Javier is one of the nicest cats I know. I had discussed this with him and was in the works at that time maybe 2 or years in on his creation. This was years back , I want to say 10 years ago maybe. I called him out of the blue one day and I told him I wanted to learn about that method. That same day he drove to meet me at a school I was teaching at many years ago and gave me a 2 hour lesson. This is one guy that goes the extra mile and shares his knowledge with others. I hope he writes a book on trumpet, Javier thinks outside the box and is problem solver. Great job Javier keep up the great job.👍🏽
I was slow to adopt leadpipe playing, until someone had me playing between the slots. I now find it very beneficial, and this video offers a good demonstration and explanation like what got me into it.
Excellent! Excellent tone, excellent control and flexibility, and excellent exercises. I am nowhere near your caliber, but I started doing leadpipe exercises a few years ago after seeing a George Rawlin video entitled the $10,000 Trumpet Lesson (or something to that effect). I could only get the slots. But it unlocked pedals and now I can play scales between the slots. I grew as a player as a result. I'll have to mimic your routine. Thank you for sharing!
Exciting stuff! Your lead pipe videos have inspired myself to experiment over the past year and pass it on to my students. Let us know when the publication is out!
Nice work. Thanks for sharing your talent and your obvious hard work. I'm going to give this a try. I also like the term "alternate fingerings" rather than false, because fingerings are fingerings and you are just using different ones to get the result you want. Just like on my pic, I use that 4th valve in different ways to get better intonation on some notes.
Dear trumpet master and Kind being Mr Javier, I am totally AMAZED by your playing ! Unbelievable!!🤩🤩😘😍‼️‼️‼️ 🌻🌻🌻. I’ve been struggling for years (!)to succeed with this exercise . I’m so frustrated 😢🥺😩😢Me and most likely , hundreds of desperate trumpet people , would be over the moon and so so thankful if you could exactly explain what the tongue is doing . What is going on inside the mouth ?! How do you manipulate certain notes ?!? Please , please make a video !! Please , where is your course ? I’m willing to even buy it ! You are my hero Safe our trumpet life ☘️😍♥️☘️🍀
Thank you Emanuel. Currently editing the book/course. I've spent the last 2 years trying out different ways to explain the process since it is a non traditional approach. Its really close to a finished product look forward to sharing it to all that a willing to learn this process. Happy practicing.
@@javiergonzalez-trumpet299 Thanks Javier. Let the community know when your book is out - I will definitely be buying. I'm a former London pro, now with a day job but trying to get my technique into a better place than it ever was!
Hi Javier ! terrific playing . I read somewhere you were in the process of editing a method ? Available yet ? Maybe you need some guinea pigs to test it ;) ? Take care
JC!!! Yes, currently editing the book/course. Trying to make sure I have all my bases covered since this is not a traditional approach and needs to be explored from every possible angle before releasing the it. Happy practicing.
Thank you for putting your time into making this video. I'm inspired. Should I just start straight away with trying the leadpipe technique and just aim for a smooth line?
So if you are just using the leadpipe, how does depressing the valves or not do anything at all? There is no disputing Javier's obvious talent, but this aspect of his lessen is very budious.
Hi there. Pressing the valves does not change anything if only playing the leadpipe. The reason to press the valves is to not alter the way you hold the trumpet. It prevents the development of bad habits :)
@@javiergonzalez-trumpet299 Amazing stuff bro. great technique. Please check out some of my videos and subscribe back. th-cam.com/channels/NnkrfGu5fjj1-PR69YOa2.html Best
I don’t understand how you are able to do scales without hitting partials. I keep trying but I’m only able to get to up a 2nd then I end up a 9th above that lol.
There are many ways to do this and tonguing definitely falls under one of my exercises. I also do some lyrical etudes on the leadpipe to achieve a full sound and to make it sound as smooth as possible.
For me this is kind of breaking outside the box of traditional trumpet playing, bringing in the fresh wind of new ways to improve. Thanks so much for sharing this :-)) !!

Javier, exceptional playing great demonstration of technique, every success to you...
Great playing! You have given the rest of us much to try and think about! I will always listen to the ideas of someone with range AND musicality!
Amazing! Beautiful sound and outstanding control of the horn! Wow!
Incredible. Bravo!
This is beyond excellent Javier! You are an AMAZING trumpet player, this is beyond words.
Interesting and well
Explained and Demonstrated. Thanks. Looking forward to additional videos in this series.

This video has motivated me to put the trumpet down. I'll redeploy my time to playing checkers.
Lol. I hope you've gotten real good at checkers and come back to the trumpet. Cheers
Dude, your technic is brutal!! 😲👌🏽

Amazing Javier! My dear friend Bill Bing showed me your video and I'm blown away!
Bill taught me everything ;) Thanks for watching.

Is this version of Clarke Etude III published? Beautiful playing! Your circular breathing is also quite remarkable!
This is my version of the etude and I have not published it. I may include it in the book ;)

Have a look at Javier's Bill Bing's Trumpet Talk from a few years ago, to get an idea of how he started

I need to learn how to play like this. Do you teach Skype lessons?
Hi there. Online lessons will be a possibility in the near future. Thank you.
I love how you do this. Do you do tonguing exercises, and actual songs?

Had no idea this was possible.
Hi Javier. Do you speak Spanish? Would be grate if the book can be written in Spanish to. Obviously my English is so pour. Thanks and congrats
Who would dislike this ? Lol
Great playing, pero no oigo nada de su dicha
Good playing, but I really don't want to sound like your upper register. I don't think HLC would approve (but that's like just my opinion man😉)
I’m pretty confident HLC would approve and I wouldn’t want you to sound like my upper register.
Besides this was only a demonstration of control. I don’t play lead trumpet on a large deep mouthpiece.
