    I own an old Victorian house built in the 1890’s. Metal detected my Yard today (I also live in WV). I dug up a completely clear (greenish blue) marble. No design, but transparent. It was obviously a child’s favorite because it has impact strikes all over it. No idea what year it could be though. I pulled out a spoon from 1910 less than a foot from it too.

    • @squeakD
      @squeakD 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it’s an old codd marble, is that what all of the impact points are? I assumed it was a child’s glass marble that was heavily used.

    I was wondering how Master gets the same rolled up caterpillar look to the consistency? It’s must be in the way the liquid glass pours into the machine or is it the design of the marble machine itself that creates the pattern? In my glass studio I would twist up a cane really tight then bend the top over to touch the bottom and melt round. No way a machine doing that tho. Hmmm...??? Any insight?

    I recently found my old collection of marbles from my childhood. There’s this marble I always liked, it is clear with different colored specks on the outside. The specks are partially exposed because they are not fully in the glass. Do you know what kind of marble it is? I don’t know how to search for it. My buddy is an outhouse digger and out here in colo after running water the outhouses became dump pits and he finds a lot of marbles and bottles I've found a few marbles in 40 years I'm 60 now but not many and I'd love for to have found a marble you might not have hopefully I want nothing for it but if I look at more of your collection I might find one I want that you might have more than one as much as I like the bright ones you showed a few that looked like melted chocolate that caught my either way it's yours for free I'd just put it on the shelf with the rocks and a salt shaker shaped like a foot with a face on the sole that I found at the same dump using the washers for display sheer genius I saw those brass eyelets too great idea anyways let me know if you find the set listed my friend the bottle digger said he found one on e bay or somthing and they were asking 35 bones or somthing but. As I mentioned id much rather it be loved by someone like you ! Its free!

      Hi John, I’m not sure but marble shows are the best places to buy vintage marbles. There’s a few annual shows in California and Las Vegas. Otherwise antique shops or even eBay would be your best bets.

    this was posted a while ago, but may i ask, how do you pronounce your name? like Steven or Stefan? my name is Stefan and im working on my own marble collection, so my friends joke this is me in the future, so it would be even more of a coincidence if we had the same name but spelled different

      Cool Bitbye ! My grandmother named me with the Stefan pronunciation, but my parents used Steven, so the Steven pronunciation stuck for the most part.
