I bought it and after trying it on my DJI RS2, I sent it back. I used it on the RS2 to make removing the side handle and feet a quick release solution. The problem is that it is too tall. When used on any head, it raises the center of gravity so high that the equipment becomes unstable. Also, the surface area is not big enough to use with a slider. I tried the zhiyun mount (the larger one) and it works much better for mid-size equipment. But for larger equipment (fluid head, slider) I use the ZEAPON Revolver Quick Release Plate. Its best one I've tried so far.

Clearly sponsored content - fair enough, I watch your channel occasionally & I am not prepared to pay. Yet it's a most compelling demonstration and pleasant to watch - appreciate that!

A well thought out gadget. They’ll be able to get more interest/adoption if they priced it somewhat cheaper as once you add one of these on one of your mounts, you’ll need another for your other mount to make it work

I love Manfrotto products. It’s very strong and you can easily find spare parts but honestly, Arca Swiss is nowadays the standard for quick release systems.

I hate Arca Swiss plates and mounts. The Manfrotto 501 plates are far better and are on all my cameras and lenses. I even use the 577 rapid adapter to convert Arca Swiss to Manfrotto QR mount.

Great Video Bro. Do you know any common plate which can switch between a Video Head and Steel Camera Head like Manfrotto 410?

Ironically I've been adapting my Manfrotto tripod and monopod heads to Arca Swiss largely because my D850 came with a RRS plate and my new wildlife lens has an Arca Swiss compatible foot. But this could be a handy addition.

Take your pick, Arca swiss, ifootage, and Leofoto also have quick release systems like this… I personally love the Leofoto one.

I seen this product in action on many videos, but know one shows how it would work on a vest and gimbal. I'm scared it would not be strong enough because of the 1/4 20 thread that screws all your gimbal gear. You have your camera monitor, mic, large lens, two or maybe three handles, by the time your done you have 18# pounds hanging on a 1/4 20 thread. It would be nice if they had a 3/8 thread on the circler plate instead. I think it would be much stronger. This is well needed for quick release on a vest vs gimbal. Could you do a review on that? The vest I am talking about is the DigitalFoto Solution Limited THANOS Support Vest with Spring Arm for DJI RS 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro & Single-Handle Gimbals. A quick release is well needed! Please help.

I understand your concern, and I'm about to purchase it. However, looking at the pictures on their website, it seems there is also a 3/8 thread. The description also indicates that there are 3/8" & 1/4" universal top attachment screws. Can you confirm, if you already have bought it?

Great example of incredibly overpriced products (in an ecosystem that requires buying several at $100 each) that the video's host would never, ever, ever purchase with his own funds. Fstoppers gets these from manufacturers to effectively create free advertisements, as the host admits. If there were even the slightest, nuanced critique that $100 a pop for these mounts is too much, GAME OVER for Fstoppers.

i mean if ur a professional and u make money from photography/videography then the time switching between stuff might just have the same value as these gadgets for you, especially accrued over time. I think for amateurs like me it wouldn't be that necessary unless i got cash sitting by. Time is not money in my case.

Pretty good presentation IMO, but one google search and you'd found that there are several similar systems on the market.

I switched to Arca Swiss plates years ago on all my tripods, including a Manfrotto head, after a camera fell off my monopod from the PL-200 lever being jostled. I recently saw a video where a photographer in the Faroe Islands had his camera fall off the tripod and down a cliff. I'm sure this new mount system is more secure. But Arca is industry standard, with L mounts and many telephoto tripod mounts being compatible.

Plus the anti-twist plates for sp cific cameras and lenses make them fit smoother and less obtrusive. Arca Swiss is still the best overall design.

Dude, I thought your channel stopped uploading. The TH-cam algorithm must have ghosted you or something, I don’t even see your videos in my subscribed tab. What the heck. I’m just going to copy and paste this in the comments of a few of your new videos to tell the algorithm that YES I want to see your videos.

It would sound more convincing if you compared real spent time , eg "manfrotto - 5 seconds, no manfrotto - 123 seconds, you do the math" - instead of saying "so slow" each time
    But thanks, awesome new device

This is not groundbreaking circles require geometry just like rectangles to knowing knowing man photos track record you are going to be locked into their tripod system it's really only appeals to a certain segment on the market imagine putting your camera down on the table and it falls onto it's lens because you don't have a rectangle underneath it and have a circle is this not groundbreaking Man photo is the iPad iPhone Apple of the tripod world no thank you

    • @kennuimuffins2426
      @kennuimuffins2426 2 ปีที่แล้ว

In the field of top-down quick release systems, there is no standard. Arca swiss plates are standard but they use a sliding action.
The plate that lee used is not a sliding mechanism, but it also isn't top down, don't know if there are third party versions of it. It's still proprietary to manfrotto gear anyway (i use one too).
So any top-down system is going to be proprietary by default.
