DUUUUKE !! Great to see all the boyz back together for what could possibly be the last ride of the season. The 65 degree weather coming this week will destroy what’s left of the trails.. We can only hope March goes out with a bang !! Take Care Buddy ❄❄
Thanks Greg! Duke's first real ride of the season and probably the only. I burned through a carbide on this ride. It left the left ski wearbar about 1/8" thick flat. Good thing I checked it. That is part of the reason why I didn't go back today. I think it's all over for this season. Only 5 days of riding this season for me and approximately 600 miles. Ttyl buddy.
@@Paisteboy 600 miles is much better than what I put on this season 🤣 I got a big goose egg. 🥚 First time ever for me I totaled zero miles for a season. Waaaah waaah waaaaaaah.. Oh well, The ole Cat will be ready for next season. 🤙🏼 I’m curious if they’re going to have any snow left for snofest this Fri and Sat. I really wanted to demo the new 858 Catalyst.
You really didn't miss much and you didn't damage your sled on these less than ideal trail conditions. It even sounds like Maine had a crappy season too. I don't think there will be anything left on the trails for Dirtfest... I mean Snofest. 😂
@@Paisteboy One of my buddies was up in Aroostook Maine this past week and said it was really cold but the trails were less than ideal for Feb riding as they haven’t received any snow in awhile. He said the main trail to Lakeview Restaurant was bad and chose to find another way back down to Eagle Lake where they were staying. He said the trails were the worst he’s seen up there. I would have hated to drive 13+ hrs for mediocre riding conditions at best.
Absolutely. That's too bad. One Of my subscribers messaged me that he had booked a trip to Maine and then I ended up running into him just by chance at a local restaurant and he said he canceled the trip because of lack of snow.
Thanks 👍. I don't do it for every video since it would get repetitive but I figured we had quite the group of sleds and some never seen before that it made sense to call them out this time. I'd do the roads more often if I knew where we were half the time. lol. The trails tend to look the same watching back the video at times. Thanks for watching Jeff.
Paisteboy, like when you go over the sled packages and who's riding what. Some discussion on accessories and such would be cool too. Glad you folks are getting out and making the best of a lack luster winter. Keep the great vids coming!
Well, you all timed that right. We rode up from Hinckley reservoir on Wednesday 21st and it was horrific. dirt, rocks, mud. Grueling lower tug trails littered with idler wheels. Once we got up there, all those trails you guys rode on; all moguls, with an occasional flat run.I felt bad for our new sleds. No damage, but not much fun. Great vid on the last ride! My total mileage this year: just under 400. See you all next big snow!
That's exactly why I didn't go there today. I actually destroyed one of my carbides on this run from the thin areas on the season roads. Most of the areas were decent but I guess it was worth going for this video. Thanks for watching Andy.
So we did our trip to fort Kent maine all in all trails were great. New sleds preformed awesome. I saw one of Gregg's sometime is now stickers at a trailside shack. The only hitch was a flat trailer tire on the way home. No big deal. The food was good everywhere we went. It's amazing what the groomers could do with such little snow. Great trip.
Very cool! I'm glad it was worth going. We were there this time last year and the trails were amazing! I want to go back next season if possible. Thanks for watching.
Great video as always! I was up in the Adirondacks that weekend, we rode around rainbow, tupper, and saranac lakes, and lake clear. Great conditions with very cold air. Hope we get another storm in the entire state! Love the videos Paisteboy
I really enjoyed your video I believe your friends will like watching these and years to come as has gonna be there glory days. I wish some of my mind were taped. Of course, we didn't have the equipment like you do today.😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I hear ya. The only video I have from my Youth snowmobiling was when we were in our early 20's and we waterskipped across Shag's pond. The video in on my channel. Recorded with a VHS-C. Zuke and I started riding when I was about 12. We will be watching these many years down the road. Thanks for watching Chuck.
Nice video! When you asked Parker about what he thought when he switched sleds with Zuke is exactly what I feel about the difference between the new sleds and my 16 Blizzard. I'm a shorter guy too and I feel sooo comfortable on the 16. Plus it has a windshield!!! Hahaha. My sons 24 Lynx is a very smooth machine and fast but even he was like... Damn this thing ain't bad when we switch. Lol I'm like 40 miles away from 12000 original miles on it. That 800 still rocks!!! But it's been well taken care of over the years!
That's awesome! I agree. That's why I talk up the Blizzard so much. I would let Zuke try my sled and I would be happy to ride his Blizzard but he doesn't have a heated shield plug for my Oxygen helmet. I didn't care for the way any of his previous sleds rode. We may have to wait until next season to switch sleds. Thanks for watching Rob.
@@Paisteboy what a bummer of a winter. Our Canadian ride got cancelled in Ontario and to drive another 5 hours just didn't seem worth it. Looking back... maybe we should have gone. Lol 520 miles on the 16 Blizzard and 60 miles on the 94 Skidoo formula this year and I think I'm a lucky one compared to some people.
Yup. That's right about what I have for the season as well. I could have put on a few more miles on with some sketchy days that I could have gone but didn't. I don't want to beat up my sled. It's bad enough that this ride anillated one of my carbides and 1 more ride without noticing it would have ruined my ski. Probably have to wait until next season from the way it's looking.
Yes. It destroyed what was left of my left ski carbide skeg. Another hour or so of those thin roads and I would have damaged my ski. I checked before we left and noticed that most of the carbide was gone on that ski but the wearbar was 100 percent. That ride took it down to nothing! Thanks for watching.
Thanks! Will do! It may have to wait until next season for a riding video though. I'll try to make some snowmobile related content in the garage until the season is over. Thanks for watching.
Another great video guys. Nice to see Duke back. Thought you dis-owned him. lol Btw , your starter issue is probably from a gummed up starter gear. My buddies was doing the same thing. The shaft was getting dirty and gear would hang up on it not engaging. Something to keep in mind if it does it again.
Sadly. I've been better. I injured my shoulder back in October and had surgery on it yesterday, December 4th. I won't be able to ride this season. Zuke is going to take the cameras and record trail videos this season. My only hope is to be able to go on a 2 up ride near the end of the season. Thanks for the comment and for watching Matt.
Awesome! If there is rideable snow we will be at Snodeo. This may be the first year in some time where it may rideable at Snodeo. What color is your new sled?
Yes. Yamaha made really good sleds, had about 1% percent of the market share, and won't be making sleds after the 2025 model year. Arctic Cat is just making a potential comeback with their catalyst chassis and new Garmin GPS Display which I like very much. I am a fan of Polaris but have never owned or ridden one before. I like the fact that Polaris, like ski-doo, is an innovative company. What's your favorite brand or model? Thanks for watching Mike.
Great video and Thanks for sharing. I was up at Tug the same time February 17 - 22. We stayed at the Edge and were able to ride from the hotel a few days then needed to trailer to Barrows. Conditions weren’t the best but glad we went, we may not get another chance. I want to try Old Forge next season, do you like the trails at Old Forge better than Tug? Does the City have better resources than the Clubs? I think it’s a $100 for a permit. Is it less crowded and trails aren’t beaten as bad?
Thanks jpaul4595! One of the things that I like about Old Forge is that the towns do a great job maintaining the trails. They also have a great inner loop of trails that you won't get anywhere else. If we get a good winter Old Forge is outstanding. You can ride the multiple lakes and ride all the way to Tug Hill from there among many other places. Old Forge has great amenities since it's a tourist attraction as well. Tons of Lodging and restaurants too. If next season looks promising I would encourage you to give it a try.
@@Paisteboy Thanks for the intel. If we get a promising winter next season I’ll buy a season pass. I’m in Ohio, I would like to bring my wife & 14 year old daughter to old forge where we can rent a sled. Do you have any suggestions on where to stay for a family and also where to rent sleds from?
