I can't help but think I inspired a part of this video during a discussion thread on how dead the cinder block ball is this year a while ago. Sorta feel honored. Anyway, this is really cool of you to do and definitely should get people to respect Balentien's record more.
if you ask me i think the "Juiced ball" argument was being used by the Giants to bitch about Balentin easily breaking Oh's record. for his part, Oh congratulated Balentin as soon as he hit 56.
i think the thing with the "Juiced ball" thing, I think it was a mix of the Ball (used with no knowledge among the teams allegedly) being slightly livelier then usual, and the fact that Yokohama Stadium is one of the smaller stadiums in the CL not named Koshien, in fact the idea that the ball was "Juiced" but their weren't that many homeruns in the smallest ballpark in the entire league kind of puts that theory to bed.
Hitting 50 is hard. After playing OOTP for 40 seasons, I only had one guy who hit over 50 homers in Japan - Franmill Reyes. Most guys hit 45 or 47 but then just drop off.
Honestly i'd rather see juiced to the brim balls than the dead balls we're seeing now. Balls barely leaving the field is very bad product in the long run. Lets hope they find a balance and juice the ball next season.
I wish they'd leave the balls alone, and not adjust them. Home runs are fun, and keep people watching. They don't need to be super juiced or anything, but dead balls are boring, and simply bad for business
CORRECTION:
6:53 Takeya Nakamura's 48 homer campaign happened in 2011, not 2012. Whoops.
Also, HR+ is based on Home Rate, not total
You know a baseball channel is legit when they use Power Pros music 😩👌
The nostalgia hit me like a truck
For real
This channel by far is one of the greatest channels I have found on TH-cam.

6:24 I wish Yamakawa wasn't a piece of garbage because that swing DOES things for me
Sublimely enlightening video! Is there info anywhere for HR+ single season leaders in MLB history? Thanks!

*goes to npb stats to look up Futoshi Nakanishi*
I still sometimes wonder what could've been if the Mariners hadn't given up on Balentien so quickly.
2:31 oddly satisfying
even more so that im the 55th like

Woah, another Tony Blanco mention.
They need to put respec on Balentien's name!
Whatever happened to Micheal Westbay's old site? Anyone out there remember him?
I used to get my NPB news from there, and loved his Gaijin Database.

they juiced the balls for Babe Ruth, ending the dead ball era.
Great one
GAIJIN BASEBALL I LOVE YOU
people ware just made he broke Oh record
Except in Osaka where Oh is universally despised.
@@b-zoneonroku2020 I think that's because Oh was a life long Giant.
If juicing up the ball is what it took to end the charade of Oh's BS home run record, I'm 100% for it.
We all know the legend Randy Bass wouldve been the true home run king
