@@michaelnelson1128 I agree that penalties are a problem, but the only games that they’ve been a big problem were uga and usf. I think we’ve had 6 or 7 in each of the last 2 games. Penalties weren’t the primary reason Vandy beat us or that usc was so close, although they certainly didn’t help.
I played for him it’s his personality he’s not avoiding anything. He was just in the national championship last year. Why would he need to go outside of himself to prove something to people who put no blood sweat or tears in his program? Not to mention, he hast to fill shoes the size of a continent or people will want him fired immediately. He’s a great coach with a great demeanor and he knows what it takes to win.
Sometimes you have to stay in players butt. Nick knew how to get the players ready to play. DeBoer and Womack make no adjustments at halftime. They keep doing the same thing. The special teams coach is totally incompetent. Jalen makes bad decisions when teams blitz or put pressure on him. He still holds the ball too long.
I think the team isn't nearly as bad as its being made out to be. We had a few lapses in judgement against South Carolina that cost us some points. Overall I would say we need to be a little more willing to run the ball with the running backs on first and second downs. I like the aggression and creativity that Daboer and his staff have brought, I would just like to see it complimented with a good down hill running game. We have a big physical and talented offensive line, we should be able to push teams like Vandy and South Carolina around to a degree at the LOS. Defensively we have a lot of young guys playing on top of it being a new system defensively there are gonna be some growing pains that come with that. I think outside of a couple plays against South Carolina the defense played pretty well. Would like to see them be a little more physical up front against the run on defense as well though.

What people aren't looking at now is all teams are talented. Alabama isn't getting all the best players anymore. It's harder to win games now than years past before the transfer portal and NIL. I don't like how our defense is playing but that's the coaches fault and only Kalen can change it. Kalen and Wommack are friends so we might be stuck with it for a while. Welcome back to the Pete Golding years but I don't think his defenses was this bad. I think the offense is good but they are gonna have to stop giving the ball away.

How about getting two of your main receivers back in Law and Prentice, so Milroe want force to Williams on blanket coverage. No team in the top 10 has looked perfect all season, just a few weeks ago Oregon was overrated, now they’re no. 2. Georgia just gave up 31 to Mississippi State, Texas has not played an offense with a pulse all year. Point is this time last year Bama was losing against Texas, struggling against USF, struggling with Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Arkansas, and the records are still similar. Chill out,new coaches, new schemes and you still 5-1, lot of people had Ole Miss in the SEC championship game and as of today I bet they would rather be in Bama situation.
The only one who is "in over his head" is Kane Wommack. His 3-3-5 Stack defense is too safe and cautious for the SEC. He refuses to be the aggressor and attack QBs for whatever reason or another. The same can not be said about Deboer. He's meeting his expectations: He's improved the offense exponentially; he's masterfully developed Jalen Milroe into a passing threat who's now capable of hitting WRs & TEs on short and intermediate passes now for the first time in his career; he's killing it on the recruiting trail; and he's a cerebral "players coach" who's able to retain our former blue chip recruits instead of watching them fly out the window in droves the way they were in Saban's last 3 years because guys no longer have to put up with the 'tyrannical dictator' type of coach like Saban, Urban, Dabo, and Kirby. Now they can just hop into the transfer portal whenever they want, and revisit their #2 schools from their recruitment. Alabama fans need to realize we are in a new era of college football altogether. One in which future champions and dynasties will be the schools who operate like a NFL franchise since that's essentially where we are with college football nowadays
