  • The Enorossi BFT 150h sickle bar mower. Another great attachment option you have for a Kubota compact tractor.

    I can't really use a sickle bar, but the idea of using the loader hydraulic to run other attachments in the back is a great idea and I will keep that in mind.

    Hi Neil, can you do a comparison video between the B50 series & the B01 series? Preferably a B2650 vs B2601? I cant find a good video showing side by side comparison, and my local dealers don't have both in stock to compare. Thanks~

    I have a L3200 and am looking to add hydraulics to the rear. What would be the cost difference to add remotes vs using my loader valve like shown here?

    If you consider that most small tractors will have front end loaders installed, one set of rear remotes really should be standard. Ive had experience with a tractor where I had to unhook the front end loader every time I wanted to put something on the three point, I'll never do that again.

    looks like thats only a five foot bar...Also on my tractor i have the auxiliary loader function for a grapple so i just teed the lines and ran a pair on hoses to the back for a rear set of remotes

    Is there a version of a sickle bar mower you could recommend for an older b7200.

    I see sickle bar mowers on heavier equipment that trim the edges of trees, are there any that do this that attach to regular tractors? Are there any sickle bar mowers for regular tractors that work in the upright position?

    I'm considering an Enorossi to clip pasture fields. The online manual gives a 1-3/16" (3cm) minimum cutting height, and I assume that's using the lowest settings. I was wondering what the cutting height would be if you select the highest skid plate setting in under the bearings and highest sled setting out at the bar end.

    I am planning on buying the Kubota BX series tractor. Are there any jackhammer attachments for the BX series? I have a very rocky terrain in my garden and would like to do some landscaping. Thank you.

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am sure it could be done, but I would discourage it. Hammers are very expensive and working it up on a BX won't be economical. You'd be much better off renting a powerful hammer for the periodic needs you may have for it.

    What would be a good attachment for a bx to do brush and scrub of approximately 1” thick trees? I rented a skid steer with a brush hog & it did ok but not down to the ground like we wanted

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to get down to the ground, a Flail Mower would be best.

  • @eosjoe565
    @eosjoe565 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Since you are using the bucket curl outlet how do you avoid having the bucket bleed down and hit the ground if mowing for a long time?

    • @eosjoe565
      @eosjoe565 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I understood that. But that is the boom. The bucket itself will still have a tendency to bleed down and work its way to the "dump" position over a period of time. I was just curious if that presented a problem or if they had a workaround.

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure who you are responding to? Maybe there was another person who deleted a comment?
      all values will leak some, that's totally normal. There would be no functional difference here between a rear remote and loader valve. Given the low strain thats put on the cylinder on a mower like this, leak down would not be an issue.

    • @eosjoe565
      @eosjoe565 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Yes, apparently the person who responded previously deleted their post. I was just wondering if the disconnected bucket would bleed down to the "dump" position while mowing and contact the ground and without the curl circuit hooked up you would have no way to raise it back up. Then again, maybe the Kubota hydraulics do not leak down that fast.

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I follow you. With the hoses disconnected, the cylinder can't really move as there is nowhere for the fluid to go.

    • @eosjoe565
      @eosjoe565 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I see. Cool. It's nice to see sickle bar mowers are still available. Back in the day that's about all anyone used to mow down fields.

    He said relitively inexpensive for this attachment Rossi 6' Sickle bar mower $4,200 to $4,500 I find online , I guess so if compared to $25,000 attachment? but nice video! wish someone would post one on how to hook this thing up to a tractor that has 2 port rear hydrolics like on a B2650 etc....

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All tractors would have two ports. This is a single acting cylinder. One way is under power, the other drains to tank.

  • @jacksonk5308

    We just received our machine with the exact same setup, except ours has a third function valve and it doesn't have the mower. I was wondering if I could run the mower lift and lower with the third function valve pump? I see an application for this kind of mower around my property. The reason I would like to do this is because I currently do not have any implements for the machine that need the third function valve and during the winter when I'll have my hydraulic angle plow, I won't even have this on, and I would like to have full control over the loader while mowing.

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jackson Krinke so what would this achieve?

    • @jacksonk5308
      @jacksonk5308 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If having full control over my loader is what you're asking about, I would just like it handy in case I get stuck or there's an object in the way. I was just wondering if I could use my third function valve or if I would have to use the bucket curl if I didn't get a rear outlet for it.

    • @paldeusjaco9657
      @paldeusjaco9657 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jackson. Yes you can use the 3rd function valve for this. I have a grapple that uses the 3rd function but when not using the grapple, I intend to use it for the sickle. I got mine from EverythingAttachments. There's a youtube channel "Paul and Kathy Short" Paul did a mod for the running of extra hydraulic hoses from the 3rd function to the rear to be used for whatever to use back there. This is on a BX. I own a BX. With using the 3rd function you can then continue to use the bucket as normal and (I assume yours has a 3rd function switch on the joy stick or similar) to use the sickle. For me having ability to use both is nice as my land isn't that well taken care of yet so the bucket along with the sickle will give me ability to block out brush or whatever the needs may be. You will still need hydraulic lines ran to the rear, if you don't already as Messick's had done in this video. I love the Messick's videos, wish they were closer to me, would be fun to visit them ;)

    • @jacksonk5308
      @jacksonk5308 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, yes I watch Paul and Kathy too! Great videos. I didn't even think about applying that. Thanks for the idea, and you might have just pushed me towards a sickle mower!

    I like the simplicity of the sickle bar mower but it is not economical. I was interested so I called intending to buy one but the 59" was over $4,000. Compare that to the Titan 48-inch Offset Ditch Bank Flail Mower for $2,400.
