Forgotten Land was the turning point of Kirby in terms of both gameplay and lore, and considering that HAL Labs wants to build on what Forgotten Land established, the lore gets crazier from here.

@@alvaroperez2349 I'd argue the turning point was HAL changing directors. Basically as way back as Return to Dreamland is when lore started going from "someone stole cake, now Kirby will slay" to villains being actual characters and pause screen fun times.

The biggest lore tidbit from Fighters 2 is that Kirby does not know how to read. He couldn’t understand the letter he received.
He learned to read and write by the time Forgotten Land happens -- his handwriting is a bit sloppy, though.

4:37 The reason why he looks familiar is that it is a remake of the final boss from Nightmare in Dreamland (the GBA game you remembered), named Nightmare. The remake of the boss is in Super Kirby Clash, which is basically a Kirby boss rush with RPG stuff
The remake of Adventure on the GBA was Nightmare in Dreamland; Return to Dreamland was the Wii game with Magolor as the main villain.

Kirby and the Forgetten Lands actually released this year (March 2022), and is one of the fastest selling Kirby games in the Franchise (Nintendo outright says its the Highest), so probably.
Kirby is one of Nintendo's best selling franchises, it's just a lot more popular in japan
Probably because most People think its a Baby Game, and thats also why i love Kirby Lore reactions, because i always find the reactions of the people so funny when they find out that Kirby is a God and Kills gods on a regular basis, or when they see Zeros eye getting ripped out
A new Kirby spinoff was announced, by the name of Kirby's Dream Buffet. There are a few trailers for it, and I think you'd enjoy them.

They are making more games. Just recently they announced a racing game where Kirby rolls around devouring a world made of cake.
Btw, I would highly recommend NOT watching the Kirby Game Theory videos. MatPat isn’t that knowledgeable of Kirby lore and his info was *VERY* inaccurate and/or misinterpreted. The “What is Kirby” video is harmless enough (I actually kind of like it), but the “Kirby is EVIL” video was so awful with its problems that thousands of Kirby fans berated him with comments and debunk videos that he ended up canceling the planned part 2. Now the video just makes me sad because thousands of non-Kirby fans develop an incorrect idea of Kirby from it…
Game Theory in general is very slapdash bullshit.
@@BJGvideos some are good which dont concetrate on lore, like how things work scientifically, like for example how bobombs and Bullet Bills would actually Work with realife Phyics, there is also the Zelda theory where he explained how the Zelda Timeline is connected through Hyrule Warriors which is bullshit because it was stated like a million times that its non canon, another one is the Sans is Ness and Kirby is evil Theory
@@falco05 His rosalina video was pretty goood but videos like the mario being psychopath is really what make me not like his videos, oh yeah can't forget how he called a tanned nurse joy as a "shiny".
Some people also get the wrong idea of triple D, mostly because of the cartoon... which is also where the "baby Kirby" thing stems from despite all other external media showing him to be a child and the games not saying anything about his age (though the unnecessary Puyo Puyo reskin where he is even more mean to Whispy than usual (treading on his roots after being calmly advised not to, saying that he feels like some apple pie, and outright uprooting the tree if he loses) does show him to be old enough to speak coherent sentences, notably by showing him do so)

Okay so super spoilers for this but
After fighting Morpho Knight you get his sword and can read a description about the power-up Kirby can get as a weapon.
It supposedly corrupts all who wield it from it's sheer power...
And then Kirby just wields it like a boss.
"For Kirby, wielding such power is... a breeze."
Its not really surprising, Considering how Morpho isnt able to Absorb Him when he landa on him

4:39 That's Parallel Nightmare, the alternate universe counterpart to Nightmare, the final boss of _Kirby's Adventure_ and its remake, _Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land._ The latter of which is the game you mentioned playing due to the scene of Dedede trying to keep Kirby from reinserting the Star Rod into the Fountain of Dreams.

Fun fact, as of the newest game, super Kirby clash has become canon, but is just in another universe.

I would say that Kirby is probably Nintendo's 7th most popular franchise as of right now.
Pokemon and Mario (including spinoffs) are easily one and two, followed by Smash Bros and Zelda. After that I think you can safely put Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing as 5th and 6th, with Kirby settling right after. Kirby games 100% get marketed pretty well, and they always do really good. Of all the series I listed, Kirby probably has games put out the most frequently just because it's so easy to play around with the Kirby franchise and put him into a ton of different genres from racing games to platform fighters as well as the fact that despite him not being the most popular, people will ALWAYS buy Kirby games without fail.
I think Kirby is more popular than Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Fire Emblem. I rarely see any of those aside from Animal Crossing nowadays
@@themustardman219 That's absolutely not true. The sheer amount of revenue that Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Fire Emblem bring is enormous. Fire Emblem Heroes just broke the 1 Billion dollar revenue milestone, New Horizons is the second best selling game on the Switch, while Breath of the Wild is fourth, with it's sequel being one of the most anticipated games of the last 5-6 years.

@@theduckgoesmoo I find it sad that there’s literally no videos about sonic lore when it’s so interesting, also kinda sucks that people just brush off the games as “dumb kids games” when in reality they can get pretty dark. (Although probably not on Kirby’s level, some of it made me question whether or not it was a kids franchise or not)

I do reccomend "Kirby in 6 minutes" but that video is not nearly as detailed as these ones. Though his art is really good. I'd rather reccomend one of this other "in minute videos" Like his Pokemon Legends Arceus or Mother Series
