That’s a pretty fancy splitter, I’ve never seen one like that before. Take care and have a blessed weekend Bob.

That is a 2020 Wolfe Ridge 28 Pro. Basically, was their entry level splitter at the time. It's a very well built splitter. The good thing about Wolfe Ridge is they stand behind their product. They have redesigned the log lift and the sorting table. They have also added a removable extension for the sorting table. I would not hesitate to recommend Wolfe Ridge. I really like the new vertical splitter they have available. Thanks for watching and commenting - enjoy the journey - cheers

Another nice video Bob, love the tune 🎵 👍🏻. I really like that splitter with the height adjustment 👍🏻. Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you had a great visit with your Dad 👍🏻🙋🏼‍♂️🙂

Thanks Luc. The adjustable 4-way wedge is very nice. I have lines drawn on the vertical knife to help my set the 4-way to a consistent height. My goal is to leave the 4-way set and only move it when necessary. It takes a little bit of testing to get used to where to set the wedge. Of course, it depends on your stove and what you plan to use the wood. Thanks for watching and commenting. Enjoy the Journey - Cheers

Well Bob, that splitter sure gets the job done quickly. Wish I had one when I was a Kid. Everything was done by hand with an axe. I hope you had a good visit with your Dad and I hope he is doing well. Enjoy your weekend. Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks Larry, dad told me this evening about how he cut down trees when he was a kid. They would use an axe and cross saw. Thanks for watching and commenting. Enjoy the Journey - Cheers

I wish I had one of those splitters when I used to burn wood much easier than a wedge and splitting maul.

Truly a satisfying chore splitting wood Bob. What’s with the spray you have there ? Is it for bugs or a lubricant? That’s a really nice splitter you have for sure.

The spray is to kill the carpenter ants. It's Ortho Home Defense spray that came in a bottle that did not include a spray wand. This spray bottle actually works better then the bottle that includes the battery powered pump and wand. I get a better fan pattern with the pump sprayer in my opinion. You are right about the satisfaction that comes from splitting wood. Maybe one day I will buy myself a sawmill. Thanks for watching and commenting - Enjoy the journey - cheers

The splitter is a Wolfe Ridge 28 Pro. I made a mod to the push block to help complete the split. I contacted the Pennsylvania distributor of Wolfe Ridge Splitters and got very lucky. One of his customers ordered one, but decided to back out of the deal and I was able to pick it up. I took deliver back in early December 2020. So, I've had it for 3 years now. Chris Wolfe has continued to improve his products and I would not hesitate to recommend one. However, if I was to purchase one today, I might go with the new vertical splitter from Wolfe Ridge. Yes, the carpenter ants are a challenge. This wood will sit for at least 9 months before it goes into my wood stove. I don't use it for smoking or sell it for campfire wood. It is the Home Defense spray in a pump sprayer. Thanks for watching and commenting - enjoy the journey - cheers
