  • In today's video, I walk us through what steps I take as an artist for selling at conventions. Right now we're on the pre-show preparation topic and I go over tips for selling at conventions that include merch and pricing. Selling at conventions, in artist alley or as an exhibitor on the main floor, doesn't have to be overwhelming, it just takes some preparation!
This video is part of a mini-series "Conventions for Artists". Subscribe to be sure you don't miss the rest! In this series, I will be covering what you need to know before you sign up for your first convention, what merchandise to bring, show display setups, and more tips for selling at conventions.

Such a useful video, Naomi! I did have a question: how do you decide how much stock to take to a show?

So glad I had the opportunity to watch this. Pu-leeze do a little blurb about signage. Every con I have issues making durable signage. I'm definitely getting into tote bags. I'm a big proponent for useful items and products that can be introduced in my customer's daily lives.
    Also, edit - IT ME!!! 💖💖 o3o 💖💖

Great tips once again! I am currently selling prints (no other merch as of yet) of my digital illustrations and am looking into ways to make some more premium options since I don't have originals for them. Using special paper and framing them are some good ideas. I also thought of applying gold leaf since to areas as I've seen some other artists doing that. Can't wait for more of these videos!

Interesting video and some great tips.
I usually exhibit at comic conventions, so most of the table is occupied by lots of different comics I've done, and some prints, but people lately are more interested in other merch (unfortunately for me), so I'll have to up my game, especially when it comes to prints (especially selection and packaging).
Also, you've been to Greece?! I wish I had known you, I could have given you some good tips. I wish you've had fun!!
    Have a great day!!

How do you make prints of your art? How to you photograph them? Do you use a company to deliver your prints? I'm new to this! Your artwork is beautiful :)

If you go on her website, she has a resource tab. She also has a video of photographing her pieces. If you search, it will pop up. :)

how do you sell printed stuff travelling? do you print them on the place where will you be or do you bring them with you travelling? please let me understand how an artist can do! I have been a backpacker until some years ago and.. I would really love to love selling my art, making them while travelling, but... I have always given up because of the weight of the printed materiale and so on.. so please may I ask you how do you do? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

Hi, how do you print your work/what sort of printing company do you use? I'm trying to find a print company in my country, but all the companies that do fine art prints charge very high prices. Is there a middle ground between highest quality and price and dirt cheap and poor quality?
