My favorite is the Echo PAS 2620 because I have the Echo PAS 2620. I have a trimmer and edger now with more attachments on my Christmas list. Plus the PAS 2620 has more power
I have been looking at the PS 225 and the SRM 266. The 225 is 21.2cc and the 266 is 25.4cc. However the 266 is not attachment compatible. Have you ever found the 225 to be under powered for just weed trimming and using the hedger attachment? Both are the same price and so I am wondering which one to get. Thank you for your time
I really like the PAS 225. It is lite and while it can get bogged down in tall thick grass does really well in normal trimming conditions. It also runs the hedge trimmer attachment without a problem. The PAS 225 is also much liter than the SRM 266. So if it was me, I would go with the 225 all day long.
Just purchased the PAS 225 today. I almost got the SRM 225. I did not know the difference nor did the guy at big box stores ( he was new) I just figured it's a bit more money so I threw in the towel and got it. PAS Eureka when I got the right model. Shoot I almost got Ryobi because of multitool feature. Yell out loud I got the right tools.👍
Echo are great just don’t forget regular maintenance and fuel stabilizer and if by any chance it’s starts failing it’s more likely the carburetor just replace that and it’s good to go.
I’m thinking of getting this and was wondering if you could tell me if it vibrates a lot? I’ve heard older reviews from 3 or more years back and that seemed to be a complaint
Is the PAS 225 strong enough to edge a yard that has grass and dirt overlapping the concrete? I have a ryobi string trimmer and edger attachment but it is not strong enough to edge the ladder problem. I always find my ryobi string trimmer vibrating when I try to edge thick grass with dirt.
I use the Red Armor Oil from ECHO. Just so you know, ECHO runs every single engine before they box it up and ship it out and in their testing they do not use non ethanol fuel while testing because they know most people aren't going to run ethanol fuel in their stick equipment. So if you're running stihl I would recommend the best stihl oil and if you running ECHO I would recommend the best ECHO oil which is Red Armor.
I’m a home owner with a lot of acreage, and I’ve been thinking about getting this system. To me, it seems heavy but I’m not used to commercial products. I’m just wondering why you don’t use this system all the time if you like it so much. Is it just too heavy when using the hedge trimmer? I also hear it vibrates a lot
So, my new pas 225 is awesome. I was wondering if your trimmer line stops right when you let off the gas? Or does it spin down to a stop? Wondering if that's normal in a new unit (less than 5 hours on it.
@@LansingLawnServiceLLC ok thanks. Reading alot about these 225 units and about bad carbs and exhaust spitting oil everywhere. Mine has a little but I've seen some really bad ones
@@ADKfreeman I’m not sure if your talking trimmers or edgers so I’ll answer both. Curve shaft edgers use a cable system to turn the edger blade. A straight shaft edger uses a steal rod to turn the edger blade. For trimmers it is the same issue plus a curved shaft trimmer causes the operator to have to lean over more than a straight shaft. Both are good but you will get more power out of straight shaft than curved shaft.
Way too heavy, loud, gas guzzling, and high maintenance. Get the Milwaukee battery powered quik lok system and never look back. And yes, even for commercial use.
Frank George I highly doubt you can run a brush blade efficiently with a battery operated trimmer . sounds like playtime crap. I'll stick with gas power
I can't imagine any lawn care pro in their right mind running exclusively battery powered lawn equipment. That stuff is primarily targeted towards homeowners with light-duty levels of yard work who only use the equipment occasionally.
I’ll say I started my lawn care business with the Milwaukee quik lok and was really surprised how much it was capable of. I’m talking acre’s of trimming, hundreds of feet of well overgrown edging, hedge trimming that bordered on tree pruning and it has held up great. The down side is you will invest as much or more in batteries to use this commercially with all of its attachments. I will probably be keeping my m18 because it is awesome for early morning work in subs with a home owners association but I have already transitioned into two stroke as it is a lot easier to manage super busy days you never have to worry about charge times. Still the Milwaukee does have its place and I wouldn’t say they are toys honestly they are not far from being a feasible replacement but until they can do a battery blower with 30-40 minutes runtime on the highest setting and increase battery power density it is still the more expensive and less efficient way to work. I wouldn’t doubt in the next ten years we see cordless that have more power then two stroke though especially with Dewalt changing the game with their new batteries. Oh yeah also I love the m18 pole saw and chainsaw I still use these over two stroke being a landscaper but I would still use my m18 chainsaw for light tree work no question and I’ve seen even nicer battery saws from stihl. Makita seems to be leading the charge in cordless OPE right now their combi system is absolutely amazing if it had been around when I got my m18 stuff I would have definitely reconsidered.

Most helpful review ever for me, thank you!
Thanks for the video
You’re welcome!
Echo is all I will ever own awesome equipment
Thanks for the info.. I just brought the PAS 225 system. I have been using Exho for 25 yrs. I still have SRM3100 Trimmer that is 22 yrs old
WoW!! Nice!
Question. I just bought a pas 225 and it started leaking oil out of the muffler. Did this happen to you?
Stihl's Kombi heads are heavy with high compression
Can I use PAS 225 engine with the straight shaft edger? Some day that it may overspeed the engine and cause failures.
Subscribed. The pas the the way to go. Great video.

I like this stuff because since echo doesn’t make a Curved shaft 2620 You can pretty much put any engine with anything with this system

That's awesome! I'm glad you got the right tool for you.
Can I use my attachments from my old ryobi? I mean are They compatible?
No, I am not aware of a combination system on the market today that is interchangeable with another brand.
You need to modify the ryobi attachment to make it work with Echo power head. There is a video on TH-cam explaining that.
Echo are great just don’t forget regular maintenance and fuel stabilizer and if by any chance it’s starts failing it’s more likely the carburetor just replace that and it’s good to go.

Yes, it should be strong enough to edge an overgrown sidewalk, however you will probably have to take it a bit slower than say an ECHO 2620.
Great video

Where did you get the articulating head? I need one for my pas225, but on Amazon, it’s $350!! I just bought the weed wacker for $279.
