I don’t feel like I’m watching a video. I feel as though I stopped over to say hello to a friend! I’ll leave feeling good about my garden skills because I do exactly what he does. If it doesn’t look good, I’ll move it.

What a wonderful energetic man. If John was born today his mother would be frantic and he would be on drugs for ADHD and we would be missing such a wonderful unique human being, that certainly lights up my day
Love watching you ‘rectify your mistakes’ John. Gives me confidence to have a go, though maybe not with a pick axe…such inspirational videos, have learnt more from watching you (as a newbie gardener) than anyone else. Thank you. (Although I am still trying to like phormiums!!)
I am an American and my maiden name was O'Brien. Maybe it's my Irish roots, but I love gardening! I would give just about anything to grow blue meconopsis! I saw it once at the Chelsea Flower Show but my hot Midwestern summers would prevent me from even trying. Good luck with yours!
Potentilla’s are great , very long flowering period . Don’t get too big and work well with herbaceous plants . Cheers John , your gardens looking fantastic .
Ooh a new video from my favorite garden guy! Thanks for sharing your mid-August chores. I always learn so much. I bought a new Potentilla a few weeks ago. It's supposed to have dark pink flowers. Potentilla fruticosa Bella Bellissima™My thinking is that they're making a comeback because they're drought tolerant and we can always use more plants that don't require a ton of water.
Yes you are right. I worked in a school where many people would walk purposefully in the halls, clutching a bunch of papers. It took me a while to realize they were walking in circles. 😹
We just love John lord he’s our favourite gardener in the whole wide world 🌎.We love how he knows all the names we love his garden 🪴.He looks very genuine kind of guy.and the camera man 👨 makes us laugh 😂.So happy gardening 👨🌾 we can’t wait to watch.🌼🌼🌼🌼🌸🌸🌸🌸🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🥀🥀🥀🥀🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌷🌷🌷💐💐💐💐💐🐚🍄🍄🐚🐚🐚🐚🪸🪸🌹🪨🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
It’s very interesting to me that John never bothers to break up the roots in a pot bound plant. Every book tells you to do it, but John’s garden seems like evidence that it’s not necessary. And it’s a pain to do.
Absolutely adore my sky blue Delphinium- I think it’s the millennium series if memory serves. And my Boom Chocolatta and good old standard Rozanne varieties of geranium. But my absolute favourite blue perennial is Gold ‘n Sapphires Lithodora. Took almost 3 years to really take off and spread so be patient but it looks marvellous now. Have it edging the front of a border with catmint and Russian sage behind it.
Helenium Sahin's Early Flowerer is one of my top five favorite requirement have in the garden. Lovely in front of Asclepias incarnata, which is 4ft wide x 4-5ft tall. It got some form of burrowing beetle, but I was able to save a thumb size silver, and in 3yrs it will be 4ft wide x 3-4ft tall again. It seems to enjoy the clay soil for its moisture holding aspect. It is not something you can necessary find year-round in the states. What a pollinator magnet too.
Hello John. Have you tried the late flowering southeast US native Aster oblingifolius October Skies, or Raydon's Favorite? Hot full sun and dry soil is not a problem.
Hi John, I just bought 2 Phormium ‘Pink Stripe’ today and I'm going to put into 2 containers at the front of my house wondering how much frost they'll take in pots? Thanks.
My Eupatoriums have come to nothing this year too (E. dubium "Baby Joe"). Conditions should have suited them, but unfortunately they also suited the slugs and cutworms, and the Eupatoriums lost the battle
Why does my Rodgersia's leaves come on gangbusters for five weeks, and then start to turn brown? They get replaced over the season, but......what the heck?

“Always be carrying something, then it looks like you’re busy and people leave you alone.” Genius

This is a REAL gardener.
Learn something every time with John, amazing gardener, should have his own tv special

That blue t-shirt looks good on you John. A good one to garden in. We are in a drought in Wisconsin good to hear the thunder and rain coming. Lucky.
Gives me an aesthetic meltdown when he cannot decide where to re plant as his first choice is usually spot on.!
HELLO FROM CANADA! I just found your videos. Your garden is spectacular. You have a great sense of humour that I appreciate.
Dear Mr Lord Just love your joy at a beautiful plant a total breath of fresh air in the world today , Thank-you sir!!
Blue flowers are my favorite! Thanks for the recommendations, your garden is outstanding!
I always get my pen & paper when watching you for some new plants i haven't heard of. Thank you.
So do I! Lots of screenshots on my iPad !!
@@hilshils3426 I'm still old school with my pen & paper, hehe, but may take some screen shots next time.
Looking forward for the next video and you always make my day. Just a little brighter. Love your garden.

What a gorgeous garden! So jealous. Greetings from Denmark

Thanks John, always entertaining and informative. You have a style and I thoroughly enjoy watching you.
I love your videos John!
I’m struggling with a ruptured disc and can’t do any of the MANY jobs I want to. I miss my garden 😢
Always so very entertaining and educational. Thanks so much for sharing with us. 👍❤️😊
Just fabulous John - as always!!!
Thanks for making me smile John
Every time you swing by that Cornus controversa 'Variegata' I swoon! My very favorite tree!
Cheers from North Carolina USA
"Should it go here or there there"
I'm a ten year professional gardener and that question remains the most occult and maybe random of all

That’s because no sane plant is going to defy John Lord by sulking when planted without scoring the root ball.
Thanks, John and David! Great video!
Lovely garden....
love the plants thx for their names
Thanks John

Cannot wait to see the Sunningdale in its full glory!
Can office cubicle workers also carry pix axes around to look busy?
Potentillas here in un-sunny Wales do extremely well, mine are just happily plodding along with not a care in the world.
You are inspiring

Do you sell the "Rosa rotilia" John
I cannot see anything garden worthy in a phormium. I feel they just provide shelter for snails. Also they look so alien up against herbaceous plants
My Eupatoriums have come to nothing this year too (E. dubium "Baby Joe"). Conditions should have suited them, but unfortunately they also suited the slugs and cutworms, and the Eupatoriums lost the battle

Thanks very much John, as always ☘️ and thanks for the list of plants too in the description box, very handy that is 💯
