He receives judgement from what he deems as his home country (PH) and yet he also feels a little bit like a stranger in his other home country (IN). He looks like an Indian but in words, in deeds and in his heart he's a Filipino.

      Correct!

    In the US I meet a Indian guy who is an Uber driver , I was surprised when he found out I was Filipino and he started speaking to me in Tagalog , I was so surprised and happy , he grew up in Manila not only that but in my travels to the Caribbean and Spain , I also meet an Indian who owns a business and speaks fluent Tagalog and call Philippines as their home , it is such a good feeling to hear them speak your language and know much about the Filipino culture. Philippines needs more people like them .

Ang advantage lang sa kanila ay karamihan mga well off sila kaya nirerespeto ng mga locals.

    I am married to an Indian whom I met in Singapore. Pinoys in SG also have stereotype whenever an Indian is with a Filipina - the Indian is a construction worker and the Filipina is a domestic help. The stereotype is no big deal for me and my then Indian boyfriend, but the stares were really uncomfortable...I hope one day people learn to forget stereotypes, we should not judge others without knowing more of the person.

      So many Chinese people, wherever in the world, look down on their fellow Asians and on poorer nationalities, not realizing that they have enriched themselves in poor countries with their businesses whose patrons are those poor nationalities they look down on. Had they remained in China, they may have been still poor or just ordinary and not high class or so they think.

    Philippines and Russia are the only countries on which we indians trust the most. Recently, we gave them the fastest supersonic cruise missile of the world (Brahmos).
    We are also ready to gave them the hypersonic missile which can achieve the speed of mach 24 after terminal phase. No country in the world will be able to stop this missile.

    Nice interview Kakampi. We all thank you expats for staying and loving our country. Jerry is Filipino. I live abroad, so many Indians here, too. They are one of the best, Jerry. Indians are citizens of the world. I met an Indian who was born and raised in Japan. Imagine his fluency in Nippongo and the culture he grew up with? I could have mistaken him for the real Japanese blood if I only listened to his voice and did not meet him. Anyways to kakampi, please feature more interviews on expats living in the Philippines.

    I agree with Jerry's perspective on the need for Filipinos to enhance their understanding of one another. It is important to move beyond temporary acceptance and strive for a more inclusive mindset, as sometimes we are being judgmental towards others do restricts our growth and limits our ability to learn and develop. By embracing a more open-minded approach, we can find inspiration to improve ourselves and contribute positively to our community.A community that embodies virtues such as compassion and knowledge, and actively engages in activities that promote a good quality of life, is likely to experience progress and growth.

    Para sa akin , walang masama kung IMMIGRANT ang isang tao as long na hindi ka gumagawa ng masama sa iyong kapwa . Matuto lang rumespeto sa kultura at way of living ng bansang napili mong tirhan (STAY ) In my own experienced , nakaranas na ako ng di magandang attitude (RUDE) sa mga CAUCASIANS , BLACK , ETC ETC SKINNED COLOR PEOPLE , pero di ko sila nilalahat . RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT ika nga . Nakalulungkot nga lang maraming tao na mapanghusga sa kapwa , TITINGNAN ka sa panlabas na anyo mo WHICH is MALI . Mas importante DAPAT ang panloob na ANYO ng isang TAO . Sa iyo JERRY SALUDO ako ; Ipagpatuloy mo ang pagiging PINOY sa PUSO mo . GOD bless

    Ignore those haters and racist. You are Filipino and not Indian. You born and went to school in Philippines and live in that country for the rest of your life. So you're Filipino and that's what you tell anyone questioning your country. Also tell them you have same rights.

    To me stereotyping yes it can be a culture problem but it is more so of a person/ individual thing. Speaking of that Filpinos have a stigma too one of the most notable is when you say PH it is equivalent to DH. However, most of us know that we are more than that. To those who say those things to me what matters more is who you are and Filipinos in general are looking at the inner than the outer. Some are bad apples sure but that is the same no matter where or what country you go too. We take the good and the bad.

    • @PutingPinoy
      @PutingPinoy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just to clarify, you are meaning to reaffirm the anti-stereotyping, anti-racist message of the movie? Am I correct in my understanding of your message?

    • @ravemasterharu
      @ravemasterharu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PutingPinoy yes and to recognize that regardless of race it will always be there, A factor in play can be cultural yes but it is as much if not more on individual too. Upbringing and moral stance has a greater effect on this. To put it bluntly human nature is always capable of creation and destruction it is just a matter of who is making that choice.

    With each generation that comes the modern Filipino becomes more diversely ambiguous in term of blood mix demography.
    Our country is a true cross-road and melting pot and this our people come in many colors from many cultures.
    I no longer find it surprising to see either western, Afro, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Latin and middle Eastern looking people are actually Pinoys by blood and culture. That is how diverse our society and people are now.

    What a beautiful family! This videos is so adorable 🥰
    The Philippines has changed, there are many cultures who immigrate and their kids grow up there. I was born in the Philippines but grew up in Canada.
    I’ve come across Punjabis in Canada who speak perfect Tagalog waaay better than me because they grew up in the Philippines and went to school there. It’s just like Canada not everyone is white. There are Punjabis who are born in the Philippines and identify themselves as Filipino.
    For me and my dad they think we’re foreigners because i have big eyes and Im tall and my dad looks Japanese/ Korean but we’re full Filipinos who were born in the Philippines as our ancestors. They don’t treat us different but they will stare. They stared at us more than at my white Australian brother in law!
