Rachel was also terrific in her role in this movie. Loved her character and her role. She's a natural actress and comes across genuine, sincere in her part in " A Tourist Guide to Love".

I'm not fond of romance movie... except this ❤
Actually, instead of being "whip smart," this is a spectacularly dumb movie which really knows or acknowledges nothing about the French struggle in Indochina (see the book Hell in a Very Small Place) or the biggest war of an adult lifetime -- Vietnam -- which shattered or ended so many lives for American and Vietnamese people. But, if you have a room temp IQ as many film people do, perhaps this vapid and pointless flick will fill the bill.
It's a rom-com set in modern-day Vietnam. There's more to Vietnam than just the Vietnam war. What you're looking for is a war film like Apocalypse Now.
Man this isnt Platoon or apocalypse now, just a romance movie. You're projecting all kinds of dumb shit on this movie.
