Another week, another video of an obscure tailback that has been forgotten by time. Of course, he is now more famous for getting prison time, but I didn't know that until after I started the video. Darren Lewis was really entertaining, but for some reason, this one was a chore to get through. As always, I hope that you enjoy the video. Feel free to tell me who you'd like to see next and all that good stuff. - Pocky -
I used to love that backfield of Richardson, Lewis and Wilson. Watching replays of the games afterwards, I'd often just watch Wilson to see who he was going to de-cleat this play, he was such a great blocking back.
He wasn't bad with the ball in his hands either! Pull up the UT & BYU games from the '90 season. He gets several nice carries in those games! BYU game was notable for how the defense just totally abused Heisman winner Ty Detmer! Both shoulders separated if I remember correctly?
My man tank was the greatest in my book. He influenced so many running backs here in oak cliff Texas. I remember he was the talk of the town as a little league player. His popularity started as a child. I went to school with him from elementary on, and this dude was nothing less than the most humble kind kool dude. He always showed me love even though we were not hanging buddies but just knew each other from the hood. I remember being on junior varsity at CARTER HIGH School and having to scrimmage against Darren and the Varsity team for practice. I so badly wanted to finally be able to claim the status that I took down the ''great'' TANK Darren Lewis. Unfortunately that task still remains unclaimed today LOL!!! The one play as I had a clear shot at him he knocked the LIVING DAYLIGHT OUT OF ME!!!! Love you homie and hope to see you back home soon!!!
thanks so much! your videos are awesome! loved tank lewis at atm! love the music tho its somehow spooky and serial killerish...but its cool ...please dont change it.
Pocket Candy !!! you are my hero !!!!! thank you for these !!!! all of these !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! some people get moved by art. i get moved by watching great runner with the ball !!! !
Plus my son has now got to watching these with me . He tends to like the guys playing now which is normal but but is starting to realize most of these guys on the videos would be beasts just as much as anyone today !! so youngins' are getting history lessons !!!! lol
It's really cool to hear that your son enjoys my videos too. The entire reason I started making these videos was so I could learn about older players. No one on youtube had made actual, in-game highlights of collegiate studs pre-2000 (aside from a smattering of channels here or there), so I decided to make my own. Eric Dickerson was the first guy I was curious about, so I made his video first. And so it began hahaha
Yeah I just saw the news on the ESPN that he passed. Unfortunately, growing up I didn’t get to view lots of A&M games. I immediately went to TH-cam to see some clips of him playing.
Also only as a suggestion, because i dont know how much effort it takes to find all the clips you do , (its amazing really !!!) but id imagine its quite a bit. If these enough stuff out there for a Gaston Green one while he was with UCLA. i used to watch him run and man could he play !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

U da man
Thanks!
Another great video. You make me remember the greats on College Football past and I truly appreciate it. Thank you as always.
I'm always happy to hear from you. Have I ever made a video that you've disliked? I want to make my videos better.
PockyCandy You have never made a video I didn't like.
Darren Lewis R.I.P
In Oak Cliff, we called him Tank.
RIP buddy 😭

Wilson wasn't a slouch with the ball in his hands either!
Played with Tank from the Cubs little League all the way to Carter High! Best tailback i have ever seen and tackled! Tank
Dallas loves Tank keep your head up boy and when you get home its on. One Love
As impressive as Lewis is, I can’t help but find myself just watching Robert Wilson the fullback here. What a masterclass in lead blocking
He was punishing those linebackers.

RIP Darren
I went to high school with this guy and he was a beast !!!!
Darren Tank Lewis was the best tailback to ever play at A&M. Such a tragedy how his life turned out due to bad choices.
I'm praying my classmate is ok .he is alright to me . keep your head up tank

u da man Pocket Candy! my goodness, Darren Lewis
Thanks my good sir!
by the way, it's Pocky Candy, not Pocket Candy.
Great vision and quick feet!
Excellent job...forgot all about Darren Lewis, he was nice though...very quick feet and explosive!
I didn't even know who he was until I saw his name next to some gaudy stats.
Robert Wilson was a stud fullback/road grader.
Indeed he was! The guy could carry the ball a little bit too.
RIP Tank!

I looked around, and I found a lot of UCLA footage available. So he will probably get a video at some point.
Rocket Ismail, please. By the way, as always you're the best at what you do. Keep doing the damn thing.
RIP
You should do Chris Johnson ECU highlights one day
Could you do a Natrone Means or Rodney Hampton video?
I've wanted to make a Natrone Means video for sssssooo long, but I've never gotten around to doing it.
