  • A compilation of some of Curt Warner's highlight's at Penn State University. Now known as the "other" C/Kurt Warner, the Penn State tailback was an electrifying runner in his heyday. He dazzled fans and confused defenses with his sudden moves and blistering speed. Warner was also the only highly-touted Nittany Lion runningback to live up to the hype in the NFL for about 30 years.
The games I used to take the clips from can be found on Stephen Barnett's youtube channel (and there were a few other channels I used as well that you can find if you look around): / sbbarnet. .

The REAL Curt Warner!!! The kid could run that rock! Very underrated and unsung! Ran for 1600+ as a rookie!

This is one of my favorite videos. It's a shame that I found 4 other games from his spectacular senior season just a few weeks ago. So if I'd made this video now, it would be much longer...

¿Who was a better Penn State running back Curt Warner, D.J. Dozier, Blair Thomas or Kenneth Leonard Carter

I honestly believe that if he wouldn't have messed up the knee Curt Warner would be HOF potential. 1449 as a rookie. missed the 2nd year. not fully back his 3rd but still 1000 yds, then a 1600 yd year his 4th but the knee started to wear down due to the initial blow out. Regardless if hes remembered or not still great to watch him run!! no one can change that ! and a GREAT guy too !!!! Thank you as always Pocket Candy !!! you are the Master !!!

Actually he never had 1600, his best year was 1481 yards, still a great season and outstanding runner.

Yeah Hawks. Warner ran with great power for a 205 guy, and really knew how to unload with those big old shoulder pads.

This is one of my favorite videos and it has hardly any views compared to other ones. Why does no one like watching Penn State running backs?

Believe me, I do! Yes, Dozier, Thomas, Carter, Cappelletti, and Enis failed to amount to much in the NFL, but so what? What they did in college was awesome. They were great! And obviously Thomas and Carter had injuries to excuse them. Anyway, Penn State also had backs who were great for various amounts of time at both levels: the amazing Lenny Moore, Charlie Pittman, Lydell Mitchell, FRANCO, Warner, Larry Johnson. Penn State had guys like Tony Hunt and Evan Royster, both of whom lack the speed to be great in the NFL but used absolutely all of their ability to be very good backs and great leaders in college ball - and I loved both of them! "We heard all that talk all week about the SEC and their speed, but we knew personally that they weren't nearly as tough as us, and you know, it showed." - Tony Hunt, 1/1/07.
If you look at their college results, Penn State's backs, historically, are as good as anyone's. And now Saquon Barkley is humiliating safeties with his shifty runs and explosive speed.
Herschel is a Walker, Warner is a RUNNER!

Aaron Rider Thank you for the amazing explanation! For me, if a player is great in college, then he deserves a video. I don't care if he was a bust in the pros, because that has no bearing on how good he was at this level. Also, those players tend to not have videos, so my video is often the only good one of that player on youtube.

Curt warner was a hell of a running back you have to wounder what could have been. If he doesn't get hurt the skies the limit. What a player.

Not only was Curt Warner a great running back, he is a great person. He & his wife have a book out that talks about their children and their struggles with their autism.

His running style is so similar to OJ Simpson's. There is a lumbering gait to his style which is deceptively fast.

He definitely was better in the NFL than college. Because think about, if he played like that in college. He would’ve been @ worst the #2 pick in the draft period. Just like Barry Sanders was #4 in the year he was drafted in which it was one of the most talented draft classes ever.

Warner and Penn State laid down one of the worst beatdowns in Ohio State history 63-14 or something like that. Ohio State never forgot that beating.
