Lol I remember as a kid I thought this was just the best ending ever.... and today I wonder why was it so suspenseful? If the puck is not in the net it's clearly in her glove!
Nah, I've seen shots like this where the puck is caught in the equipment and falls out. The only thing that makes no sense is the goalie's delay at opening the glove because she definitely would've known she caught it. Maybe the fact she did stop the shot surprised her.

Such an epic finale to one of my fav movies. My favorite Duck is Jesse Hall, had the skill and the swag. Also smoothly scored the first goal of the shootout for Team USA 🏒
lmao Ive always liked how serious the Iceland goalie was when. Dwayne did his puck juggle from the center line almost lol like he's gonna be able to shoot it that far 😂
Three thoughts... 1) Sanderson's shot in the shootout was an epic one 2) Fulton must have missed his last four shots prior to the one in the shootout. Everyone who knows Mighty Ducks knows he usually only hits the goal one out of five 3) Gunnar Stahl got too fancy for his own good
I think they can't. When Disney sold the franchise in 2005 they techincally still owned the trademarks, which is why the team is just the Ducks now instead of the Mighty Ducks, the design for the jerseys and the old team logo all still belong to Disney via trademark.
this was the first sports movie i ever saw back in like 94 or 95 and this was the movie that got me into hockey because it proves the underdog can come out on top which is a great sports lesson
I always find it interesting to see how everyone always had different favorite characters. Like to me Charlie, Fulton, and Portman were legends and other people thought Adam Banks was the best when I thought he wasn't all that wonderful.
Adam Banks was the best and low-key he was one of the main characters besides Charlie Conway that was around on all 3 Duck movies and I think he was on Mighty Duck's Game Changers
Gunner you lost it for me.Gunner says you lost it for yourself let’s go shake their hands.Nice work captain Duck when he shook Charlie’s hand love this movie
The animated series is nothing compared to the trilogy franchise However, The only thing they'll almost have in common are the jersey numbers on their hockey uniforms
haha same thing for me. as a kid I loved 2 and since high school 3 was my favorite. 3 had the least hockey action but it was very emotional and the last game was the best of all of them, 0-0 the whole time, it was great and seemed like a real game lol, while the first 2 were like 4-2 and 5-1 and both resulted in shootouts. d2 stilmy 2nd favorite
you know what would be cool? they could make a sports video game based on all 3 mighty ducks movies with all the teams and their jerseys. Wouldn't that be awesome?!!! Like if you wish that would happen?
I just realized, not a single one of the Iceland players have Icelandinc last names. Except for Stansson their coach. Every Icelandic last name ends with "son" and none of the players have that on their jerseys. Iceland has very strict naming laws about what names you can or cannot name your son or daughter, there is a list of pre approved names, and if you want to name your kid something else, well, you can't. They even have a naming committee to oversee this. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icelandic_Naming_Committee
I can't get over the fact that Duane Robertson was the player who had 'some of the greatest puck skills anyone's scene' and that's the one Duck who couldn't score in the shootout
I never understood why, at 2:14 Adam Banks looks to his team's bench, and more specifically why Charlie Conway, Ms. McKay and Gordon Bombay each gave him a nod.
Two things can be true at once. 1. Gunnar Stahl is maybe the coolest name ever. 2. "Triple Deke", stop, stare at the goalie between the dots and fire a snap shot glove side is not "a move" 😂
@TheAnttiJ Back when this movie was made Iceland barely knew what Hockey was. It's only recently that we have any sort of national team and we still have only like 3 club teams here. It's a growing sport though.
The one issue I have with this scene was after Gunnar took the shot, there was the pause and cheer when she threw the puck in the air. The puck didn’t cross the line, so obviously team USA won
@klpfj08 Interesting. I noticed that you can turn off retired jerseys for Be a GM mode (if I remember correctly), so I wonder if that one still applies or not...
I always had the same two questions watching Gunnar's penalty. What was the point of doing a triple deke if you're gonna stop and hit a slap shot from at least 15 feet out? And why did they have to wait until Julie dropped the puck to know that Gunnar hadn't scored?
Agreed 100%. I'm guessing the 'stop counts as a miss' rule didn't apply because Fulton did the same thing. But I remember watching this and wondering that as well. Count the number of dekes and brace yourself, but he stops before shooting, PAUSES, and then shoots. And I know it's in slow motion but for Julie, that pause would've been long enough.
And who wore his Ducks jersey #??? Adam Banks!!!! Coincidence? Or did they give him that # on purpose knowing it's the # of hokey GOAT Gretzky to make Adam be the GOAT of the Ducks? Just wondering.

@@jeffburnham6611 I justify it by saying the universe went into Freeza time and/or this was the same time Stargate Command dialed P3W-451. It's the planet with the black hole that slowed down time.
