Please join me as I take a close look at the Titan Key made by K7SU. This is a nice key made by a HAM in the USA. It is a big key and feels real good to use 👍 73, Jim W6JIM
Great key and rig. My first straight key was a Kent. Still use it 👍. And I love my Ten Tec Omni V. It has the sweetest side-tone of ANY rig I own😃. Yes, those filters can be scarce 😲
Great question! We could talk about this for an hour. But, long-story-short, it depends on your preference for the landing or how the key makes contact. Generally, a front landing is harder/sharper than a rear landing. The PB-213 lands in the back and the Titan lands in the front. So, it really depends on your taste. Not to dismiss that the PB213 does have a landing adjustment as I demonstrate in the video. The Titan feels similar to a Kent key to me. You probably have a J38, also a front landing. The design of the PB213 uses a long tongue with spring loading that absorbs part of the impact which equals a softer feel. I own and use both types. And to finally answer your question, I could not choose just one. I love both designs! 😃. Maybe it's time to start a Livestream to chat with you all about these fun topics? 73, Jim W6JIM
@@W6JIM Thank you for the reply, Jim. I like the idea of a livestream and interaction with your viewers. I was in your QSO class with LICW for a while before I had my first on air QSO. Now, I’m an SKCC Tribune working toward Senator. I believe you are doing the same. I still use your QSO template every time I’m operating CW. 😉👍 73, AE0IT
Hi Jim, could you tell me why there was clattering noise from 0:25 - 0:49 and from 5:29 - 5:55 but there was almost no noise from 1:20 - 2:33 and from 3:04 - 5:18? Another question: what is the blue substance you put underneath its rubber feet?
Thank you for your question, you have a very good year. You're hearing the clattering when I'm using my bug. No clattering when I'm using the straight key. The bug has lots of moving parts and can get a little noisy. The blue substance is a sticky putty that keeps my keys from sliding around. 👍
nice looking key. thank you
Thanks for watching!
Love, love, love that key!!!!!
I love mine too!
A Lot of great looking worksmanship.
Yes, this is nice looking and nice operating key
Very nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
I have British Kent key , it is not gold plated like this one, so it tarnish after a while. I used to have Ten Tec OMNI V with most of CW filter AG6JU

If you had to choose between the Titan and the PB213, which key would you select? Thanks for your videos, Jim. 👍

Is the 9 3/4 the overall length or the wood? It seems big
