Hi. We're following along. Departed NZ from Opua and are now cruising the Yasawas. With your videos, it would be great if you could voice over some of the scenery. It's beautiful out here!
Great - thanks for your comment and for following the channel! Thanks for your suggestion regarding voice over of scenery. What is it that you are thinking? Is it us explaining geographical locations so that viewers can understand. Or is it some other aspect? Keen to know so we can improve. Enjoy the Yasawa Islands and all the best from us. Adam and Vicki.
Hi. Instead of showing you guys talking to camera... show images of the things that you're talking about. There are so many beautiful places out here on the ocean. Enjoy the journey.
Great OK understood now and we have taken the suggestion on board! Thanks so much for commenting and watching the channel! All the best, Adam and Vicki
Good morning guys from down here. Sorry about this, but I can't access the comment section, just the replies. Not sure why, and it's not your fault. I'll sort it. So just look on this as comments. Aaah yes, first world problems. Remember the good old days.? What happened to them. 😢.....Um ok the anchor problem.? My last yacht I owned, was a 15 tonne, 12mt Hartley Golden Cowrie, in ferrocement. And while based in the Marlborough Sounds, I just carried a Fisherman type anchor, for the reefs, in the outer Sounds, and as recommended to me, a Danforth in the inner Sounds. Basically a mud/shell base. It dealt with katabatic winds and occasionally williwaws. Two separate types. My point being, that my anchor self set itself over a standard setup....during retrieval. No reset swivel. I was able to have a stern line out so that helped. Amongst our liveaboard crew, were members of the Ocean Cruising Club, and they all, as far as I can remember, were unanimous in carrying the Bruce Claw type, as the go to/if in doubt/handy to have anchor to use on unknown seabeds, overseas. I don't think they had the self setting swivel included in the system. I could be wrong. I've been wrong before. (I think.)😂 Hopefully you're all good now.? Thank you for sharing folks. Take care and atb from down here.
Hi Bryan! As always thanks for following the channel and for your comments - we are really enjoying them! We are all good re the anchor situation. No further issues with resetting so far. We have full faith in the Rocna anchor. We have a physiology aboard to keep systems simple and I think the self righting swivel is an example of us adding something unnecessary, and even not recommended, over-complicating what could be a simple system. We live and learn and will keep striving to keep things simple going forward! All the best. Adam and Vicki.
You seem to be relaxing into the videos now,
well done. 😊

It’s a mark one. But we’re not blaming the rocna, just our previous choice of swivel. Thanks for watching! Cheers Adam and Vicki
