  • Take a close up tour of what is arguably the world's first SUV. Do a walk around.hear the engine. explore the three stick shift transmission. learn of the amazing adjustability of the dashboard for right vs left hand driving. In its day, it was one of the best SUVs of all time. Though today, it is clearly considered older technology.
Some of the highlights in this inside report: Its creation as a postwar farm vehicle for the masses, the recreational uses it served, "open tailgate driving"...

Love the wood paneling. They are often painted to look like woodies.

I tend to pronounce it "Will-ees", but if you find some old company commercials or trade show videos, they pronounce it "Will-is.'

Mr Willys used to pronounce his name like th old commercials would "Will-is"
But, like you, most people including myself, just say "Willees".
      Thanks, Cat.

You would think the inventor would know how to pronounce his own name. Will-iss like you said, that's how it was in the commercials.

That suggests there are still a number of them around.
Are they still being driven there?
