I lived in Kenya for six years when my dad was deployed to the US Embassy in Nairobi by the State Department. We were primarily lived in Nairobi, but we got around pretty much. I think Samburu was my personal most enjoyable visit within the country, mostly because of the culture of the natives in that region.
I remember when my dad was redeployed to the Belgian post in Brussels, the rest of my family stayed back for two more years because we just couldn't get enough of this great nation! If I were you, I'd take a road trip down to Maasai Mara then across the border to the Serengeti- it was definitely one of my best experiences when I still lived there. WISH TO BE BACK SOON!
Don't stop your tour in Kenya if you can- Africa has many more awesome nations to visit! Kenya held a special place in my heart, but South Africa and Egypt definitely put up a competition when I visited in late 2018. Explore and enjoy the Motherland, brother- I definitely know how enchanting it can be to be back. Quite an amazing feeling!

Bruh, I spent 4.5 months in Nairobi from October 2011 to February 2012 on a business trip for what was GM East Africa (now Isuzu East Africa) and it was the most spiritually moving experience I've ever had. I've never felt so much love from people that looked like me. Your video shows that Nairobi has evolved since 2011-2012. But, I had some of the same experiences; The Village Mall (of which you probably could have found pretzels), The Giraffe Center (of which the first time I went, my driver purchased my ticket while I stood in the background looking "Kenyan" LOL), Nairobi National Park (of which I went several times), The Nairobi Club and the Masai Market (I suspect it was the one near City Center and KICC). I've got several questions to ask you, but my main question is how did you hook up with the local sponsors (Wangechi & Ashley) so fast? It took me three (3) weeks before I found one. LOL It's always great to have someone local to show you around. Once I was there and got to know one of the local travel agents, my trips to the various game reserves I ventured out to became real cheap; based on local prices. I'm glad you had such a good time. If you have not, do an Ancestry, African Ancestry and CRI genetics DNA tests. Years after being in Nairobi for 4.5 months and all of my newly found Kenyan friends teasing me about which of the 42 Kenyan tribes I would have belonged to, I found out I have lineage to the Luhya tribe. This video makes me miss "Home."

Nairobi, popularly known as “Green City in the Sun” has an amazing culture, which is unparalleled in any other city. The city is known for its sheer natural beauty that will take your breath away. Nairobi is a lively city, full of culture, historically rich, home to beautiful national parks and wildlife.
