I knew no.3 was the lord as soon as he opened his mouth. He was the only one with the true English aristocracy accent. His pronunciation of words ending in -ey and -y (as in really) gave him away!

I felt the same, plus he disagreed with #1, on the date of the title, and they normally go way back, not to the 1800s. John Henry Newman, was an Oxford Don, prominent in the Anglican high church movement, many of whom became Catholics. Cambridge has individual colleges which have deans. That business #2 said about rolling logs with just hands and gloves with no tool was just wrong. And if you knew anything about the aristocracy daughters of an English peer would be addressed as ladies. Also #3 rightly asked about about "in what way do you mean" for form of address, because peers of the realm depending on rank would be addressed in different ways. For instance a Duke would be "your grace." And thereafter as "sir." But 2 would have been the last one I voted for.

I knew the "Lord" was number 3 before he even said his name because he was aware he was being watched by lots of people and was looking in different directions....not making eye contact too long.... That's what British Elites do...

Does anyone else look up some of these contestants on the internet and wonder what's become of them after they appeared on "What's My Line?" I just can't help myself .... I DID find some info on
Mark Zetland/Lawrence Mark Dundas, 4th Marquess of Zetland, apparently his wife caused a vehicle accident a few yrs ago --- his Parliamentary career spanned about 10 yrs (until 1999) and he was in the Conservative Party (as most members of the aristocracy seem to be) ...Later in his life, Lord Dundas was appointed as the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of the North Yorkshire county.

Why is Polly asking German contestants about Paris as though Paris is in Germany? Is she confused?

Round # 3: I thought there was some kind of rule against asking contestants questions in foreign languages. However, Monique Van Vooren asked one of them in German, "Do you understand me?", and the contestant answered, "Of course!" Yet, Budd Collyer didn't disallow it. Did the rules change sometime within the course of the show?

I remember that on one of the few shows Dorothy k.did she was told not to ask that type of question..... it was not language based but similar

The name of the third contestant is certainly not “Vaskorff”! It sounds more like “Wasserkort”.
