I find it amazing what all the women do in these phases of starting and maintaining the homesteads that are springing up in these regions throughout North America. The land needs to be cleared and trees need to be cut down, some for lumber and others will do as firewood. And how are these logs moved? By dedication and strong will of the woman and the man: total cooperation, with no spoken word. And there they go, not walking along a nicely cleared path but virgin bush with live and dead trees forming obstacles to go around. And how are the trees cut? In the former days and even today with just an axe, or if blessed today perhaps with a chain saw, the biggest they could afford. HATS OFF TO THE WOMEN WHO PERSERVERED AND DID NOT COMPLAIN! And a cheer to the husband who stood at e, encouraging, congratulating, standing in awe of the efforts of his partner! And so the homestead was build, one board, one nail or peg at a time!
I use to work in a level 3 trauma center and one morning a man came in bleeding from his head. Upon further examination he had scalped himself with a drill when a soft breeze came and his lose long hair touched the bit and wound around until his scalp came off his his skull. I am 100% NOT Kidding!! That was the first time I had ever seen a human bone inside a living human. Please ALWAYS keep your hair up in a bun!
Thank you for mentioning this. Chop saws are typically not set on the ground for use and when she bent over and her hair fell forward I cringed, lol. I see it way too often with these homesteading channels- women using power tools with their loose long hair. It only takes a breeze or a slip of the hand. I get a bit aggravated sometimes that even tho the female spouse is willing, the male doesn’t protect her and realize her limitations with upper body strength and overall strength. Remember guys, this is why we have separate male and female sports competitions!! Lol.
It’s amazing that you need more lumber so you guy’s just go out on your land and harvest trees, mill trees and keep on building! I love it! Both of you work so hard. You make a good team!
You guys work really hard I watched when you sold your home packed up and moved to Alaska built a home mostly alone and had a baby.I am impressed with you two your definitely serivers. @@remotelifealaskaI'm sure it's on the list then because using the tools under cover would make it easier and save the tools. I understand only so much space
Any plans for a guest cabin?? Cutting those trees is making a nice path around ur property. U 2 make it look so easy, great job! Love the longer videos 😊🕯💜
Good lord!! I have tried to watch this channel a couple of times, but cannot listen to how condescending she is while he is doing the bulk of the work.
I feel anxiety when you're mad at Kody. Maybe if you edited those parts out and Inserted more fun, love and laughter scenes you would attract more views and subscribers. 😊

We lived a season in Petersville. Love your progress. (Please tie your hair back when using power tools!)
Yes, tie your hair back and get rid of strings on hoodies. If caught they can pull the saw right to your face.
Excellent advice, and safety glasses too😎

It likely won’t make it into this building unfortunately.

Long term our current cabin will likely become a guest cabin.
You should've been cutting down 6 months ago whether you needed it for lumber or firewood. You always need to think ahead. Prepare, Prepare, Prepare.
Dead standing spruce is
best cut down as needed
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Some timber some burning wood. Good. I heard some gad snow in Alaska this past week. Did you have August snow too?
It will be a while for us yet. Some high elevations and far North areas have had dustings.

I may do most of the heavy lifting, but she contributes equally when not tending to Rowan.
Dont know what you are seeing but it sure looks like she does her share of the work!
