I would definitely love to see you do a let's play of The Sims 1! :) I actually prefer The Sims 1 and 2 over the newer ones personally. There's a certain little charm about the first one that I can't quite put my finger on. I love it, and it's still really a lot of fun to play!
I wonder if Livin' Large might not be as random as you made it out to be considering it was the very first expansion pack. I thought it was good for the time as it seemed to add a decent amount, and I always like to return to it although that could be due to me not caring that much about particular themes like magic or celebrities -- I never really bothered with downtown areas all that much, I guess the simplicity of trying to keep up motives, earn more simoleons, and advance careers was enthralling enough for me (it's been my recent gaming obsession). I always liked how strays would visit lots, and could be petted and even adopted, so I personally think most highly of Livin' Large and Unleashed while the others didn't mean as much to me (although I always loved the loading screen music for Superstar). "(vomit emoji)" seems like a harsh label/description, but I agree House Party didn't seem like a substantial addition. Admittedly, it seems fitting that the two oldest expansion packs got the lowest rankings while the newest one (Makin' Magic) ranked highest.
whaattt? Unleashed is god tier, the way they added an entire expansion to the neighborhood, community lots, farming and pets+npc animals. it was my favorite expansion pack back in the day. Hot Date and Makin' Magic were also complete game changers, I love them so much. House Party was the worst by far, the furniture and cas were ugly and random, and the only feature it came with was the ability to throw parties which wasn't all that interesting to me.

Pets expanded the original neighbour hood and added many more lots
I agree, only change unleashed for superstar, this add old city and a lot of life in the game.
I think you forgot that unleashed about tripled the size of the neighborhood and introduced a ton of new families

My favorite to least favorites would have to be: Makin Magic, Hot Date, Vacation, Superstar, Unleashed, Livin Large, and House Party
I bought The Sims back when it came out - Been simming off and on ever since ;-)
