I think a good idea for temp storage to keep the mold out would be you buying a lot of big plastic tubs and putting the boxes in them so they're protected by something better by just regular big card board boxes
Seeing that Kamen Rider trumpet makes me wish we had Basco adapted as an extra form of Vrak in Super Megaforce, have the ranger key trumpet called the Clarion Commander too.
It's going to be a lot of work and take a lot of time but I hope your dreams/vision of your basement will come true one. I'll be here looking forward to it!
Bruno, have you considered getting a few pallets for storage? That would keep your boxes off the floor and would save them from being damaged by moisture. Wood pallets might work, but plastic pallets would be better.
I'm not worried. Once the things are in boxes, I'll just put the boxes somewhere they won't get wet. I have things for that. The bigger problem is where can I put the boxes where they won't be in the way. If the attic had a floor, they'd be up there yesterday!
I feel for your box situation. I eventually had to figure out something because I ran out of room but also didn't want to entirely get rid of them. What I compromised with was getting rid of the styrofoam/cardboard on the inside of those boxes and then breaking them down. That allowed me to at least keep the box.
Bruno, you wouldn't need a storage unit. You could invest in a nice shed or two from home depot or wherever that you can build in your backyard. I remember having one in ours when I was younger. Maybe get some of those plastic shelves you can build up in them too for the boxes.

@@DividedAsOne you're right that is a lot of boxes and you probably could do something better down there. Just spitballing I would think you could use some type of wiring to suspend the boxes. That way you're not punching holes in them to attach them to the ceiling nor are you using tape or adhesive that could damage the outside. It just depends on how badly you really want to save the boxes. I have seven kids so saving boxes is not an option with the exception of my Kyuranger boxes.
Great vlog as always. As for Facebook market place, both times I bought stuff on there, I met the seller at a public place. Something to think of if you're worried about privacy.

Target now has Back To The Future stuff for the 35th Anniversary this year that I collect. Whenever I see more Power Rangers Zords at Flea Markets or Garage Sales I still get it even if I already have one. It's alittle hard getting a house rebuilt to put things in cause its all getting more expensive out there.

If your property permits (has room, zoning allows, etc.), you could look into a storage container. There are pod size, 20-50' shipping containers and such that are privately available for owning and are air tight (won't grow mold). They can get pricey, but only once. You won't have to pay storage fees.
basement solution just get some plastic utility shelfs and just lay them on the floor and stack the boxes on them , thus allowing the floor to breath and keep the boxes safe, you can also get a dehumidifier that covers the square footage of your basement to stop the mildew and moisture , also make sure your down spouts are not to close to the house , also flooding can be caused by improper or damaged rain gutters , i know this cause my front walk and driveway constantly flooded and ended up flooding my garage , until i got new gutters put on my house

You don't need a shed, just some planning. Check the Divided as One Messenger on Facebook to see a possible layout of your basement and then maybe we can help deign some walls electronically before building them physically. Your home has lots of room, just needs some planners and designers.
Hearing the reasons as to not selling things and then hearing the small stories from the UPS store alone leads me believe 2 things: the first is that you’ve been abandoned spiritually if you think going to a UPS to track down someone is ok and the second being you don’t demand to see that persons mail.

Not only thought about it, I've made a book (but for my personal collection). I've wanted to do something to sell forever, but a combination of time, how would we sell it, and what rights do we need to worry about always kinda prevent it from going anywhere. I see other people have been doing essentially my idea with TMNT and other things. Not sure if they had to clear anything or just went and did it.

How much space are you needing to store all that stuff? What about building a raised shed out in your yard, raising it would help against flooding. It would be right there in your yard for quick access. I think some shed companies do a monthly payment option plan and some may even pre build shelves in them. Money that instead of going to a storage unit could go to the shed. That you would own and adding another selling point to the house if you ever move.
I had a similar water problem with one of the walls in my basement. They came and drilled holes in the wall and the amount of water that was being held within the foundation was absolutely astounding. It was expensive to fix for sure, but it's probably a good thing that we did it.
Have been a fan of yours for years and I absolutely love the collection you have gathered over the past 25-26 years and I know a thing or two about faulty storage. No matter what solution comes to mind there is always another problem that needs addressing until you're just done with it for the day. I am sorry that you cannot find your solution yet, it always seems to boil down to the fact that you do not have the money to do what you want with your house, a message that I think people are missing. But I believe that eventually, you will get the results that you desire for your wonderful home, which in itself is a culmination of years and years of waiting to make your move. I love looking at the man who owns almost every power ranger/super sentai toy in existence and I always wondered how you were able to keep track and make everything at least manageable, which to me it seems to be, little by little anyway. That'd be great, but where does the shed go? Who is going to build it? How much will it cost? It'll need to be large, safe from water/animals/etc etc. There isn't anything we haven't thought of. It's all about time & $$$.
I completely understand on the storage issue, a unit would be too much money a month, it'd be better to invest in a couple of sheds to keep them in. I though of flattening all my boxes into 1 tote and putting the styrofoam into another by sticking post it notes on both to match the box to the insert. It'd cut space in half but its time consuming. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
I bought the Starlight Studio Shogun parts, too, and my chest piece has the same issue. I think it needs to be threaded better, if it’s threaded at all. The screw only goes so far. I’m jealous that yours holds the sword. Neither my blue or white Shogun Zords can hold the weight.
Have you considered buying a storage shed for your backyard to help mitagate some of the clutter within the garage and basement? Obviously it couldn’t sustain all of the boxes but it might help and would be more convinent.
I swear, if it's an option, we've thought of it. Would LOVE a shed. Where does it go? How much does it cost? We looked at a lot of houses that had, or had a place for a shed, or even a barn. But, this house doesn't really have a place for a structure.

I searched gao panda and found out apparently there’s a green(ish) hippo zord in that season. I knew Wild Force had a bunch of zords but damn. Were there some that didn’t make it? I know every season has zords that don’t make it over but geez. Also I’m salty we’re not getting the Go-Busters Frog in America 😞
Did you see a fan thing...? There's no green hippo toy, nor did it appear in either series. Pretty sure it wasn't even at the very end when all of the animals appeared... there are some very cool customs out there though.
Hey Bruno, may I suggest E6000 glue for that chest plate for that Shogun Megazord. Also try buying large storage containers for your boxes so you don't risk getting them water damaged.
Sure... but now I've ruined the boxes and made a bigger mess. What to do with the inserts and Zords that were inside? Foam doesn't flatten. I've just separated everything that was together and ended up with more things that need to be stored differently, which were packed better and taking up less space before taking everything apart...
The attic's not so accessible. The garage and basement would be good workspaces. The attic could be better for just putting things we're not using but not trying to get rid of. The idea of making the attic livable is nice though. We've thought about that too. Everything costs $$$ though.
@@DividedAsOne true, true though Ikea flat packs on shelves are good even the cube storage system would be good for getting the boxes off the floor and somewhere that can be accessible and labeled for each season and such. Like Kyuranger could have two rows to itself easily from top to bottom, I'm looking a 2x3 cube storage for my wardrobe so that I can go through the tubs I have and move what doesn't need to be them into storage boxes or have them in their boxes in one square. I'm also trying to get a monitor so that I can move my Nintendo Switch and Xbox ONE s onto my desk and have room the new Xbox Series X to free two squares in a 2x2 cube storage unit for Kamen Ride Saber stuff to display, though I have the wall space to mount the bigger weapons from that line on my wall for display pieces just need to find the studs to make sure that they aren't going to fall down during the night
I've had to make some tough calls with boxes, etc. in recent years. Personally for things like the Super Minipla where the item can't really go back in the box, or the box isn't meant to be closed, I just cut out the front of the box for like a wall frame or poster display. Can't apply to everyone's situation of course. I hope in time that basement is beautiful and perfect the way you envision.
I stayed to the end bud. What about getting ceiling storage racks for the basement and the garage? Not very cheap but you could store all of them and be able to find them quicker.

Showing off the Ibuki trumpet..... I always hope that they might do a CSM (collector version) of it but sadly the interest in Hibiki isn't very high -.- I get the second half isn't great but a music themed rider series was so unique!!! I loved it and clearly Bandai should make toys based on my demand, right? XD

As a Star Wars collector I have dealt with this storage issue,. Bins are your best friends. Start looking around Christmas for good discounted ones. A dehumidifier in that basement is needed. That mold needs to be tested and hope its not Black Mold. That stuff can destroy a collection.
We're probably gonna need more than a dehumidifier down there, eventually, anyway. Ultimately, I'd like to move the boxes up to the attic, but we need a floor up there. Target was cleaned out of bins last night. We buy them as we're able to. I couldn't even guess how many bins we've already got so far... we come home with 10 at a time and they like vanish into a black hole! It's like socks in the dryer.
You could sell what you don't really occupy or put on the showcase and as for the boxes (here in Chile at least, I don't know the system there, you could recycle all the boxes and receive a few dollars) keep moving them like dead weight sooner or later they go away to ruin anyway, they are boxes with more than 20 years.
If I sold the collection, I could probably buy another house in this neighborhood 😁 But knowing me, I'd just end up trying to buy back whatever I sold. Tempting though!
Ok ok just hear me out...... I’m not sure How you feel about breaking the the boxes down (carefully of course) putting them in one box and putting the styrofoam in another and labeling the Styrofoam to what set I goes to I know this is probably the most time-consuming way but I think it might save you space and storage boxes
So I'd be potentially damaging the boxes, and I'm making more of a mess. Now I'd have a large pile of cardboard, and all of the inserts... doesn't that kinda make what I'm storing bigger? And now I''ve separated the boxes from the inserts... that just sounds like a massive headache for a bigger mess. I don't think it's a solution....
And this is why I haven't been collecting Power Rangers and Super Sentai stuff the last 2 years and instead have been collecting what I enjoy more. Trains. And I'm hoping to get a certain locomotive for my o gauge collection.
Ok here is some advice. You can not use your house you can use the police station or use your roommate to deliver the stuff or you can put mail only. You do not have to meet people to sell them you can put down mail only

The empty cardboard boxes can at least be folded up. The Japanese boxes are awesome. I definitely keep mine.
Any empty boxes I have are either flattened, or housing other boxes.

You saw what is happening with the rug chances are it is the same thing with the bins ( team Mia)
Once you get the basement refinished I can see it easily becoming a studio/ museum.
If you an extra thunder megazord I recommend it blowing one up one

Made it to the end! I am shocked you were even able to keep all that stuff in the tiny California House. I know the garage was basically a storage unit and that you had a little less stuff.

Build a large shed for the boxes
That'd be great, but where does the shed go? Who is going to build it? How much will it cost? It'll need to be large, safe from water/animals/etc etc. There isn't anything we haven't thought of. It's all about time & $$$.
Could you maybe do a large enough shed and weatherize it?
Where will it come from? Where will it go? Who will pay for it...? Certainly an option if there's space and money for it...
I completely understand on the storage issue, a unit would be too much money a month, it'd be better to invest in a couple of sheds to keep them in. I though of flattening all my boxes into 1 tote and putting the styrofoam into another by sticking post it notes on both to match the box to the insert. It'd cut space in half but its time consuming. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
I bought the Starlight Studio Shogun parts, too, and my chest piece has the same issue. I think it needs to be threaded better, if it’s threaded at all. The screw only goes so far.
I’m jealous that yours holds the sword. Neither my blue or white Shogun Zords can hold the weight.
Have you considered buying a storage shed for your backyard to help mitagate some of the clutter within the garage and basement? Obviously it couldn’t sustain all of the boxes but it might help and would be more convinent.
I swear, if it's an option, we've thought of it. Would LOVE a shed. Where does it go? How much does it cost? We looked at a lot of houses that had, or had a place for a shed, or even a barn. But, this house doesn't really have a place for a structure.

I searched gao panda and found out apparently there’s a green(ish) hippo zord in that season. I knew Wild Force had a bunch of zords but damn. Were there some that didn’t make it? I know every season has zords that don’t make it over but geez. Also I’m salty we’re not getting the Go-Busters Frog in America 😞
Did you see a fan thing...? There's no green hippo toy, nor did it appear in either series. Pretty sure it wasn't even at the very end when all of the animals appeared... there are some very cool customs out there though.

Hey Bruno, may I suggest E6000 glue for that chest plate for that Shogun Megazord. Also try buying large storage containers for your boxes so you don't risk getting them water damaged.
My advice. Floor and a small window a/c unit in the attic and store stuff there.

Sure... but now I've ruined the boxes and made a bigger mess. What to do with the inserts and Zords that were inside? Foam doesn't flatten. I've just separated everything that was together and ended up with more things that need to be stored differently, which were packed better and taking up less space before taking everything apart...

The attic's not so accessible. The garage and basement would be good workspaces. The attic could be better for just putting things we're not using but not trying to get rid of. The idea of making the attic livable is nice though. We've thought about that too. Everything costs $$$ though.
@@DividedAsOne true, true though Ikea flat packs on shelves are good even the cube storage system would be good for getting the boxes off the floor and somewhere that can be accessible and labeled for each season and such. Like Kyuranger could have two rows to itself easily from top to bottom, I'm looking a 2x3 cube storage for my wardrobe so that I can go through the tubs I have and move what doesn't need to be them into storage boxes or have them in their boxes in one square. I'm also trying to get a monitor so that I can move my Nintendo Switch and Xbox ONE s onto my desk and have room the new Xbox Series X to free two squares in a 2x2 cube storage unit for Kamen Ride Saber stuff to display, though I have the wall space to mount the bigger weapons from that line on my wall for display pieces just need to find the studs to make sure that they aren't going to fall down during the night

I've had to make some tough calls with boxes, etc. in recent years. Personally for things like the Super Minipla where the item can't really go back in the box, or the box isn't meant to be closed, I just cut out the front of the box for like a wall frame or poster display. Can't apply to everyone's situation of course. I hope in time that basement is beautiful and perfect the way you envision.
You should move everything to a secure place in the house, then decide which place remodel to use for your stuff
I stayed to the end bud. What about getting ceiling storage racks for the basement and the garage? Not very cheap but you could store all of them and be able to find them quicker.

As a Star Wars collector I have dealt with this storage issue,. Bins are your best friends. Start looking around Christmas for good discounted ones. A dehumidifier in that basement is needed. That mold needs to be tested and hope its not Black Mold. That stuff can destroy a collection.
We're probably gonna need more than a dehumidifier down there, eventually, anyway. Ultimately, I'd like to move the boxes up to the attic, but we need a floor up there. Target was cleaned out of bins last night. We buy them as we're able to. I couldn't even guess how many bins we've already got so far... we come home with 10 at a time and they like vanish into a black hole! It's like socks in the dryer.

You could sell what you don't really occupy or put on the showcase and as for the boxes (here in Chile at least, I don't know the system there, you could recycle all the boxes and receive a few dollars) keep moving them like dead weight sooner or later they go away to ruin anyway, they are boxes with more than 20 years.

Ok ok just hear me out...... I’m not sure How you feel about breaking the the boxes down (carefully of course) putting them in one box and putting the styrofoam in another and labeling the Styrofoam to what set I goes to I know this is probably the most time-consuming way but I think it might save you space and storage boxes
So I'd be potentially damaging the boxes, and I'm making more of a mess. Now I'd have a large pile of cardboard, and all of the inserts... doesn't that kinda make what I'm storing bigger? And now I''ve separated the boxes from the inserts... that just sounds like a massive headache for a bigger mess. I don't think it's a solution....
And this is why I haven't been collecting Power Rangers and Super Sentai stuff the last 2 years and instead have been collecting what I enjoy more. Trains. And I'm hoping to get a certain locomotive for my o gauge collection.
Ok here is some advice. You can not use your house you can use the police station or use your roommate to deliver the stuff or you can put mail only. You do not have to meet people to sell them you can put down mail only
