This is their best era. So sharp and mean. Glad I got to see them a few times back then. Great recording and even better performance. Loudest concert I ever attended was Devo in San Fran. Still have not recovered.

Man, description says incredible sound. You weren't kidding. After 10 beers, a spliff and capable headphones, i was fucking THERE! Thank you so much for this :)
I'm going to see them LIVE next Sunday 26/11/23 Darling Harbour Theatre at ICC Sydney, NSW It's their Farewell Tour, their Goodbye to the World. 50 Years of DEVO!!!!!!!!
I kinda feel sorry for millennials and shit for missing this era. It was wicked. And DEVO's philosophy of De-evolution gets more profound each year....
Wow just wow! Thanks for this amazing upload. Amazing quality and they were at the top of their game this night. Sound insane. What I wouldn't do to transport back and see this show live.
Living in Buenos Aires I never had the opportunity of seeing them live, when the B-52's came around here i kept the hope...now with Bob C. gone, all i can say is thank you Devo...And this recording is unbelievable, thanks to the people who share this
Holy shit. I grew up near here! The Walker Art Center is a great museum; In 2000, after I'd moved to CA, I was back in Mpls for a couple weeks & I got free tix to see Sonic Youth & Stereolab playing outside, in the driveway/ front of the place, between the building & the awesome sculpture garden. Killer show!!
This is fantastic, sounds like it was recorded last week, thanks for finding this and uploading it. Now all we need is someone to have filmed it aswell !
I've mixed audio for hundreds of live shows and nothing has come through any of the venues I've worked at that even comes close. Maybe the Tuvan Throat Singers, Alash, but that's only a maybe.
What most people didn't understand was how punk they really were in the beginning. Besides us hardcore fans most didn't take them seriously. And they really veered away from this harder sound. The later material was also great but definitely a different vibe.
warms my heart hearing Robert Mothersbaugh sr. (General Boy) getting involved and being so supportive of his son's and their friend's band.
That is cool! I didnt know. Thanks.
One could argue they were at the height of their power during this time period. This set is blisteringly raw and tight.

You can practically hear them jumping back and forth on Uncontrollable Urge. gives me goosebumps!

Wow what an art museum that has great concerts. What was the capacity of the hall or auditorium where this was held.
Devo Live are the best
So great to hear Alan Myers. He was amazing.

26:42 as far as I'm concerned this is the definitive recording of Smart Patrol/Mr DNA

Indeed. Brilliant drummer. RIP.
He's such a a great drummer. It takes a true pro like Josh to fill his shoes.

Ni ni ni n n n n n n n nice!
She bought herself a BRAND NEW CAR! It didn't get her very faaaaaar...
In 1979, nothing worked very well.
What most people didn't understand was how punk they really were in the beginning. Besides us hardcore fans most didn't take them seriously. And they really veered away from this harder sound. The later material was also great but definitely a different vibe.
( looks the same than the live in Bristol, UK of dec. 1978 )
Alain? Where's the vid for this??!! You are the DEVO video god!! lol
Janice J. I don't give everything to youtube world ..I keep some videos secret for the future !!
Oh, you are just being mean Alain! You are a great big tease! :P
amazing sound!! Wherein "BOB"'s name did you find this?
DoktorAmazing -ddr4taffy reborn- it's one of
my fave Devo bootlegs to play on CD in the car!
I wanted to go but the girl I asked said WHY would you want to see punk rock?
Alan Myers was a human metronome. May he rest in peace.
The Beatles may have been unintentionally subversive, but Devo was intentionally subversive. They were in your face.
I hate how in the 70s they ran the vocals way too hot and the band way too low. I swear they did that to every fucking act.
