      Well when I first started I only got paid $24 per electric bill and I’d do 5 a day. Now I get paid $100 per electric bill still doing 5 a day. Then I also when I have a team get paid a percentage of their deals as well. The most I’ve mad in a month was $16k all door to door income. The 60k in 3 months , 40k of that was mine, 20k of it was my wife’s because I made her the leader of my organization

    I was a US Navy recruiter, I also trained recruiters and evaluated them. I sold Cadillacs and then insurance, P&C, and all lines, but 80% P&C. Here's what my advice is on sales. The first is to know your product inside and out. Over 80% of your sales are based on product knowledge, that is fulfilling a NEED or a WANT, and knowing when there is a difference. When I sold Cadillacs we used to have what was known as Walk-Around competitions. The GM would have each of us do a walk around (Demonstrate all the major features and give key points within 4 minutes) on a certain model and then he would ask us different questions. Such as how much torque? How much room in the trunk, can I fit two bags of clubs? What size spare tires, what kind of tires, are they all season? Gas mileage, how much oil? How long is the corrosion warranty, etc? The fewer questions he asked, the better your walk around was. The walkaround had only one purpose, to build the value of the car to match the price. The top person got a 100 dollar bill. Second place got a 20, third got a 10. Next is PMA, Positive Mental Attitude, believing in your product, and yourself. Next, how to handle objections, what do you say when they say NO. How many objections should you handle before you say "Thank you for your time". And how to close by asking trial questions. For example, "So if we can get the car in the color you want, and give you so much for your trade, would that be enough to move ahead?" Or, "So, based on what you have seen heard does this sound like something you are interested in pursuing?" If they say yes, stop selling, they just bought.

      First and foremost thank you for your service ! I’m a 4 year Army veteran myself and I had two interviews recently involving door to door sales and so far it sounds like I’m about to get the job. I’m glad I took the time to read your comment. Very constructive and I love how you went in detail and shared your personal experience with Cadillac. It makes perfect sense for anyone selling a product to know all about what it is they’re selling to establish trust between them and the clients they interact with. I’m going to take the time to research the company products and a few competitors as well that way I’m as equipped as possible when it comes to knowledge of the products I’ll be selling. I appreciate you for sharing this man.

    • @jerlewis4291
      @jerlewis4291 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ccoldtruths7855 Door to door is tough, and with Ring cameras now don't be surprised when they don't even open the door. If I were you and you really wanted to get into sales, I would recommend going to a large dealership and seeing if they are hiring. Most dealers have a training program. I went through the Cadillac program, and it was extremely hard. You should also look into insurance, you have to take a test to see what your personality is (They are looking for people who are motivated by money.) See if MetLife or Prudential is hiring. But first I would read up on Zig Zigler and also a book called Sell the Sizzle. Here's tip, everyone has a Dominant Buying Motive, and you should be able to identify it.based on what they tell you. Sales are fulfilling a need, that is what it all comes down to. I sold one of the first Escalades in my market to a guy who traded in a one-year-old El Dorado that we had sold him. He wanted to be the first one to show it off. That is a need and a want right there. My GM didn't want to sell the car, because no one had them on the lot, but the owner said to let it go.

    • @jerlewis4291

      @Acquired Cents Too bad you never learned to actually sell. We’re on different planets, I’m talking about $60,000 cars, or intangible items.

    At age 60, locating a routine job is difficult. Canvassing areas around where we live makes sense. Most people are home during the weekends and at work on weekdays. There are about ten thousand homes in my Atlanta neighborhood. The Artison handmade soap will go for $7.00 each and my poetry book is priced at $15.00. I think a basic web site is a must as well. It is good to see younger people getting away from screens and going door to door. I have an advantage in that I live close by and don't mind telling people where to find me. I always dress up and use a cane to climb steps. Young people should also look presentable with a suit and tie or dress business attire for women. Use only three knocks or ring the bell. In other words, don't be loud and sound like a bill collector. I hope this helps. Please share your thoughts. Janet Busener

      @@titonothere6179 so I went and we got a LOT of MIXED feedback. My pitch is a $5 Bill Analysis wear we basically audit everyone's tv bill, phone bill, internet bill, electric bill, and home security bill. If we can't save them at least 10% or more the service is free. No one let us in but they did ask to be put on our email list to schedule a zoom for us to go over everything remotely.
      I knocked around 120 doors (not that many I know) and got about 5 solid leads and all of them but one asked to keep a brochure. We got some praise for going door to door in this climate but we also got around 5 or 6 people who essentially scolded us and didn't even bother answering. Overall I claim it as a success and I fully intend to keep at it!

    My 2 years in sales was one of the biggest waste of times I’ve ever had in my life. It put my career old hold thinking that it will eventually work out. I decided to bail on sales as soon as I had my epiphany; got a job while I finished my degree (I made 50,000 a year waiting tables) and now I get to watch all of these bullshit videos saying how people make 100k a year making sales!

    • @huntervasquez115
      @huntervasquez115 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I make 350-550k a year. That’s a rough average. When I first started I made 28k in 2 months. You have to bust your ass and be consistent when you work. You just did it wrong or didn’t have correct training..

    D2D is not very safe. When there is a delay, and the homeowner keeps their right hand behind their hip, you should wonder what they are holding. Other people with you don't matter. Mag capacity is 10 to 21. DO NOT approach within arm's reach. After they refuse 3 times, you are in serious danger. When they order you to leave, you and your partners are seconds from dying, if you don't comply. In my location, there are home invasions every day.
