  • Matt & Pete talk more about Notre Dame's opening win at Texas A&M and what this means for the rest of the Irish season. What did Riley Leonard show in his debut in the blue & gold and how did Marcus Freeman's enthusiasm drive the team.
Plus, Stanford Steve joins the show to share his thoughts on Notre Dame as well as what it has been like this year on College Gameday with the addition of Nick Saban. Finally, the guys preview the matchup with Northern Illinois for the home opener in South Bend.

Excellent segment guys! Stanford Steve was awesome. See you in South Bend at the huge Louisville game. They looked really good in the opener (albeit against bad competition). They still concern me.

I love your radio clips from ND v Texas A&M! For those of us that didn't listen to the radio broadcast, that's a treat.

I see no reason to think USC is going to have another so-so year. Lincoln Riley's their coach, their offense definitely is going to be good, and they got a hotshot new DC, and sure enough they start out with a nice win over LSU and the hated BK and right off the bat kept the score down. If anything Miller Moss could be even more effective than old boy was. He looks like a classic system QB who is plenty capable and should thrive in that offense.

Qb is a stud. The D is average at best.

Don’t underrate how dangerous Williams was.

Pump the brakes on SC. There's a couple losses before Nov. 30.

      Agree...wait and see.
USC and LSU could both be 9-3/8-4

hoooollllld on about USC. "They play defense now"? They gave up 300 passing yards and over 100 rushing yards. That might be an improvement over last year, but that isn't a "good" defensive performance by any means. LSU should have won that game, and that isn't a dig against USC

Their defense might not be "good", but it looked like a dramatic improvement over last year's which was horrible beyond belief. The scary thing is that if Lincoln Riley ever gets even a decent defense to go with his offense, they'll be tough to beat. Right now the USC game looks like the hardest one left on ND's schedule. ☘️

If A&M scored 13, is NIU going to score more? Probably not, but they might if a lot of 2 and 3's play more for experience, and it could also happen that opening up the passing game for the purpose of experience could result in a higher chance of fumbled catch or INT. A dicey bet on who covers, but taking the over seems like the safer bet. Could NIU stuff the Irish arial attack? Could happen but I just feel like Leonard is not just careful, the staff is only going to push the button _more_, not less in that case. Any points that have to be made up are likely to be made up by team will, regardless of what is called on the field. Good Luck to us all and Go Irish!

Look i know you guys gotta put out content and big picture stuff, but i hope and pray 🙏 that the players aren't listening to this stuff. It's all rat poison for the players! they need to get better and take 1 game at a time! love the show! Go Irish ☘️ beat Huskies ☘️

“They got A good receiver”, just one? That’s bad for them as fast as the D is.
