    Regarding the fuel sending unit, thanks for the access panel in the cab to avoid having to drop the tank.

    I am installing and I am having trouble finding where to connect the high beam green wire, it shows to connect to 17. I have a wire marked 17B but it has the same female end on it that is on green wire. My truck has a 57L wire with a male end I am not sure what to plug into it but it also went to the high beam indicator. Any tips?
    Edit: I connected the green wire to 17B but still don’t have the high beam indicator working. Any tips would be appreciated.

    I just bought a Humvee with that cluster in it. Any chance you know of an online source for the installation instructions you got? I want to look over mine and just make sure it’s good. Plus I’d like to see what’s involved in getting the turn signals to show. I didn’t even know that was a thing.

      @mikedoherty6227 there may be something if you go to the Motor Meter Racing site but jot 100% sure. If you can find a TM diagram you may be able to find which wires to tap into from the turn signals and just wires those in. I've still yet to do it lol.

    • @HendyDad
      @HendyDad 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Turn signals are the 460 and 461 wires connected to the turn signal handle.

    Thanks for doing this video. I just ordered a set of these. Where did you mount the GPS sensor for the speedometer?

    Lots of good add-ons. What sound insulation did you add, where, and how much of a difference did it make? Thanks

    • @Kevin24Seven

      It's dynamat but fair warning it isn't cheap. I would say it made a solid 15% reduction in cabin noise. While cruising down the road you can almost hold a normal conversation in my truck and while on the highway you can still talk if you yell.

    You should hook up a quality mechanical oil pressure gauge to compare. Just put a "T" in line with the stock sending unit than cap off the T fitting when done. Rule of thumb is 10PSI for every 1K RPM, Also you are assuming that since the new gauges are reading lower readings, that it is better. I.E. the coolant temp. Your thermostat controls temp. The GM motor is designed to run at 220 degrees (ish). A temp gun at the stat flange on engine would help determine. On voltage, take a voltmeter and go to the batteries and see what the charging value is when running. 29volts reading on new gauges is too high. Verify.

    • @Kevin24Seven
      @Kevin24Seven  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly I'm not too concerned with the oil PSI but I have been meaning to do that with a fuel PSI gauge in case of any future issues it helps a lot to be able to easily diagnose. 220 degrees is one thing but 230, sometimes even 240 is too high. I had another M1123 and it would say the exact same thing on the OEM gauge. I knew the truck was not running 240 by confirming with the temp gun like you mentioned and also because it would be boiling over in all likelihood. The voltage reading is interesting, ill have to look into that.

    Just want to verify, when you say you need to touch ground to change the color. Do you need to pull the cluster to change them again or is the a way to push a button once installed?

    • @mikedoherty6227
      @mikedoherty6227 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have the push button light switch. I can change color by pushing gauge brite )or something like that). I’m not sure how you would do it on this install.

    What did you do with the stock speedometer cable? I think it would continue to spin being maniacal?

    • @Kevin24Seven
      @Kevin24Seven  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      IDK why but that made me laugh a lot haha. Thats exactly what its currently doing and sometimes I get confused and wonder why I feel a sharp pain in my right knee and then I remember its just my speedo cable dangling there and spinning unbelievably fast as I go down the road.

  • @brandanbellamy4359
    @brandanbellamy4359 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Could you have rotated the instrument panel so the speedo was on the left side? Would have been closer to the turn signals and may be easier to see with the steering wheel. I definitely will look at this for mine.

    • @Kevin24Seven
      @Kevin24Seven  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can however I found that my view would be a bit obstructed by the wheel that way. The other thing is I think the back of the panel (which would become the front in that configuration) may not have quite as nice a finish but I couldn't tell for sure.

    • @brandanbellamy403
      @brandanbellamy403 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I gotcha - I just ordered mine, I didn't even know about these guys. And I mean to rotate the face plate not to flip it so the finish is still on the same side.@@Kevin24Seven

    • @Kevin24Seven
      @Kevin24Seven  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@brandanbellamy403 sweet! And I understand now what you mean on the rotation. I don't think anything would stop you from doing that other than it would probably look a bit odd with all the gauges being near the bottom instead of the top of the panel.

    Can those panel lights be dimmed? There are times when the lights should be dimmed so as to not cause eye fatigue. One friend told me that the firewall should receive two layers of Dynamat to mute the engine noise. It just occlude to me that if one checks on Amazon for RV LED light dimmer there should be several selections that come up BUT DON'T FORGET YOU NEED THE 24 VOLT VERSION. You will destroy a 12 volt version. It’s a pity that this company does not show KPH on the Speedo as well😢. Speedhut gauges are way over priced and I bet they come from similar suppliers in China. Wherever you have a captive niche market these companies will rape you on the cost.

    • @Kevin24Seven
      @Kevin24Seven  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Unfortunately no dimmer but that would be interesting to try one out. I am a big proponent of having the right light for night driving. Fortunately you can change the color and I ultimately went with Green which is pretty easy on the eyes even when bright. Sometimes if I'm gonna be driving for a long tike in the dark I simply turn the panel light off and periodically check it to make sure nothing is going wrong.
