I took possession of my late father-in-law ‘s 1983 944 5spd. I had it totally goo even over before I drove it home and it’s a fun car to drive, but a bit tedious due to manual steering. My car is in perfect condition and is an interesting metallic root beer brown. It’s now my weekend car while I try to educate myself in 944’s.

944? Top speed 137 ish. Not too shabby. Love the dk blue paint job. Looks sleek. Bad things? Clutch replacement, timing belt, water pump, cv's. Oil leaks. and tranny issues. All doable. I have a 86 951 and she's fast as hell. Been chipped, exhausted, and modded. I will almost lift the front end. Kinda scary. Heh-heh. 911 is bad news for the 2.7 liter, stay away from it. Stay away from Boxters, ims bearing nightmare. 928 is a nightmare squared. Bam! FJB!
