Even the Arcade models dont look bad, they have pretty highly detailed models despite running on what is a slightly better PS1. Note the individual fingers on each hand. Most 3D PS1 games dont have that, Rival Schools in particular. But the PS2 models look amazing, and this was a launch title. It can afford to have high quality models since it doesnt have to render a whole lot at a time but there isnt that many other PS2 games that look this good
2:34 They did Ganryu dirty. They had bros scar facing one direction in the arcade and another in console 💀💀
Did they draw them from scratch just for the PS2 version or did they use technology to upscale the models?
I like the PS2 version. The graphics are cool
so great for its time!
is just a ps2 remake from the arcade game
3:28 Jack-2 (arcade version) fighting stance too awkward xD
When i played tag 1 for the first time in the early 2000s, i didnt think graphics could get any better. This was it, the pinnacle.
To this day, i think tag 1 graphics still look better than Tekken 4 and 5 for some reason.
Yes something about the aesthetics of it!
i liked how the PS2 version looked like the intro cutscene and I love the arcade version for the low poly look
Sick channel logo at the start, how’d you make it
Thanks man! Just a lot of design work/ trying to animate and video editing over each other!
Tekken tag in arcade is the best game ever doesn’t matter the graphics, the movements was perfect to play
It flows nicely!
i had emulated on the pcsx2, i really love it!

Arcade Bruce: 🗿
Namco using Tekken 3's engine for the arcade version right?
Correct! System 12 arcade
Devil has got so tiny wings in the arcade version compared to the ps2 version and the original devil from tekken 2
Right, that's the only thing I found wierd in the arcade version myself
@@RisingUppercut I wonder if its some sort of technical limitation? The wings become big when he uses the laser attacks in the arcade version. But yeah it does look really weird compared to ps2 and tekken 2. Also random, but Kazuya seems to have skinny arms in the PS2 version compared to arcade,
@@nishanfernando9314 Perhaps not a technical thing but it can be, it could have been a thing like the wings are in the way/ a distraction? but yes kaz lost some weight over to the ps2 version!
He is also in Tekken 1
@@hurricane7727 Not as a different character with his own move set, just as a skin for kazuya so I wouldn’t count devil as a character in Tekken 1
Eu fico com a versão de Arcade. Até porque marcou a minha infância. 😃
Aracade is my favorite 😊
Arcace has an aura to it but Ps2 version is clearly more polished although some faces look kinda off (Paul, Jin, Law etc)
The graphics on both versions look better then modern games today
Omg stop saying better than___ it's super annoying
better than😏
Wow. The arcade version of this looks like it could be Tekken 2
1:33 my main on Tekken 6 and tag 2
IF u notice, is the same graphic style of cgi in the tekken 3's cutscenes
People said that Bruce Irvin is doing kickboxing he's doing Muay Thai actually
I always wonder what consoles were used in those arcades?
Arcade models are better in body proportions, for example Kazuya's arms and chest are more realistics in size in thr arcade version (white pants costume), in PS2 he looks too skinny
Bryan's head looks too big in PS2, Arcade models are much better, more realistic and enjoyable to play,
Some of these characters were not meant for the redesign for PS2 while others needed it to look better then they already did same could be said for certain costumes like bald Brian staying in arcade graphics cause he looks worse in PS2 graphics
I just played this game today, and got all the characters
How cool, the good old unlocking the characters!
I DID NOT expect that alt for Bryan💀 Mr Clean lookin ahh
In Arcade version, Devil Kazuya's Wing is smaller when folded in Contrast of PS2 version where it same as his T2 Model
One of the best Tekken games of all time
Ps2 graphics are great but the arcade graphics give it that complete retro look ps1 feeling
My guy arcade kazuya close his eyes when you pick him ps2 kazuya is like 👀
Dude. I remember begging my parents to get me a PS2 and TTT. My cousins and I would frequent Super Arcade in West Covina and Arcade Infinity in Rowland Heights, just to play TTT. And then when we saw how it looked on PS2, I just knew I had to have it! I saved up my lunch money long enough to buy the game and console, and I fucking gawked and played the shit out of it. At the time I told myself, "video game graphics will not get any better than this!". Of course I was wrong, but TTT is still one of my favorite games of all time!
Did you never watch a CGI cutscene back then? CGI cutscenes basically tell how future game graphics will look
TAG arcade to Tag ps2 was a BIG jump, even bigger than Soulcalibur arcade to soul calibur dreamcast
3:00
Silver mask vs golden mask
Did Baek slicked back his hair?
what name of the song started at 3:31 ??
That is the Staff Roll theme of the Arcade version. This plays when the game is completed:)
@@RisingUppercut it's also the Results Theme in the Console Version
Resolution aside, I actually think Paul looks better on the arcade version
Just remineder tekken tag ps2 size is just about 800mb, slightly bigger than tekken 3 on ps1. That's impressive the graphics is way better than tekken 3.
01:14 always wondered why King (Alternate Costume) is White Man in Arcade version but a Black Man in Console
2:20 BALD! BALD! BALD! BALD!
It feels weird to see Tekken 3 poly counts on characters who weren't in Tekken 3.
I like arcade version 😎✌👏👍
Me too
Me to
Actually a pretty unique case when console version is graphically better than the arcade one. Because usually it’s quite the opposite. Another example I can think of is the first Soul Calbur, it had the same situation.
Devil's wings were so dinky in the arcade release for some reason 😅
My childhood ❤
PS2 models look better than Arcade
Indeed, though arcade version had its charm, especially seeing T2 characters with T3 graphics
I wish the ps2 had an option to play with the arcade graphics, i do like the low poly
I'm Play on my phone on Tekken Tag Tournament on emulator Mame Emulator Box
have you played a lot of this arcade version? In footage it seem that the gameplay is faster than the PS2 version. I wonder why this is the case, considering the PS2 had more power.
you could be referring the 60hz and 50hz systems back in the day, where 50hz caused games to be slightly slower running in EU rather than 60hz in US/JP!
@@RisingUppercut I'm not actually. It seems something about the gameplay was slightly changed from arcade to console. Perhaps that makes arcade seem faster to me. I'm not sure! But thanks for making this video and keep making content!
I play the arcade version and the PS3 remaster back to back very often and I agree that the arcade version feels faster and smoother to control. My first instinct was that it might be due to increased input latency on the console versions, and I think that could be a part of it, but also the character animations and movements are just more sluggish. I find the arcade version much more enjoyable to play.
Arcade version is looks like PS1 version
That is right, it was produced in the same standards as Tekken 3!
Arcade Kuma and Roger look horrifying lmao
best thumbnail ever lol
Haha thanks man!
Do you think is it a remastered or a remake? Because they add more polygons in the ps2 version
PS2 version is more like Tekken 3 arcade version, while arcade version ironically similar with console version of Tekken 3
Awesome
why do their outfits change when getting selected?
Because I wanted to show all models of the characters;)
@@RisingUppercut ohhhhh I see I thought it wa slike that when you select them
@@cxreamdae yeah is like if you select them with the punch or kick button, depending on the costume and color type in the older games of Tekken :)
@@RisingUppercut oh ok i only pkayed tekken 5-7
@@cxreamdaeyes, 5 and 6 was like that
alot of them were just tekken 3 models. Tag Tournament was just Tekken 3 with better graphics
It was Tekken 1( It has the replay and the same Ending Songs which is from Tekken 1 Arcade and Console Versions), Tekken 2 and Tekken 3 Combined.
@@hurricane7727 the character models are Tekken 3. Even the Tekken 1 and 2 models where made like Tekken 3. The graphics, the layout, the font in the game is all recycled Tekken 3.
@@NicholasSpeaks Tekken 2 Characters didn't Have Tekken 3 Models but Tekke. tag Ac was like if they were in Tekken 3 which was Cool. The Ko replay and Ending Song sounding the Same is like Tekken 1 Ac and Console( Tekken Tag Ac was a Updated Tekken 3). Weird the Modders couldn't just port juns model from this Game to Tekken where Her Portrait is.
I grew up playing tekken tag. So it would come to a surprise playing the arcade version and seeing the graphical downgrade for the arcade version . I thought I was tripping balls when I saw how bad it looked
The arcade graphics fit the game more
Why?
Then Tekken 7 would've ended up on a namco system 12.
@@RealJackBolt-NITJ it gives the game the right feeling, i don't know how to explain it. Tekken 7 should have better graphics
Arcade has better colour and shine but ps2 is smoother and more better shape. If they combined the two it would have been perfect.
so true, never though of it like that!
I wish Bandai Namco hires a Coder to port Old Tekken Games on Modern Consoles, & Steam.
