As always John, a joy to enjoy your company as you take us on a wee journey through your garden and in a way through your beautiful mind. For that I thank you. X
I just enjoy watching you walk us through the garden and talk about the plants and learning so much along the way! I don't know if you realise how valuable your little tips are and I always apply them in my gardening ❤
Seeing the garden as a whole vignette from a garden guru who has been at it for many years. You have to inspect it from all angles. You my friend are teaching me much. Love!!
Just love John Lord love his garden love what he does love him he seems so knowledgeable knowing all the Latin names he’s a genius love Ireland and Ireland’s.Love the Irish ☘️.The best places in the world.GodBless gardening 👨🌾.
I don’t really get excited when a video comes out from another channel, but when I saw that you just released this, I got so happy! You got such a great attitude that is somewhat like walking through a friend’s garden together! 😊
Thank you for reminding me of names! I live in western Washington state and our climates are similar, and, in my mere 2/3 acre garden, I have many of the same plants as you in Ireland. I’ve collected plants over decades, and some of their names escape me now and then. Bye for now…time to get out in the garden.😍
I'm lucky to live on an old estate near stonehenge, the owners let me plant stuff anywhere, I've got lots of space so I can buy anything I like the look of and find a place for it .. When I see you running out of space John I realise how lucky I am .. Ideally you needed twice the space you have .. I only plant shrubs and trees because I haven't the time to weed stuff. . This year I've planted the fastest growing tree in the world a foxglove tree.. Also this year I've planted 4 mulberry trees and several yew.. I notice you have some royal purple smoke bushes John and I've got 6 of them growing individually around the estate after hearing you say they should be planted apart to avoid making the garden appear dark.. Your Irelands national treasure, and not only do you plant things you enjoy doing it.. I don't do the detail John I leave that you experts, but I can tell you 1 thing as far as gardening goes knowledge of plants is 25% the real art to gardening is putting the right looking and right size plant in the right place ..♡
I've learnt alot & written down some plants you have there. I bought nepeta Blue Moon this year & is a great plant that no wind like we have been having in Cornwall will make it flop! Happy Gardening!
Speaking of controlling plants or plants controlling you, I just finished with the help of my husband digging up my Wisteria. What a big job, the plant was definitely controlling me, at the age of 70 it was beyond my energy level. The root system was insane, but in the end I’m thinking we were successful. Love your videos, I’d loved to follow you around in your garden. Thanks for sharing ,the best 👍❤️😊
Thank you John and David for the video really enjoyed it, wrote down some plants I fancy buying, so thanks for putting names on screen, come back soon please.🏴
I always shout to John don,t cut al those beutiful flouwers of😅😅😅😅 when did you start this wonderful garden? Please keep on doinig what you are doing John we al love you greetings from holland
Thanks John , your garden is looking great . I must visit sometime . Putting muck on cut branches to hide them - I’ve done that in past . Regarding plants that destroy gardens …. I’ve seen pendulous sedge completely take over several gardens , in fact I seem to be seeing this more & more . ❌DO NOT PLANT !!❌ Anyone who does should be sent to gardeners prison !! 🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾
"If you don't control a plant, it will control you", best garden quote I've heard. I cut out a rugosa rose, the same one you have and it almost killed me. Now we have 3 standards but not performing well at all. They were bare roots...do I give them another season or just watch the branches continue to die???? I think they were bad rootstock to begin with. Love dogwoods, esp the weeping cornus...can look like a waterfall of pure white flowers. There s a few around. Jo😊New Zealand
Aconitum Vulparia, ‘you wouldn’t think that was poisonous by looking at it’ just thrown the comment in but so important, John is one of a kind, love him.
96 degrees (35.5° C) here, 6 inches below normal rainfall for the year (marginal drought) .. 1pm in the afternoon and a deer was eating my shrubs 15ft away from me 🤦♂️🤷♂️ ... some days it's tough being a gardener.
Seek Hydrangea quercifolia Snowflake. The doubling florets stack up like strings of seashells to form a 15" panicle. A beautiful beautiful shrub, especially with the dripping seedheads of the grass Chasmanthium latifolia (though deadhead the grass in July to avoid seedlings, and it makes a beautiful dried stem). Lilies also as companion. Oakleaf hydrangeas will make deep roots, unlike H. macrophylla.
It’s funny that you say this because there was some Achillea that was almost the same color and I thought that’s what it was! Next to the Lychnis. And I have bunches of those growing together kind of by accident.
Does anyone else love the crunch of the gravel underfoot??
i don't care if you don't do too much in your videos, it's nice to just follow you round looking at things, and listening to your ideas.
I look forward to any video you post. Beautiful plants and a wealth of information. Thank you from Oregon zone 8b.
Hey you genius. Greetings from the Netherlands.
"We still have twelve good weeks left."
I actually felt relieved when you said that, John!

John my man, you could read from the phone book and I'd watch ya!

Can’t remember another video quite as long as this one, but honestly, the time just flies by when you’re watching it. Great stuff! Much appreciated.
Loved the long enjoyable journey through the garden.
I like your repetition, drifts of plants, and color combinations in your plant borders.

Awesome to se you Mrs John Lord!
Are you allowed to say that?!! (Just kidding)
Exactly the video I hoped would come!
Loads of bees in our garden this summer.... more than usual I would say.

I don't think I have ever seen any ascepias tuberosa in your garden. Great plant!

Happy day John Lord
😊❤💚🙏👍
💚💚Dieser Garten.....💚💚.👍👍👍eine Augenweide👍👍👍
I wonder why you don't make bouquets with the flowers you cut?
Yes John Lots money could be made from your beautiful cut flowers
26:04 - what about planting a Rozanne Geranium there?
So not to waste anything in the garden, are the pruned shrubs and flowers in the wheelbarrow made into a bouquet?
Love your lazy videos.
