It probably looked more like a cameraman filming the interviewer from the opposite side as Gordon. It's not like people are going to be paying close attention to the exact aim of all 3+ cameras.

Believe it or not, Gordon actually is actually a nice person in real life. It just that his passion in cooking makes him like a rage guy. Well, you can tell that a passionate chef always want the best from their students in handling food.
plus his kitchen nightmare videos literally shows rotten food, people could easily die or be hospitalized from that so its understandable him being angry, he never gets angry on wait staff.

He's like that on Hell's Kitchen because the people there are supposedly professional chefs that want a chance to work for Gordon in his restaurants. He will grill their asses because he expects only the best most professional people there will be able to handle the pressure whilst still being able to produce an extremely high quality dish. Masterchef is about amateurs showing that they have the skills to become professionals in their own right so he is much more encouraging and helpful as he wants people to learn more and enjoy cooking like he does.
benskiies Yeah, you are correct. What always floors me are some of the things they have to cook, whether it's Hell's Kitchen or Masterchef, some of those things I've never even heard of. Last night, they had to make scones for a pressure test and I have no idea what they are, much less how to make them. I have picked up some tips from watching the shows, but my cooking abilities are pitiful compared to any of them.
