Well that was a blast from the past! Good to see Jussi and nice to hear the toughts on how it all ended! Joni Malmi next and maybe a re-watch of Euro gap movies for the holidays 😅
burnout happens to the best of us...I went on a 20 year hiatus from riding bc like Jussi said here it just stopped being fun..ffwd to 45yo and the stoke and fire was back..its a beautiful thing to put it down for awhile and rediscover the love all over again as if it were the very first time..
Same- it’s kinda like starting over again. Needed to sort out gear since my old boots and bindings were in operable, then just started laying down deep carves and praying for pow! I’ll still take a run or two through the park depending on conditions, I’ll go anywhere! I also got some skis recently! That’s been a trip! I raced in my youth. It’s amazing what comes back immediately and what doesn’t 🤣. I wonder if Jussi ever just burns a ton of laps. It’s fun without doing stunts :)
@@nrgplay26 sick thanks for sharing..thats pretty rad about breaking out the skis actually lol seeing the old guard still charge like T Richards Uncle Russ etc is also inspiring for us Gen Xers I think..was at Abasin back in Feb this year and did just that burn laps hauling ass fast as I could..the rush is still there for sure just blessed to be healthy enough to strap in
It’s great to get to know Jussi through the interview. I’ve spent years watching his video parts. His hysterical laughing in robot food afterbang still makes me laugh.
I used to be homeless living in my van doing lap.after lap looking at a sticker on the nose of my snowboard that said "going nowhere fast" after a season or two of staring at that sticker i had to make a break and get a real job, having two blown out knees helped too
hi guys! I still have my 159 Jussi pro model, the one with a music tape on it, really old and stiff, but so proud of it and his signature AK anorak! what a great man and rider..could you help me understanding the last part of the story, what was happening with the Tacoma?.. I'm from Italy and my english sometimes (often) is not good enough to understand properly everything..cheers and big up for the great job!
Stoked you still have that old board! Jussi switched his Tacoma truck for a Prius car which was another marker for his "retirement" since he used the truck to bring his snowmobile into the backcountry. Traded the truck for a car that was more of a family vehicle, hopefully that clarifies things!
I was like, I go there like, like my body was blown, like burned out like, like snowboarding, I did not like it anymore, like liking. You know. Like, I am out. I was like going home, like this is it, like for real.
Was such a great interview! Jussi will always be on my top 5. He really pushed me to jump better.
Stoked to have Jussi in studio to share stories from his life!
To this day, one of the most stylish riders of all time.
Jussi truly has timeless style on a snowboard!
Jussi was always my favorite rider and this story just made him my favorite person. Well done dude, you get to live two lives.
Stoked you like it! Check out our full interview with him if you haven’t already, we think you’ll really enjoy more stories from Jussi!
Jussi’s parts were always my favorite in most videos he was in. What a goat. Scary Avvy story, holy shit!!
Such a gnarly story!
A legend for sure, great interview!
Thanks for watching!

shredder! good call
Great video/story. He should have kept the Tacoma though 😂👍
Named my cat after Jussi
That’s so wholesome haha
What does he do now?
He’s a professional photographer now, check out our full interview with Jussi on our channel!
@TheBombHole good for him
I respect Jussi’s decision to end his filming career on his terms but he didn’t have to ditch the Tacoma.
I went Land Cruiser to Prius in 2012 and it was better than I thought it would be.

English isn’t Jussi’s native language hence a bit more “likes” when he speaks in English, check out our full interview with him to learn more!
