    *I had one of these before and it lasted many years and I used it a lot. It blends **MyBest.Kitchen** chops ,grates. Does most anything you would want to use it for. A lot of bang for your buck. A litlle loud however it so fast it is not bothersome.*

    This is an older video but I just saw it. My observation is that the ingredients he used in the Vitamix were already in water. He didn't add the ingredients first then the water so the cashews in the Vitamix had a headstart in getting tender.

    I was going to buy a Vitamix blender. Just had a hard time with all the different models and price range... I have looked at many reviews, demonstrations, etc... I was decided to get a Vitamix because I have had 2 kitchenaid blenders that did the job (nothing fancy, just blend, no soup options, etc...) but the one I currently have is nearing its end... had it a long time and wanted to replace with a more powerful blender (the one I am looking to replace is a 0.8 HP). I have looked at the one that Costco sells Explorian, because its almost half the price of the 750 pro, but reviews wehre not good, 2 months ago I saw a demonstration with it at Costco, I was so looking forward to see it perform right in front of me and it was a disaster... I felt so bad for the guy demonstrating.. the machine was moving from one side of the table to the other while he was getting something behind him.... My kids enjoyed a sample, but I was not impressed with that model, I wanted to see the newer one Venture, but did not like it has Bluetooth... what a useless thing and it comes with an oversized container (like all the newer models) so if you want to make a single portion you have to waste another $200 to get the smaller jug + a temper for it to work.... that was ano no, so I decided to get the E310 as it has a smaller jug, can do single portions and just make double batch if need to make for entire family, but when I saw it in store in display I thought it was a toy... its made of cheap plastic, feels very flimsy and like junk and not worth $500..... then I came across your video and saw Kitchenaid has a pro blender, so looked into that one and it has more power then the best vitamix, much nicer looking machine then vitamix, better warranty then vitamix, and a much lower price then vitamix. I contacted Kitchenaid as I had a few questions and they even gave me $220 off the Blender wich I ordered. So happy! They have amazing customer service and you do not need to buy another jug to grind dry ingredients, you can make single portions, can make everything Vitamix does with the 1 jug, fits under cabinets, and if your machine breaks within the 10 yrs they replace it for FRE + had FREE shipping too!

      Each and every Vitamix is superior to any KitchenAid blender. Nlendtec is also far better than KitchenAid.

    I'm a fan of both Kitchenaid and Vitamix, and have a couple of both of their products. However as far as blending, I have always been very pleased with my Vitamix 750, and now my Vitamix Ascent 3500.For around the same price as the Kitchenaid pro line, but they have a laundry list of more capailities, options,and conveniences,than the Kitchenaid Proline, and get the job done for everything I make without any issues whatsoever!!
    I make everything in them.from Hot soup, to nut butters!! Also after reading other folks comments, I wanted to reply to a couple of things mentioned such as how the Kitchenaid powers down when not being used for a short period of time. If i'm taxed for time and my blender powered down while I was multitasking, or sidetracked,ect., that would be a major inconvenience to have to keep turning it back on again. In addition as far as someone mentioned that Kitchenaid is designed to do that to save electricity, well, with the higher horsepower, it uses more electricity to run it, which isn't saving electricity at all!!! My Vitamix Ascent 3500 performs perfectly with awesome results every time, and it uses less energy with less horsepower, but also has a screen saver that comes on in a sleep mode while I'm not using it, which I love!!
    The 2nd is about Kitchenaid's Thermal container for making hot soup. That's something that definitely falls short of Vitamix, because with Vitamix, every container in every size (32 oz, 48 oz, and 64 oz tall and low profile alike) are capable of making hot soup!! So there's no need to spend the extra money for the special thermal container that Kitchenaid requires for soup.
    " Every" Vitamix blender and container from the basic models, to the top models can do ""everything"", have all the bells and whistles, which offer the most bang for the $$$, and offer a laundry list of more capability, options,and convenience than that of the Kitchenaid Proline Blenders!!
    Again, I love Kitchenaid products,and have stand mixer and food processor, ect., but as far as blending, (although their blender is nice, don't get me wrong), but Vitamix and Blendtec both reign supreme to the Kitchenaid Proline blenders!!
    Lastly, I got both of my Vitamix's for less than the cost of the Kitchenaid Pro line blenders (((( I regularly make hot soups, so it'd be the choice I would've bought if I were to buy one)))) .! The 750 I bought refurbished, and it's just like brand new with every capability, and the Ascent 3500 was less than $500.00 through William's-Sonoma and their offered discounts, and unlike the Kitchenaid they have all of the bells and whistles, including pre-settings, multiple container choices and sizes that are all capable of making hot soups, grinding flours, you name it!! They say that Kitchenaid has a bigger firmer metal speed nob/dial.....big whoopty doo haha!!! What does that really matter?!?!? Frankly for the high price of them all, Vitamix, Blendtec and Kitchenaids alike, I expect such a costly purchase to have all the bells and whistles, every capability possible, several options, accessories capable of the same performances of eachother, and convenience while performing excellently !!! Vitamix certainly does,as well as Blendtec but the kitchenaids fall horribly short in comparison!! Even the Blendec, falls short of what Vitamix offers, and it's capabilities. ;) Just my opinion!!

      Hi, I know this is an old post - but I just received a KitchenAid Pro Blender for Christmas without instructions, and if you have one, or had one...
      Did you ever make hot soup with it out of raw ingredients - I tried but it tasted foul!!! Not sure if it was because I put a potato in it?? But it definitely tasted uncooked. Can they really cook soup with just the speed of the blade in a few minutes from raw ingredients?
      Also if I scroll through the speed dial whilst its on it turns itself off and blinks amber quite frequently, unless I do it super slowly.. Did you have this problem?
      Sorry, I know this was ages ago but I have these two burning questions!!
      And it's bloody noisy!! haha

    There's obviously alot of Kitchenaid blender owners on here that have zero or very little personal experience using Vitamix and/or Blendtec blenders, and therefore completely biased . If you want to see a real competitive challenge between the two, then go get a big raw horseradish root from your grocery store, prep it, and process it in your kitchenaids to a smooth consistency!! If it can do that without any trouble or adding a lot of liquid, than that's impressive!! :) My Vitamix's can and do!!
    ;) I'm currently eating a bowl of Hot spinach soup that I just made in my 32 oz container of my Vitamix on the soup setting, because I just wanted enough for one bowl, as I'm writing this comment ;). Again, capabilities,options, and conveniences the kitchenaid blenders don't have. Again though, I am a huge fan of Kitchenaid products, and their blenders are pretty awesome, but for the $500 to $600 dollar price tag, it falls extremely short to the laundry list capabilities, options, and conveniences that Vitamix and Blendtec both has, and offers for the same price!! Even the chef in the video above clearly said that the consistency between the smoothies from each were pretty much equal!! However, if smoothness is your most important concern, than you should check out the vacuum blenders ;)

    The KitchenAid comes with a 10-year Unlimited warranty but the Vitamix comes with a limited 7 year warranty. I've worked with both units and I would personally recommend the KitchenAid because of its initial lower-cost and better warranty however the Vitamix is by far the most established brand when it comes to high speed blenders and offers many more accessories as well as replacements. The kitchenaid's reliability has been top notch which also makes it a great value. I strongly advise against purchasing a refurbished unit though. Just like with their stand mixers KitchenAid has a policy with all of its authorized retailers that if the blender is returned for any reason whether it be due to failure or the purchaser just didn't like it it has to go directly back to the factory where it is tested, repaired, and resold. Buying a used blender is as risky as buying a used pickup truck because you don't know if it was used as just a daily driver or if it was hauling trailers full of cinder blocks from the construction site. You don't know if it had been overworked or if it head ever been overheated. I've seen several cases of KitchenAid stand mixers that worked fine when plugged in and run but quickly fail under a small load which tells me that kitchenaid's refurbished testing practice isn't very good.

      The newer Kitchenaid's fail due to the low quality part's and electronics that are put into them. To get anywhere near a vintage Hobart K5-A, or SS, you have to buy one of the Kitchenaid commercial models. As far as blenders go I'll keep my Vitamix, it blends smoother.

    I have had a Vitamix for about 20 years. I find that on long jobs, it overheats. I also find parts failing. I went long periods without using it for these reasons. I’m ready to replace it, and will get the Kitchen Aid this time. I expect the bigger motor to have greater cooling capacity, and will hope other parts last longer.

    Thank you for this great test! I still hesitate between Vitamix and KitchenAid. Performance of motor seems to be better on KA 3,5cv, but the Vitamix has better reference ... Speed is more higher for PRO750, so...I am confused to choose...

    • @ehtcom
      @ehtcom 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The test is flawed and full of "intentional" bias.
      Kitchenaid starts with dry ingredients, then water added.
      Vitamix has wet soaked added ingredients softening and weighting to make blending easier.
      Kitchenaid does have a pulsing mix setting, they need to learn how to use the product before comparing.
      The "sound level" test is a joke. The meter needs to be on a fixed mount the exact same distance from each unit under test. I noticed he almost touches the Kitchenaid when measuring, the Vitamix he keeps it a few inches away. For each double of distance from a noise source the sound pressure decreases by 6db. and to prove my point, I measured the sound from my pc and the Vitamix averaged 4db louder....
      Take the lid off at the spout or handle, easy.

    I have a Vitamix and a blendtec. The Vitamix is more prone to struggling with thicker things like but butters etc and younger the classic burning smell and grinding noise but it still works fine. Aside from that I use both according to what I'm making. The Vitamix is second to none in terms of creating perfect soups. I wouldn't mind putting this KA up against the two though.

  • @o.b.v.i.u.s
    @o.b.v.i.u.s 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    a somewhat unscientific comparison... just by listening to this audio i can tell the KitchenAid spins _faster_ than the VitaMix, so it's not fair to compare noise levels at full speed... the KA might be quieter when at the same speed as the VM... also, you can't evenly compare flavor/texture of two smoothies made several minutes apart...
    i own 3 VM machines ~two 5200's and a 7500~ and i absolutely love them... one of my 5200's has been used virtually every day for about 30 years... so i guess you can say i'm a big believer in the VitaMix... still, i've had many many KitchenAid products that have served me very well... it'd be nice to see a truly fair and rigorous comparison between these machines...

    Might have been a better idea to at least have tried the Kitchenaid before using it for the very first time in a video you're going to publish. He did not mention that the decibel scale isn't linear, so the 2.5 dB difference (94.5 and 97.0 dB) between the two isn't just 2.64% louder. (Honestly, I like both of these, but they're both way too loud.). As for one remark that he babbled, in his defense, I have used both of these, and it does come down to fumbling for a determinant choice between them because they both perform really well. If anyone here remembers the first Kitchenaid blender from the 1990s, this Kitchenaid finally gets it.

    As a Vitamix owner (and I don’t plan on buying from another brand) it looks like the Kitchenaid blatantly preformed better. This seemed bias. As soon as the vitamix ended he started talking about “I’m gonna compare the sound as well” as if he saw that the Vitamix had lose and had to find another reason to save it, as Vitamix’s are usually better on noise than other blender. No hate, again I have a vitamix 5300, it’s the best thing I’ve ever spent money on, but it doesn’t feel like the vitamix won this one.

    I've just bought the KitchenAid Power Plus blender, so I am not sure what the difference is between that and the Pro Line. I did notice no mention was made of aesthetics. The KitchenAid one is beautiful and it is heavy because of the quality of the materials. The Vitamix looks dated and cheap. Sorry. I found no problem getting the lid off the KitchenAid, which is the same as on the Pro Line. I note that the ingredients used for comparison were not the same. Also it looks as if the KitchenAid jug has thermal walls to keep in heat (if you are using it for cooked food presumably), and the Vitamix does not. I also notice the KitchenAid has measurements marked on the jug which is not obvious for the Vitamix, so ??? I just tried the KitchenAid blender and it is so powerful that it did the job in seconds. Oh, and I highly recommend that the KitchenAid burr coffee grinder, it's a wow!

    Phony horsepower rating: 746 watts = 1 horsepower. 3.5 hp x 746 watts/hp = 2,611 watts. 1 volt - amp = 1 watt.A typical household circuit is 15 amps at 110 volt or 110 x 15 amps = 1650 watts so, either the kitchenaid is going to blow the circuit breaker or it really doesn't produce 3.5 horsepower. The 2.2 horsepower Vitamix 2.2 x 746 watt/hp=1641 watts which is close to the maximum of the 15 amp circuit. Shame on Kichenaid.

    • @jolyonwelsh9834
      @jolyonwelsh9834 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Robert Bolton The standard 120 volt circuit these days is rated at 20 amp (with 12 guage wires). This is a code requirement for kitchens. And has been for a while.

    • @robertbolton3891
      @robertbolton3891 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      OK lets assume a 20 amp circuit: 3.5 hp X 746 watts/hp = 2611 watts / 110v = 23.7 amps still over your 20 amp circuit and it's probably a GFI circuit and over time they seem to trip easier at close to maximum load.
      So either breakers will trip or it is a phony horsepower rating .

      hahh.. I was thinking about this horse power talk and thought damn, what it I cant get any "good one" if it will pop my fuze swich down/circuit breaker all the time :P and ya it is recuired for kitchens to have their own circuit and a bit powerful then rest basic once, but only oven and the plug for micro ect will have their own, my home fridge and lamps share one. then oven has its own (oven micro in one machine) and then the rest one one in the kitchen.

    • @kenslaughter00
      @kenslaughter00 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      These horsepower ratings are, of course, Peak Horsepower. Peak horsepower is the amount of power generated when the motor meets resistance, such as the instant the motor starts spinning at startup. A split-second after initial startup, the power of the motor drops to the running horsepower.
      The Vitamix 2.2 HP is peak horsepower, but its running horsepower is at 120 volts and 12 amps, or 1,440 watts. That's 1.93 operating horsepower.
      The KitchenAid's running power is 15 amps @ 120 volts, or 1800 Watts, or 2.41 horsepower (KitchenAid claims 2.45, but it's really only 2.412).

      I'm glad you brought the warranty question up since I'm looking for a new blender. I did a little digging and found out they will repair or replace their product for 10 years and yes, if you buy the one with the Thermal Jar, it will heat soups, etc. I don't have any need for that personally but I guess that would be nice if you did. I need one for juices and smoothies so it's irrelevant. As far as Quality, I know Grandmas that still have their Kitchen Aids from the 50's. Hope that helps.

      spiritual nutrition to comment on the heating the truth is neither blender heat. the heating is done only through friction of blade to food and time. and power as well. However, with the thermal control jar the kitchenaid is able to keep the soup at a good temperature longer. Also, as far as quality goes I would say that as long as Kitchenaid had been an in home brand (which is knocking on year 100's door) quality is their business. As a person who has had some minor hickups with some products they are excellent with customer service/care. if you purchase anything of theirs and have an issue just call and talk to them they will be more than interested. if you want to know more about this blender also and see it in person call your local Williams-Sonoma and see if the rep is their or if they are using it for a demo. Williams-Sonoma is great for checking out new kitchen appliances and for having someone to be able to inform you and show how its used.

As for noise emission; decibels of 97 for the KitchenAid Pro vs 94.5 for the VitaMix = 3.5 difference (not 4)...really not perceptibly different, especially when you factor in the higher horsepower of 3.5HP of the KitchenAid to 2.2HP on the Vitamix...making the KitchenAid proportionally quieter when looking at its power level...it may not have been heId equal distance and you seem to personally favor the VitaMix a bit. I returned my VitaMix for a KitchenAid Pro-Line Series due to the VitaMix seizing up and smelling like burnt rubber when running thicker things, like sherbet, etc. Also, the KitchenAid Pro-Line has a 10 year , the Vitamix blender has only 7 year warrantee. KitchenAid offers a thermal double-walled blender jar. Vitamix offers a personal sized jar option as well as jars for grinding your own flours. The KitchenAid absolutely does not migrate/move across the counter at all...SOLID!

      maptrking when comparing the two blenders KitchenAid dial is stronger as it is metal as opposed to VitaMix's plastic. When touching the two dials you can feel the sturdyness of KitchenAid dial and really the body as a whole.

      Dodged a Bullet is right. The KitchenAid dial feels more solid. I have a Vitamix A3500, and truly enjoy it. I like its control panel, and how it feels overall. A Vitamix is a blender. It was made to liquefy and blend LIQUID ingredients. I am not going to make my Vitamix do chocolate chip cookies. That's what my stand mixer is for.

Also don't like the lid & how it pulls off compared to the KitchenAids. There should be some resistance in turning the selection dial...not loose-goosey.

    I got this KitchenAid blender for Christmas from my mum. I'm not sold on it... It is RIDICULOUSLY NOISY on high speed settings, so noisy I have to remove it from my kitchen so I don't disturb my neighbours - and i'm not even joking!! Also, I saw on videos of cooking soup with the hot soup function and raw veg.. now I tried this and it was foul and definitely not cooking anything, even though it was quite warm - so thats a function which just doesn't work correctly!! Unless i'm missing something?? And finally... if I go through the speed dial, quite often it will turn itself off and blink amber and I then need to turn off the power to reset it. Is the speed dial not supposed to be moved when in use?
    Please let me know if you have had these experiences as mine was an ex-display model and had no instructions..

      It's an professional blender, so its gonna be loud 🔊. For the soup heating part, its not supposed to boil it down to smush, in health perspective its perfect to keep it " raw " Flavor wise i have to agree with you it tastes better when cooked completely 😋. So i just put hot bouillon in it to start with. ( Or you could boil it on the stove afterwards )

      But I did have to have a replacement as the dial issue kept re-occuring even after being "fixed". The new one is a touch quieter too..
      Got a free KitchenAid baking dish for my troubles too :)
      I still would not buy one again.. I'd get a round one I think..

      Joe Smith so there is a feature at the end of the dial that is for self clean and no a half of the jar with water is actually too much. it only requires about 8-12oz of water and a couple of drops of soap it is also dishwasher safe. the base is easy to wipe to down and the rubber bottom comes off and is also dishwasher safe and so is the tamper it comes with which this video did not show in comparison.

      +10 db is perceived has twice as loud but +3 db takes 2X the amount of power from an amplifier to achieve the three decibel increase in loudness, so twice as loud takes 10X the power.
      So the difference between 1 watt and 10 watts is perceived as twice as loud, 10 watts, it takes 100 watts to become 2X as loud, 1000 watts twice as loud as 100 Watts etc....its because it's not linear but logarithmic, just like how brightness measured from a TV in Nits.

    Your test is flawed and full of "intentional" bias.
    Kitchenaid starts with dry ingredients, then water added.
    Vitamix has wet soaked added ingredients softening and weighting to make blending easier.
    Kitchenaid does have a pulsing mix setting, learn to use the product before comparing.
    Your "sound level" test is a joke. The meter needs to be on a fixed mount the exact same distance from each unit under test. I noticed you almost touch the Kitchenaid when measuring, the Vitamix you keep it a few inches away. For each double of distance from a noise source the sound pressure decreases by 6db. and to prove my point, I measured the sound from my pc and the Vitamix averaged 4db louder....
    Take the lid off at the spout or handle, easy.
