The key is a common old cabinet key. His 'favorite' marble is a handmade German 'solid core' -circa 1890-1900s - not hard to find but cool! The larger dinged up marble that's Blue w/ Yellow ribbons is a Peltier NLR Cub Scout circa mid 1930s. The Bennington types were made in Germany up until aprox. the 1920's and are extremely common in plain blue or brown. Multi colored examples are slightly harder to find. The cobalt blue with fine white swirls is an Akro Agate slag - circa mid 1920s. Old but not rare. I could name and value them all.....I am a marble geek. Thanks for sharing dude.

I have a lot of old vintage marbles that I could really use help w/ identifying! I found an old Parkay butter 5lb container in the basement that was my grandfather's with about 600 marbles in it. There are some pretty cool ones, and I've been reading a ton. But, I just keep reading & still feel like there's so much I don't know!

Theres something special about marbels. Ive always thought they were so beautiful. As a kid they just excited me especially the jumbo shooters. Kids at my school had some really nice ones like bumble bee and big steelies.

My daughter loves marbles. She started collecting in high school. She has mostly new ones from Moon Marbles in Kansas ( not cheap) believe me we have purchased them there.
Her old ones are from a guy in college that had a crush on her. He gave her a jar of his old marble collection. She took art in college and every painting has marbles in them. They told her she has the only person one of two people that had her own style developed already. I think it was the marbles. now she has them under lights and has a gorgeous collection. I don't know anyone that loves them the way she does. I also think she has older ones that were her brothers when they were kids.

I've been collecting since I was a little girl when my dad would bring them to me. He found a lot of them by a very old school house. Thanks for sharing. Though I must point out that the way you store them isn't good. The weight of the marbles can cause damage to the ones lower down. Just a heads up in case you are unaware. I value my collection as more sentimental than anything. I have so many. I love finding new ones and can sit for hours staring into the depths of them, at all the different patterns and shapes.

Thank you for sharing your marble collection. Very interesting. I have a few, not as many as yourself, but still very satisfying. I have a few Roman marbles and playing stones out of marble. Most are just river stones sanded down. Flat on the bottom and rounded on top. The marbles I have from my childhood take me many years back. They make me feel like I am still in the 60's and not a minute has passed. Peace

Thank you for sharing your video. I recently acquired a bag of 23 marbles from an estate sale. One of the marbles I thought was a nut because of its brown color and lite weight. Watching your video and seeing that Bennington with the white spot on the bottom made me recheck what I thought was a nut. Sure enough it is a Bennington. Too cool. Many thanks, friend.

I have ceramics , benningtons, stone, cobalt blues, browns, etc. complete sets including the mini's, mibs, and shooters. Practically every color. I need to know the value of these. I know I have a mega collection here and know very little about it.

I can’t believe I haven’t thought of this many years ago… But somewhere in the attic at my parents house, I have three large coffee cans FILLED with marbles! Some of them I had bought when I was a kid. But a lot of them we’re my fathers that he had gotten in the 1920s. A lot of them are pretty OLD I would really like to know if some of them are worth anything. I should go to my parents house and try to dig them up! 🤔

I hear the marble business can be really good if you know what you're doing, so I have a lot to learn LOL I really wish I would have brought back all of my marbles from Germany when I was a kid....they are worth quite a lot now! :( Anyways, thanks for sharing, I have many similar ones.

Marbles is a growing hobby oddly enough here in the last 10 years so many new people have started collecting, a quick search of ebay will show over 26,000 sold listings of marbles in the last few months. There are tons of old marbles that are worth next to nothing but there are some that top $1,000 a piece all depends on the maker and design. I'm in my late 30's and started collecting about 5 years ago.

The most I picked up in one day was almost 1200, some bennington's were homemade to tell a real they'll have eyes all over them from where they were touching other ones during the firing process. Clay marbles Sears sold a little kit to make your own play marbles you had to know what to look for when determining how old they are I have some the size of my fist

Nice collection !!! The big multi-color shooters you were showing are from Peltier Marble Company most of the three color marbles you said were milk glass are from vitro marble company their called ALL REDS .... With Bennington marbles the rarest color is PINK... in order of collectibility it goes from brown, blue, green, multi-color blends, speckled and PINK ... the ones with a triangle dot pattern are the rarest generally found in larger examples this occurred during the glazing step when each marble was set on an individual stand to cure The American Marble and Toy Company actually made of glazed examples in sets with a cobalt blue # embossed on them 1- 12 as I recall .... KEEP ON COLLECTING THOSE MARBLES 💯👍 I have for 40+ years and have 10,000+ to include boxed sets, penny machines, all kinds of early marble toys and games too..... happy Collecting “I work for MARBLES” lol 🇺🇸

I've always loved marbles and some of my first ones that I got as a kid came from an old club lounge my mum bought when I was about ten. I still have them and have added to them for most of my life. The newest ones are the ones I bought myself around 1970 but no idea how old the oldest ones are. Is there a way you can find out? You have a wonderful collection BTW and I love the bottle too. I also have a small collection of bottles. My favourite is a soda bottle with a marble inside it. Thanks for sharing.I enjoyed your video.

I have an 1880 Victorian farmhouse that I’ve found several marbles at. Among them I found a small tan clay marble & a large blue & green quartz shooter marble that are obviously very old. Any way to tell exactly how old or am I stuck with the entire 1800’s era for these?

The one that looks like a stone could possibly be a deer pearl. It's from the belly of a deer. They eat acorns and have been known to get stuck in their stomach and by natural prosses of calcium action the become solid and hunters who field dress they're kill will dump the remains and the pearls become exsposeed.

Dude if you want that jar marbles will bust a jar. The swirl marble is very nice one it was actually worth $30 or better when you picked it up. Bennington's the green are the hardest to find. I have gemstones that are actually round. You need to get a marble book or two. Most companies only stayed in business for 3 months I would suggest getting a hollow tube plastic to store your marbles in that way you can see everyone you got without causing damage and you can also make a rack for the tubes to stand on

I have just found out my childhood collection that was given to me by my great nan.
Some of them look pretty valuable going on what i have seen online.
Anyone in the know fancy a look to see what I have?
