I have a son who constantly gives me beeswax candles. He often buys them while on retreats to monasteries. He is on retreat now and sent me a picture of more candles for me. What an amazing coincidence.

Maybe it would be a good idea to share them with friends and family? I think we are supposed to have faith that one blessed candle will last the entire 3 days.

✝️❤ Ok folks, I don't ever request anything from this channel, but I'm going to tonight, and this request goes out to you too Father Mark.
I was flipping through TH-cam today and for some reason this kid (anyone under 40 is a kid to me), anyway, this kid with a TH-cam channel just pops up for no reason. He has advanced stage 4 bowel cancer, and is dying. He was in tears as he admitted this to his channel, and that he has only a couple of months to live. It has spread to his liver and is inoperable.
However, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH OUR GREAT GOD, so I'm going to ask you all, each and every one of you to pray hard for this kid and let's see if we can start his new year off with a genuine charismatic miracle healing.
His name is Ollie, and I believe that with enough fervent and focused prayer, the Lord might heal the kid, and if not, at least save his soul.
I myself have no interest in airsoft, and don't know why I was shown this kid, except the Holy Spirit works that way with me sometimes. That little voice says "pay attention, you have to help this one," and maybe He is going to put the channel to a big test. The question here is:
Do we have enough faith between us to heal him, and How many of us will follow through like Jesus asks us to and pray for one another and Ollie?
I truly believe it is possible, and I know that God put this kid in front of me for a reason and will be watching what each of us does. ⭐️Thank you for reading this.

While visiting a friend in Florida (also on a personal mini retreat for Monicas HOPE Ministry), I broke my wrist. When the doctor began the process of setting the break, I broke into tears, but not because of the pain. All I could think of was how much our Lord's suffered for us. This little bit of pain that I was going through was nothing compared to what He CHOSE to suffer for EACH and EVERY broken, sinful, fallen creatures that He created and loves💗

I went to the church near me on Candlemas Day and although there was a mass, the priest did not bless any beeswax candles. There were some church provided candles placed at the back of the church, which the priest blessed, but that was it. And when I asked about seeing a priest to bless the beeswax candles that I had brought, as well as matches, etc., I was told to come back another time. I was given some times that were available, but I couldn’t make.

However I do know we should be asking like King David to be searched and tried and to have the Holy Spirit reveal our faults on a daily basis. This is what I was thinking with this prayer..
There is an alleged apparition of Our Lady at Garabandal that talks about The Great Warning and Illumination of Conscience at the end of time. According to the Marian apparition, the Great Warning is the illumination of conscience that comes shortly before the end times and everyone will personally experience an awareness of their own sinfulness. The person will be alone before God and that will be a kind of “wake-up call” to each human being. While this may sound intimidating, we should all be living our lives with a knowledge of our sinfulness and a constant effort to remedy our faults.

I made 2 large beeswax candles and took them to be blessed along with a long-necked lighter. The priest declined to bless the lighter, saying it would be like blessing a sofa or something similar [it seemed like the practical thing to do at the time 🙂]. So I am trusting that the candles will be lit when the time comes.

I bought my Beeswax candle after reading the book The Three Days of Darkness. After that I had an illumination of consciousness and repented. I stoped drinking and running around and doing things I had no business doing. I discovered the word Metanoia and became obsessed with it. I have forgiven all those who hurt me and there have been many! I’m still on my journey of forgiveness and repentance and encourage others, sometimes they reject me but I keep praying for them. Thank you for the reminder of the number 3… it has repeatedly shown itself and shouldn’t be ignored. Thank you Father Goring … I’m fun lol

I have had beeswax candles on hand all my life. My Grandmother was a medicine woman and would burn no other type of candle. Amazing how she had so many connections to Jesus in her own life and ways. She loved Jesus and made sure we, her grandchildren, did too. I am old and I miss her still.

Never did I consider being prepper but look at the trajectory we are on. Things are so off the rails that it can only take Divine intervention for the course correction. Yeah I've got the blessed candles from Fr. Chris Alar. I've got back power, well stocked food supply, etc. We have car and house insurance just in case but once you pay those premiums you never get it back unless your house burns down but if food stores are not needed you can use them. Most Catholics I know are completely ignoring the dangers brewing and bless their hearts if the crap hits the fan I'll be able to help them with my food stores. The more the Catholic community prepares, the more we'll be able to help our brothers and sisters who didn't. Charity

As someone who has worked with beeswax before and made candles for a short time, it’s not that easy and affordable. Candle making is work. Buying the wax is expensive and if one is rendering their own wax from bee hives, it’s a lot of work! Cleaning wax is a tedious task. That said there are some religious orders that make candles for a living and sell them in bulk for a lesser price. That’s where I get my candles now that I don’t make them anymore.

@@AA-gu4mw understood. My concern is that a lot of the items that we have been told that we will need for the Three Days from a practical standpoint are only accessible to the more privileged. I have found that some local candle merchants are perpetually out of stock of their Three Days candles.
Lest we forget the food and toilet paper shortages during the pandemic lockdown thanks to panic buying.

Salvation is NOT giving the Lord anything, it's not giving but it's receiving. There's only one way to be saved, not two or three but one! Salvation is a gift and you're saved by receiving that gift by faith and not giving him anything. Not giving him your heart, many people also think that you can say the sinner's prayer to be saved but that's also wrong.Many people are disagreed with God's Word which clearly says - Ephesians 1:13 - King James Version - In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. Trust God's Word and don't rely on giving the Lord your heart or praying the sinner's prayer! You hear the Word of Truth, the gospel of your salvation and you place your trust in Jesus Christ and his finished crosswork by believing it. Any other way, any so-called way of salvation is counterfeit.So you don't ask Jesus into your heart to be saved, you don't give him your heart to be saved, you don't confess your sins to be saved, you don't ask for forgiveness to be saved, you don't turn from your sins to be saved, you don't recite a prayer, say a few our Fathers and some Hail Marys.
You can find the gospel of your salvation in the dispensation of God's grace in 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 1-4, by trusting and believing the gospel of salvation you are saved, baptized in the Body of Christ and sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise till the day of redemption and nothing can pluck you out of the Father his hand - (In whom we have redemption through his blood , even the forgiveness of sins: (Colossians 1:14 - King James Version).

Open the eyes of my heart Lord
Father, forgive me for saying this but, you’re wondering off the mark! Yes, Jesus will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. The specific details regarding a warning sign before his return vary among theologians. While there are passages in scripture that describe signs preceding his return ( Matthew 24:29-31), the specific nature of a warning sign before his return is a matter of interpretation. While even approved apparitions offer additional insights, none are binding on Catholics. All the Church guarantees about them is that there is nothing in them that is contrary to Church teaching. The Church's focus remains on the public revelation contained in Scripture and Tradition.
The “Three Days of Darkness”, etc., are not official doctrines of the Church. The faithful are under no obligation to pay them any mind. What a person needs to do is get right with Christ now, get right with God now. Pray, go to mass, partake in the sacraments, Eucharist, Confession, etc. Treat your fellow neighbour as you would yourself. If one is right with God, one has no need to be concerned about their salvation.
No one needs to stock blessed bees-waxed candles. I actually had someone ask me, “Are candles that are only 50% beeswax sufficient?” Really? Our salvation now depends on the percentage of beeswax found in a candle? This fearmongering has got to stop.
This notion of “Three Days of Darkness”, “Beeswax candles” and “houses of refuge” are all over the Internet and Catholic discussion. I have watched a series of three TH-cam videos from a priest, Fr. Chris Alar and a Catholic prognosticator, Daniel O’Connor who are proponents of the Three Days of Darkness. Some concerns have arisen about some of the content in these videos.
While they fully acknowledge that Catholics are not obliged to ascent to the belief in the “three days of darkness”, they nevertheless, go on to promote such an event spreading fear and concern.
Fr. Alar even goes one better, he does an impromptu commercial for these “beeswax candles”. One of the things mentioned is the need to store only blessed beeswax candles during the Three Days of Darkness because they are the only things that will give light. In one video, Fr. Alar makes a pitch to sell some. He “guarantees” the candles have “at least 51% beeswax.
In one segment, Fr. Alar mentions that five things must happen before the Second Coming of Christ. One of them is, that the Jewish people will convert to Catholicism. This is a common teaching of the Church. This, in and of itself, should be a clue to Fr. Alar and to the rest of us, that Christ’s return is not imminent.
As for the Illumination of Conscience, the Warning and the Three Days of Darkness, you should not be spreading such prophecies the Church is not in agreement with, even though, the faithful are free to believe in private revelations that do not contradict Church teaching.
This all goes to show that when leaving the faithful to their own devices and “seeing there is nothing wrong with wanting to be prepared in every way.” things can go a tad off-kilter. The use of beeswax candles and seeking out houses of refuge during the supposed "three days of darkness" can be seen as bordering on the occult and superstition for several reasons:
Lack of Church Approval - Private revelations, including the concept of the "three days of darkness," are not considered part of the deposit of faith. The Catholic Church does not officially endorse or promote such events or practices.
Superstitious Beliefs - Superstition involves attributing magical or supernatural powers to certain objects or practices. Believing that beeswax candles or specific houses can protect individuals during the "three days of darkness" may be seen as superstition because it relies on the assumption that these objects possess special powers beyond their natural properties.
Diverting from Church Teachings - Catholic teaching places emphasis on faith in God, trust in His providence, and the importance of sacraments and prayer. Placing excessive focus on the use of specific objects or locations during a particular event can lead to a distortion of Catholic teachings and potentially distract individuals from the true essence of their faith.
Potential Misinterpretation - Private revelations can be misinterpreted or misunderstood, particularly when they are not supported by official Church guidance. Individuals may interpret the "three days of darkness" and associated practices in ways that deviate from authentic Catholic teachings, leading to confusion and potential spiritual harm.
It is essential for Catholics to seek guidance from their “orthodox” local priests, bishops, or other trusted sources within the Church when encountering private revelations or devotions that are not part of the official teachings. Listen to the Church! The Church provides a solid foundation of faith that should be the guiding light for believers, rather than relying on practices that may border on the occult or superstition.
As I understand it, it’s got to be a blessed beeswax candle.

@3172bees this is the comment I was looking for. To me, the candle being blessed is everything, and the beeswax thing seems almost like something frivolous or superstitious.
I just gave my grandparents a blessed bees’ wax candle. My grandfather is about to pass and I thought it might give them comfort. He is spiritually prepared, but please pray for him and our family. We are faithful Catholics but some of our family have left the faith. We’re praying they come back. God bless you! 🙏🏼❤️

The scapular and the rosary are inseparable.
Father, The Lord has given me illumination of conscience about 6 years ago. It is bittersweet because although it is good to see things and ourselves how they are, it is a lot to take in - in our state of mere humanity. It’s also a lonely state because you see things completely different from others around you. But, in this suffering of knowing, we can share in the sufferings of Christ.
I’ve had in the last year or so many small illuminations of conscience but not the real Warning that everyone in the world will experience at the same time. It nevertheless prepares me for the real one, at least a good bit. I find myself remembering many sins, even in my very distant past, many of which I had forgotten about, even some as a tiny child, losing my temper with my siblings etc. Obviously my sins once I grew up became more serious but at least I can show repentance to God before it’s too late. I consider these “tasters” of the Real Warning to be a gift from God, with Him softening the blow so to speak, when it comes the time for the real one.
Regarding the ‘suffering of knowing’ that you mentioned, I feel the same. I do see things differently from most people but though it can be lonely and sometimes feels like a curse/burden to bear, I try to look on it as a blessing instead, and think of it as my particular Cross to bear, which is a privilege, considering that God told us we must take up our own Cross just as Jesus did. 🙏🏻

@@katperson7332same thing happened to me prayed the 15 decade rosary followed by the our lady of sorrows for nine days I recalled sins from 15 years ago I forgot about. It was horrible to recall and felt deep remorse but I’ve returned to confession and mass. It was a deeper conversion back!

This is one and things that Luther rebel against in the medieval church
Faith, in Jesus obedience to God‘s laws and acceptance of his unconditional love and mercy is what we need and believe

Disconnecting from tech for lent 💜
I can maybe do the 3 days that he suggested…I would love to be able to do it for entire Lent. I realize there is so much poison and fear on the internet (both truth and false info), but stress is the poison that hurts the mind and body, because why have knowledge of things we have no control over? I would miss my “holy” podcasts such as this too. Maybe I could limit myself to holy videos and chants.
I did take up Fr Mark’s Three-Day original freedom from technology, and all I can say, is, wow! Easiest way to start- because it won’t be easy-is to start at the Holy Hour of 3:00 on a Sunday afternoon. And to go on into the evening of Sunday-it’s getting easier-Monday comes, and pretty soon you really don’t miss it all. Do give any family members a heads-up who might call not to become alarmed if you don’t answer their calls, texts, etc. May the Holy Spirit be with you.
I would have to cut out all the religious stuff on you tube, some news and taking phone calls. Why would anyone want to give it up? They would just go to TV to make up the time.

When I was child whenever was thunderstorm my mother lit a candle /blessed early / and we were an on our knees praying rosary.
The same candle we keep at home and lit it n a last moments of someone who is approaching death.
I read about the three days of darkness in the 70’s. I try to save all the beeswax candles for when this time will come, I keep Holy Water and crucifix and rosaries and other holy things along with the candles in a safe place for when or if I ever need them. It is my security blanket.

Two years ago I ordered a case of 6 blessed beeswax candles. I kept one for us and passed them out to others. I await the Illumination of Conscience with no fear. I await the Miracle that comes within a year after with a happy heart. ❤ Ave Father Thy will be done. 🌈🌈

AMEN Yes ! In Croatia we call that day "Svijećnica" word -svijeća- mean candle and -svijećnica- mean Blessing of candle light and only that candle we using in familly prayers at home. We have rulle that candle allways must be Blessed by our priest before using.

You're the FIRST priest I've ever heard speak of this! I grew up with this belief and read about the prophecy in an old book years ago. Most people say I'm crazy for having the candles, etc

Grew up in fear of the three days of darkness. To the point of making sure to have curtains that cover the window. (If you've heard the story you will understand) My grandma handed this down to us. Now have some windows that don't have curtains. Still have my beeswax candles though, haha, just in case. Saint Padre pio said, "it is easier to live without the Sun than the Holy Eucharist." Learned how true that was during covid lockdowns. That is something to really fear.
If you buy the candle, have a priest bless it.
Matches and lighters should also be blessed. And one should be in a state of grace.

It makes sense, especially as something similar happened with Moses, where People had to follow message that GOD gave to Moses, and had to put the blood of a lamb in shape of Cross on their doorposts.
It is important to be discerning, and also very important to be as prepared as one can be, both Spiritually and Practically.

Remember, 100% beeswax candles and they MUST be BLESSED! I have made a number of these candles, myself, getting the beeswax and wicks from Hobby Lobby. Each was blessed by my pastor who I also gave a few to. Yes, they can be a conversation piece, but they will protect your household in the days ahead.
You can also obtain blessed candles during the Easter vigil.
According to Fr. Chad Ripperger, it helps to practise self-denial everyday and also pray to Our Lady of Sorrows who would reveal the sins that have not been confessed properly. It worked for me and I went to confession soon after that (I realized I failed to observe the Holy days of obligations in weekdays and follow the fasting guideline during Lent).
If we are in the state of grace, we shall feel less pain from the sins that we committed. So we should follow Our Lady's advice to go to confession at least once a month.

It’s a BLESSED beeswax candle, kind of an important point
This is the comment I was looking for. To me, the candle being blessed is everything, and the beeswax thing seems almost like something frivolous or superstitious.
While there could be a Three Days of Darkness at some point (God can do whatever He wants, after all), neither Bl. Maria Taigi nor any other saints or blessed ever prophesied it. The evidence found in the Three Days of Darkness book is all taken out of context or has no sources. Jimmy Akin did an episode on this on his podcast (Jimmy Akin's Mysterious World).
fr. Mark, l appreciate your candor. It's refreshing and oddly comforting to hear a priest say " I don't have a clue ". I am Orthodox Christian and I love the Way of Orthodoxy, having said that, again I appreciate your candor, rather than using "filler" ....it helps to know that even our clergy sometimes wonder rather than putting off with words leaving an even bigger emptiness and more questions than answers... hope the way this is worded makes sense 🙏🏽☦️🌹🕊️

When I go to Confession after I make my Examination of Conscience, I ask the Holy Spirit to let me know any other sins I should be confessing and He usually gives me one more that I forgot or didn’t quite realize that it was sinful.
Yes i have a lot of beeswax. Candles!!Jesus has ALWAYS been in my heart, and HIS words reign in my life, ESPECIALLY these three years!! they have saved me. When I faced adversity at a job, I said...Jesus says Forgive Those that Trespass on you.. Say that at a secular work environment NO ONE has the answer!! I have three blessed candles so looking forward to these day's of darkness... Come Holy Spirit!!

I bought a bunch of beeswax candles a couple years ago. Forgot where. gave some to my daughter just in case.
She tried to use during the power outage this winter storm left. They would not light.
I got one of mine out and the wick is cotton and would not stay lite. I had to dig down to about a half inch to get it to work. I cannot imagine doing this in the dark.
Now I have to find all the candles I have stashed away. Been so long I forgot where I put them. in a perfect place of course.

Both my grandmothers believed in the three days of darkness. My parents also me and my siblings believe strongly in the three days of darkness whether that be all electricity and forms of communication is knocked out or whatever believe me, I have my beeswax candles.

I love your sermons, and as much as possible I've prepared myself for the 3 days of Darkness. Regarding the Candles, I'm concerned how to light them if matches and lighters and modern devices won't work. Given the events and signs with what's happening in the world, I'm convinced that the darkness will happen, but hate to think that if I am fortunate enough to survive the darkness, I will have sat in a pitch black room, for the duration with unburnt candles.

Fr. Padre pio spoke about the 3 days of darkness, it's also in the book of revelations. It states that you have to be in the state of grace or the candle won't burn, and you have to have blessed matches to light the candle. If you read about the 3 days of darkness in revelations, it is going to be a very frightening time. You are to cover all window's and don't look outside or you'll die. There's more, read it.
