  • The world has never made more informed decisions than today. We have so much data around us that shapes how we do things, the quality of services we receive and impacts the personal decisions we make. What some of us don’t do very well is leverage data’s potential. In this talk, Joseph Kachiliko speaks to the everyday person on the benefits of becoming more data literate. Joseph Kachiliko is passionate about computer science and using data analytics across professions. He also has a keen interest in Artificial Intelligence. He strives to be an impactful member of his local, African and Global communities by actively applying his acquired skills and collaborating in teams. Joseph has collaborated on data-driven business modelling with two emerging technology companies in Zambia and South Africa. He is a Data Expert IT Auditor at one of the world’s leading audit firms. Joseph also a co-leader at Zambia in Artificial Intelligence Community. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Summary:
"Data Science"? is a collection of scientific approaches to obtain meaning from data.
When data science using properly, it can bring development.
Data is abundant and we can find and collect it anywhere, even in our own life.
Being data scientists for ourselves, making a data-driven decision for life is possible.
I think our phone is the source of data, we can see the time we used our phone day to day and analyst what is most used and what is not.
We can collect data by counting our actions every day on our phones too. For example, our spending, the food that we consume, our exercise, etc.
We will become more aware and scientifically know ourselves.

Did a great job, this video is an eye-opener for all who say " I don't have enough data " !!
Data is everywhere, we just have to identify it & be able to put different scientific & mathematic tools to extract meaningful info out of it..
    Thanks Joseph !
