    Great video, Skitty! I'm going to watch a lot more of them now!
    Very informative and concise!
    My only two suggestions would be:
    1) Lose the background music (it is distracting and just adding noise)
    2) leave a bit of space after each description or major point. We (the untrained audience, to whom this is all brand new) need a moment to process what we just heard before you dive into the next point. It's easy to get overloaded because when you're thinking about what you just heard, you end up not hearing the beginning of the next point and you get left behind.
    Thankfully, since it's a video, we can just skip back a bit and relisten but if you wait for a beat before making your next point, there won't be any need for us to rewind.
    It's also good to get into that habit if you are ever going to teach a group live, like in a classroom or at a workshop.

    Is it possible to save a series of poses as in the Studio Library?

    • @SkittyAnimates
      @SkittyAnimates  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      AnimBot's is more for transferring poses rather than saving them for later, so it only works with 1 stored pose/animation at a time.

    Hlw @skitty animates I love your vedio they helped me lot.I have a question?can u please answer.
    I am student currently learning animation
    And my teacher says that it's important to match refrence fps to maya fps is it important coz I don't see you or any other professional artists match refrence fps with maya fps?
    For ex-i have refrence of 30fps should I also change my maya from preferences fps settings to 30 fps?or should I just use 24 fps?
    I am kinds confused doesn't it mean I am Rotoscoping?

    • @SkittyAnimates
      @SkittyAnimates  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tushar, usually your Maya scene will be locked at a certain fps (24fps usually for tv production, 30 usually for game) so you'll want to change the fps of your reference, not your Maya scene. Just put your 30fps reference in a video editing software and re-export it as 24fps. If you leave them separate fps there's 2 things that can happen:
      1) the frames try to become 24fps and become interlaced (shows multiple frames per frame), or Maya deletes random frames to keep the speed
      2) Maya keeps every frame so the speed when you animate it is wrong

    So some studios chose to not use Animbot which is objectively cuts time for animating something by several times and helps animators not to destroy their minds over maya?
    huh...
    I mean simple mirroring poses for walk cycle in vanilla maya takes a minute or 2 but with animbot it's just several clicks

    • @SkittyAnimates
      @SkittyAnimates  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah. I can't speak on what most studios think, but I was involved in the push at my own studio and can speak on that. Myself, 4 other animators and 2 supervisors did a trial run of animbot in studio, built a case for why we should have it, then the supervisors pitched it to the powers that be. They agreed it was beneficial, so they looked into pricing. Turns out buying commercial licenses is a huge price jump from the regular user license cost, so there was no convincing them at that point.

      @@SkittyAnimates ah, I see. Money question. That's understandable

    • @chrisderochie3415
      @chrisderochie3415 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pocato2329 It can be a lot more complicated than that. Every studio has their own pipeline - tools and scripts that aren't designed to work within that pipeline can completely ruin the system. I've worked in studios before where animators tried to sneak in their own favourite tools and it caused major trouble! Once, the studio had to shut down for an entire day to fix the trouble a plug-in tool caused - you can imagine how much that cost in lost wages and stress...
      Skitty called it right at the beginning - get used to doing things the plain vanilla way before you become too reliant on any tool. More than likely you will not have access to it in a studio and you WILL have to use the tools they provide you with.
