- The Mens and Womens division started on Saturday at 8am. Throughout the day the weather got the best of the area putting the tournament into a rain and lightning delay for 30 min. The games then became 2 pitch for the afternoon until the rest of the night. It was cold and windy but a great day nonetheless

They test every bat that's used, nothing is shaved anymore
What’s the rule about batters having to stay in the batters box while swinging? I saw more than a couple of batters with feet out of the box while swinging and after swinging. Just wondering
Back foot can not cross the front of the plate, nor can the front foot cross the plate either.
Batters out can't step out But they're also praying if you hit it Over the fence you don't have to run the base

it 's not the bats....those are some rock-hard a$$ softballs....pretty sure even a mediocre swing could put a ball out! :-)(

I played lots of softball in the 80's 90's and early 2000 and none of these home runs in this video would go out of a 300 ft. field back then. Not even close. Those bats are way too hot.
What balls they are using has something to do with it as well

The compression of those balls must be super high. Seeing a lot of weak, loopy swings hit it over.

Normal compression, it's a tournament you have to buy the balls from them
Curious. Hitting a homerun and NOT running the bases? When I played softball if a home run was hit the batter still ran the bases like in baseball...
Most games are on the clock. They feel it'll take time off, so they don't run. I'd like to see the folks running the base. Be kinda cool.
They changed that rule years ago… hit and sit now to speed up the games

Turf fields are easier to maintain i guess
Less rain outs… esp helps with big tournaments when teams travel to play

We played with super red dot 50 core balls, what kind of ball is that and Is that turf? Never seen that before, we played on hard ass red dirt with a few rocks here n there 😂😂, softball can be super fun especially tournament style!!!!
Love seeing homers, but a low fence at 300 feet...is not really impressive. Maybe if you just started playing, but not for a team made out of huge guys lol. Would be nice at 330-350 tho

Try playing on a regulation baseball field here with us and watch the balls leave the park. 😂😂. 330 down the lines 385 in the gaps and 405 center field for a softball game. That’s a real field.

Small field is part of the game, manage homeruns correctly. Its hard for some people to not hit it out on accident. Run out of homeruns every hit over the wall is an out. Plus im pretty sure a lot of these dudes can hit one 390-420 pretty easily….

Some great batting and power here, but the pitching is a total dud with no noticable spin,/ change of direction at the plate, and with a overly high arch. All you have to do is deliver the minimum 6 foot arch closer to fast pitch, I dont get it. I pitch with the low legal arch with a curve, screwball, and what I call a 'rizer', a sinker, and a 'palm ball' (kinda a knuckleball)..and too many slow pitch hitters swing at out of the strike zone HIGH balls. Make the pitcher get the ball DOWN into the strike zone..E-gawds!..Robert at 69 in the senior leagues.

Bat companies have ruined the game of softball. These dudes have the worst swings I’ve ever seen hitting home runs. 5 man infield with home runs being an offensive ejection like at worlds in Orlando and these teams wouldn’t score a run. The game is in a bad bad place.
Softballs also come into play with higher core and compressions
