would still have glimpses of genius and he was never a easy fight for anybody even at the end of his career. This is how talented this man was and I think he deserves more credit and recognition for his brilliance in the ring than he does!
The disrespect the North American boxing "experts" showed Joe Calzaghe was shameful. The man beat the best in his division and never hid from anyone. Calzaghe ended his career by beating the cream of USA boxing, Hopkins and Jones Jr. He dominated Jones Jr for 11 rounds.
To be fair, Zhimming was hyped a lot because he was Chinese and that senile Arum is trying to capitalized boxing into China. Same old reason why Arum dropped Manny in exchange for the Aussies.
I'll never understand how so many supposed experts were sleeping so hard on Joe. Dude was a legitimate thoroughbred in that ring and the disrespect never made sense. From the media to his trainers, EVERYONE set Lacy up to fail hard. He ran into a wall with hands made of granite that were moving at lights peed. He had no chance at all...not even a punches chance. He had nothing. Joe beat the brakes off that man so badly it was damn near a hate crime out of pity.

I really do not understand a lot of American boxing fans and media way of thinking. Even domestically, like why they still hype Wilder over the likes of Jared Anderson who is legitimately going to be a force in the division. It just seems that Americans value excitement or power over actual skills which is really annoying to be honest.
The hype got to Shiming, he pulled away from his coach and promoted his last fight with the help of his socialite wife. It's obvious in the fight, as he fought like his old inefficient Olympic style.

Whitaker was not a popular fighter because his defense made him nearly impossible to hit cleanly, esp with combos. His "squat" move embarrassed his opponents. But it was a well known fact before the Chavez fight he would need to score a clear knockout to win. Unfortunately at the time the alphabet bodies were known to protect, or sandbag, their champions, with the WBC being the worse (not that the WBA was much better). Even the people who recognized Bivol's boxing skills figured his lack of experience would doom him, but obviously he boxed smart, & fought hard, the entire 12 rounds.
