Can't wait to see a palette declutter from you. I had to declutter about half my palettes last week. I did a smell check and things smelled kind of funky. It wasn't obvioys until I put it up to my nose but... it was no bueno. I still have about 15 palettes and have plenty on my wishlist but I want to get to a point where I've got 5-6 palettes. 10 max. I had about 40 a year or 2 ago, so we're making progress. I'm looking for a single similar to what is in the top part of defiance. I considered repurchasing it, but I don't want to soend $40 right now specifically for that bright sparkly topper shade.
I LOVE powder makeup for travel- it’s light, easy to wear and saves room in the TSA liquid bag for skincare which is my priority (skin gets cranky with travel)
yinzer here (meaning I'm from the Pittsburgh/western Pennsylvania area, if you're not familiar) - we call it a hair tie. even though it absolutely doesn't tie at all lol. loooooove a good makeup chores/declutter day! and I'm totally a minimalist in my tastes, so in a given week I'm using maybe 4-5 brushes max that I wash 1-2x weekly to minimize breakout risk (powder foundation brush, eyebrow brush w/spoolie, setting powder brush, and 1-2 eyeshadow brushes because I ONLY do one-and-done eyeshadows on the daily)
I'm from Michigan and I say hair ties. I"m going on a trip in February so this was really helpful. I tend to over pack so great tips in here! Thank you.
Try using a piece of “Press and Seal” for the Flower Beauty pots you threw the tabs out for. And press the press and seal onto the product before you close it to keep the fresher longer. 😉
Eye brushes and sponges I wash every time after I did my make up... Which is daily most of the time. Blush and contour brushes about once a week :) My rule is that if I'm to tired to clean up than I'm to tired for make up - just skip for the day... I value the way my skin IS over the way it looks.
I’ve lived in Nebraska for almost 10 years, and I’m from Hawaii. In Hawaii we called them hair bands or hair ties. In Nebraska, I hear people call them ponytails, ponytail holders, hair ties.
@44:00 yesss I can’t explain why I find some minis so cute 🥰 The cutest mini (IMO) is the mini Peach & Lily Ginger Oil Melt Cleanser that they sometimes give out in samples. The bottle looks like it belongs in a doll house, but that sample lasted me multiple trips!
For your necklaces you can put it in press and seal wrap which is located right next to Saran wrap or tin foil. When I went on vacation I put my necklaces in there and then you just fold it over and holds everything in place and you can actually roll it up.
For the Jelly much shadows, Amanda from @makeup just for fun mentioned that a little bit of water/setting spray/ Duraline can easily revive them. You just gotta put in a few drops of it. I personally have not tried it as I don't own any jelly much shadows, but leaving this here nonetheless if this comment catche your eye. Love you channel btw
I have tried it with one of my Colourpop Super Shock Shadows and an Ulta Bouncy Cream Shadow and it totally worked! I do feel that you only have to use like one drop and it did seem to tone down the pigment a little and make the glitter stand out more.
When I pack makeup for a trip, I usually put a few pumps of foundation in a tiny plastic container. It doesn't just save space, but it makes quite a different in weight. My favorite foundation for example is the Haus Labs one, but it's a heavy thing.
I was actually cleaning my brushes / thinking of what makeup to bring / packing for a week-long trip (leaving in 10 hours eeep) while watching this vid. Definitely felt the comradery but I'm still pondering my makeup options 😬
I'm from North Carolina and I have always called it a "hair tie" and "ponytail" is the hairstyle. "I put my hair up in a ponytail with a hair tie". It's so interesting what people say where lol😊
Sugar rush reminds me of urban decay moondust in solstice! I wear it with mauvy mattes, maybe a taupe or dark charcoal outer corner, and solstice over lid over the mauve mattes.
I like layering my ND mini glam palette over CT oyster pearl. Agree on creasing though - I usually wear an eyeshadow primer and setting spray when I use them.
So I work from home so I rarely do my make up, maybe 1-2x per week. I have tons of brushes but I definitely have my favorites! I keep all my dirty brushes in a cup, and once the cup is full I try to wash them, I’ll be honest, I’m not the best at keeping up on my brush cleaning though! I loved seeing all the eyeshadows, the information and swatches were super helpful!
Yes that swatch of the single pigment from a brand that's no longer is beautiful.....IMO the other ones that are stunning is the ColourPop super shock one, both Charlotte Tilbury ones, both urban decay one and that flower beauty one that u said was your fave of the two......edit: omg that purple one from ColourPop is stunning.......oh yeah and ALL THE ULTA LUSTROUS FOILS ARE STUNNING.....if any of y'all in thr comments haven't tried that line of shadow from ULTA ....it's a must if u love foiled looking shadows
Colourpop super shock shadow in Ritz is my favorite single shadow. Elfs liquid duochrome in Mer-mazing kept me from buying an entire palette for one shade recently. I bought a bunch of those Ulta Bouncy Cream Shades after you showed the dupe for UD Space Cowboy and they are all fantastic....you just did it again!
I am from southern Illinois and I call it a pony tail holder. My necklaces are constantly getting tangled. I would love any tips. I never considered using a straw. Interesting…
i love oyster pearl but it creases horribly on me too! maybelline "high roller"/"on and on bronze" is a veryyy similar shade which actually sets down and doesn't move (but it has less reflection and glow)
One thing that I started doing about a year ago that has made a huge difference is washing my eye brushes daily. I use from two to five eye brushes each day. I just use the Sigmagic Scrub to clean them, then lay on a towel to dry. It hardly takes any time at all. Then, every two weeks, I only have to worry about my face brushes and sponges to wash. I do have a lot of brushes, but eye brushes are the ones that can muddy up a look if they aren't clean.
I have purchased five of those flower beauty, blush brushes on your recommendation. Absolutely agree, they are fantastic. Especially for super pigmented blushes, which is what I prefer, but I don’t want my blushes to go on looking like a clown. 🤡
I have 2 cream/mouse eyeshadows that I took on vacation and then didn't use for a bit. With a clean spoon I scraped off the top layer. Almost good as new. It's the Maybelline Tattoo eyeshadow in a pot/jar. I have one Ulta Beauty creme eye shadow & liner pencil. It's in "I lilac you a lot" it doesn't have enough pigment as a liner and sheers out if blended. I don't know how it is over time I gave up on it as soon as I tried to use it.
I dont have a huge brush collection a considerable amount, but not too much. I also wash my brushes the same day I my makeup. Becuase if you wait too long it can harbor bacteria and boom acene. But everyone's different in their routine. I agree with you that in the colder months its more difficult to pack becuase you have to have bulky sweaters, jackets, and different sets of clothing.
These are so relaxing and fun for you too I bet. I wash my brushes once a week. I don't have enough face to really wait a long time and for eyes I use a lot of the same styles of brushes but I have a couple more of those like under 40 total brushes maybe? I know if I had more I would be lazy with it.
I say hair tie or ponytail, but I'm also from the Midwest. I visit friends and family who live in Alabama and Louisiana, and they say either or granted they sound more whimsical with the southern accent.
The Merit shadows are my fave product of the year. I use Social more than Studio, and I layer mine ALL THE TIME 😂 I use the Hourglass single shadows or my Rare Beauty or Victoria Beckham shadow sticks.
The NYX Mermaid Eyeshadow is still available on NYX's website. I found the Elf Mint Eyeshadow Stick in Marshall's and let me tell you that one sucks cause it doesn't come off at all but I do love the Elf No Budge Shadow Sticks/Eyeshadow, Colourpop's Super Shock Shadows, Colourpop's Shadow Sticks, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil (my holy grail for one and done makeup look), Ciate London's Marbled Metals Metallic Glitter Eyeshadow in Entwine. My favorite liquid shadows are Ciate London's Eye Lustre Glitter Liquid Shadow Topper in Cupid (love this for a holiday makeup look), Elf's Liquid Glitter Eyeshadows in Flirty Birdie, Mermaid Shimmy, and Disco Queen, NYX'S Ultimate Glow Shots Vitamin C Liquid Eyeshadow in Wow Cocoa, Essence Luminous Eye Tint Liquid Shadow in Gleaming Charm (found that if use a pot eyeshadow primer it will last longer and won't crease), and LA Girl Dream Glitter Liquid Eyeshadow in Iridescent.
Kelly, if you are keeping a product just for the sake of showing it later, maybe you could just film the product in your hands, how you swatch it etc. and just use the clips in future videos. 😊
I just call it a hair elastic??? (Or a scrunchie, depending on what we're talking about.) But whether the elastic is small and rubbery or bigger and covered in fabric, they're all just hair elastics to me and most of the people around me.
I call them hair ties 😂 I am from NY but have since moved to the west I think ponytail holder makes sense but seems lengthy and what if you’re going to use it for a braid or pigtails? Lol
Girl, do zoom in and out with these videos. It’s much more interesting to also see your beauty room, set up, film area, organization. Vlog style keeps viewers longer ❤
i find the kiss of copper blonzer make me look sunburnt no matter how little i apply (i’m have light-medium skin tone), also, if i put it anywhere near my eyes it looks like alcohol induced flush
In Australia we say "hair elastics". You tie your hair up in a pony tail with a hair elastic.
I find these makeup chores videos and talk throughs of what youre packing are so comforting.
Also, i call them hair ties.

To me, the ponytail is the hair that comes out of the elastic/hair tie/scrunchie 💁♀️🤷♀️
I love my Revlon Colorstay cream shadows in the pot. I have three of them and they are my most used shadows. Best one-and-done also!
Eye brushes and sponges I wash every time after I did my make up... Which is daily most of the time. Blush and contour brushes about once a week :) My rule is that if I'm to tired to clean up than I'm to tired for make up - just skip for the day... I value the way my skin IS over the way it looks.

when i travel i try to bring makeup items that are almost finished, so at the end of the trip i can just toss them:)
Love your declutter / chores videos ❤
Yay more makeup chores 😊 Thanks Kelly I love these + always feel more motivated to wash my brushes and go through my products
Yes!! Her videos always motivate me to do the same!! Thanks Kelly❤
Ponytail is definitely a Michigan thing lol! I use to say it when I lived in NJ and everyone was so confused. 😂
Wait…. What do other people call it?!
@@Xtine728 a hair tie
I love these videos! They’re just so relaxing to watch 😊
Would love to see a closet declutter😍
I enjoyed watching you pack. You have so much self control cause I bring EVERYTHING “just in case” 😂
kelly you look ILLUMINATED just had to say how gorgeous you are!!
You can reactivate Jelly Much shadows with water! I have the Star Wars one and that’s what I do
When I pack makeup for a trip, I usually put a few pumps of foundation in a tiny plastic container. It doesn't just save space, but it makes quite a different in weight. My favorite foundation for example is the Haus Labs one, but it's a heavy thing.
Thanks for the decluttering videos, I love these videos myself too. Also, I love your nails.😊
Great video! You covered all the bases! Motivated to wash my brushes now
I was actually cleaning my brushes / thinking of what makeup to bring / packing for a week-long trip (leaving in 10 hours eeep) while watching this vid. Definitely felt the comradery but I'm still pondering my makeup options 😬
Oh I love that Elf mascara I got the dark brown one after I saw u put it in! It’s so pretty!!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
I'm from North Carolina and I have always called it a "hair tie" and "ponytail" is the hairstyle. "I put my hair up in a ponytail with a hair tie". It's so interesting what people say where lol😊
I'm from Northern ky we say ponytail holder or rubber band mostly hair tye
Hourglass ScatteredLights in the color Smoke is my favorite eyeshadow in my collection.
It’s so beautiful!
Im from the UK and I would say the term you hear most is hair bands
Or hair bobble! 😊
Sugar rush reminds me of urban decay moondust in solstice! I wear it with mauvy mattes, maybe a taupe or dark charcoal outer corner, and solstice over lid over the mauve mattes.

I’m from Southern California and I say “hair ties” or sometimes I say rubber bands even though I know they aren’t rubber bands lol.
I always layer a shimmer or glitter over the merit shadows and they work great. I never have any issues.
I love these type of videos, The Elf no budge shadow pots and the sticks I use them more as a base then by their self.
New Yorker here, we call them ponytails, as do my relatives in Michigan, it's all good.
If you just use the merit eyeshadow, can you put a sparkly topper eyeshadow or do they not play well together?
This is my question too!
Welcome to London. We have absolutely beastly weather now Kelly
I used to use that bare minerals loose shadow. When I used it back in like 2008, I didn’t even know eyeshadow palettes existed 😂
I am from southern Illinois and I call it a pony tail holder. My necklaces are constantly getting tangled. I would love any tips. I never considered using a straw. Interesting…
Growing up I used to just call it a rubber band; now I just say hair tie. 😊
I'm from the UK, and to me it is called a 'hair bobble' :)
Girl I love your makeup look!
i love oyster pearl but it creases horribly on me too! maybelline "high roller"/"on and on bronze" is a veryyy similar shade which actually sets down and doesn't move (but it has less reflection and glow)
I might need to look for this! I love the shade oyster pearl and can only make it not crease if I use eye primer and setting powder.
If you only have carry on remember the size of liquids is limited. I’m only saying this because I always remember too late 😂😂 x
This was all small enough :)

I have that nabla bronzer and love it
It’s sooo good!

I’m going to London next month! Thank you for the packing inspiration.
I am from Brazil and I live in MI hahah I call it hair tie. the ponytail is the hairdo itself. well... to me hahaha
I dont have a huge brush collection a considerable amount, but not too much. I also wash my brushes the same day I my makeup. Becuase if you wait too long it can harbor bacteria and boom acene. Love your nails 😍

I just call it a hair elastic??? (Or a scrunchie, depending on what we're talking about.) But whether the elastic is small and rubbery or bigger and covered in fabric, they're all just hair elastics to me and most of the people around me.
“Hair thing” or “hair tie” from Chicago
I call it a hair elastic 😆
Same! I’m from MA
I say ponytail! And I’m also from Michigan!
I'm from Chicago and I call them hair ties!
I'm from AL, I say either hair tie or ponytail holder.
I call ponytail elastics "hair dos" LoL!! I'm from the Oregon coast... 🩷🌊🏖️
What are you wearing on your eyes, please? I am curious about the permanent bracelet. Could you pleas share more about that?
Also from MI and call them ponytails 😂😂
Is that permanent bracelet the Catbird zapped bracelet? Sometimes they have a pop ups in LA I’ve thought about getting one
I call them hair ties 😂 I am from NY but have since moved to the west
I think ponytail holder makes sense but seems lengthy and what if you’re going to use it for a braid or pigtails? Lol

I’m in Louisiana and I also say “ponytail” 😅
Kelly! Your Tarte Cloud Coverage is part of the Ulta Black Friday Sale for 50% off. Starting Tuesday, Nov 21 “50% off must-haves”
I'm from Minnesota and I say ponytail😊
I'm in South Texas, and we say ponytail. 😂
Interesting! I'm in Houston and myself and the people I know say "hair tie"
how do you remove the glue remaining in your nails?
How does the Naturium Dew-Glow Moisturizer SPF work under makeup?? Would love to get your thoughts!
i find the kiss of copper blonzer make me look sunburnt no matter how little i apply (i’m have light-medium skin tone),
also, if i put it anywhere near my eyes it looks like alcohol induced flush
What is the permanent bracelet and why is it needed? 🤔
It’s a bracelet lol
@@KellyGooch I mean why would you want a bracelet that you can’t ever take off? Is it like wedding ring? 🤨
I think they’re a new trend. I know a girl who has a “permanent anklet”
I’m nor California we call It a hair tie
Self tanner lip liner? Is that a new thang and how long does it last…demo please!
Hair elastic or scrunchie
How does the ulta chunky one compare to the chunky glitter shades in the kaja trios??
I'm from Michigan I always say pony tails.
Only say ponytails too!
I call them ponytail holders or hair ties
Must be Midwest - I’m from Illinois and say that as well. Lol
I’m from Missouri and I say ponytail
