You know its funny me and my friend played Kingdom Hearts 1 at the same time on the same difficulty, normal, when the 1.5, 2.5 remix released on xbox. I beat ansem Riku in 1 try but my friend lost to him multiple times and when he asked about how I won he acted as if the ai was broken or I got lucky. At the time I just assumed ansem riku was meant to be a breath of fresh air after dragon maleficent. In that playthrough I was never able to beat the game, but about a year later I restarted the playthrough and did 3 runs for the difficulty related achievements. 1 on normal for 100% completion where I went for the no continue and speedrun achievement, 1 on proud for the proud player achievement, and 1 on easy for the unarmored achievement. Every playthrough I still beat ansem riku in 1 try even on proud but meanwhile in every playthrough except easy, I died at least once to dragon maleficent. I dont know if I just got lucky or if I have figured something out other players havent but I never found ansem riku to be difficult.
I feel that Ansem Riku should have legit got that number 1 fight. Got SO tired of that cutscene. Then again, I don't think I've had less trouble with him on replays since my first playthrough when I was 12, so maybe it's that initial frustration talking, lol
never going to happen ever, Disney doesn't really want any square-enix owned characters in kingdom hearts anymore, and no, the original characters made specifically for kingdom hearts are 100% owned by Disney
Gilgamesh, Shinryu, and Gabranth fights would be amazing in KH, but alas the chances of that are next to 0. However, it blows my mind and saddens me that we are more likely to get a fight against Darth Vader and or Doctor Doom, than Final Fantasy characters. What a shame.

I have an older sibling who did a lot of stuff like that and I hate them now(for more than just that but it contributed for sure) don’t stand in their way on shit, you may think it’s gonna develop some sense of character or skill or humbleness or something idk, but it doesn’t, it’s just annoying. The thing that really cements Yozora as top for me is his openings. Compare him to LW for a second. LW can kill you just about as easily as Yozora. But he pauses after each attack, allowing you to get a combo or 2 in. Yozora doesn't do that. You don't passively get openings, instead you really have to interrupt his attacks and find the openings while he's doing something. It requires a level of active player participation that I don't think I've seem in another KH boss.
THIS. I spent so many of my first like 80 attempts wondering if Yozora had any openings at all. You really have to actively CREATE them by knowing how/when to stop his aggression with your own to get consistent damage. A fight that truly leverages all of the power that KH3 Sora has to offer.
THIS. Nowadays too many gaming companies are obsessed with making cinematic bosses that basically tell you when you need to dodge using giant training wheel animations and hand you openings to attack rather than making us actively earn them ourselves. Yozora is great because he doesn't do that.
I accidentally discovered magic is stupidly broken and broke the game my first run. Doing things like lethal frame, sonic blade etc takes skill and planning. But slap all fires in a deck and spam firaga and a all blizzard deck for axel and the game basically just becomes spam central.
For some reason, the main story boss that I struggled the most in the entire series was Terranort in the epilogue of Birth by Sleep where you have to beat him with Aqua. Then a lot of bosses in COM and yes, the Phantom too. Riku-Ansem in KH1 was tough. As for super bosses, I think Sephiroth in KH1, while there might be others objectively harder, back then playing for the first time I was just less used to it.
My toughest boss fight so far is the Dustflier from 358/2 Days. So much defense on top of an insane amount of HP, and he can pretty much one shot you if you get too close. Took me forever just to beat him with a hit-and-run strategy.
I saw an idea someone had that you have Thanos show up when Sora’s in the dead realm, and when Thanos snaps Sora he comes back to the land of the living.
I would love a Thanos battle. It would be cool if it was Thanos with all the Stones and his armor and sword because he was never fought with all of that. I say his armor and sword because that would represent him really fighting at his peak because him not having those in Infinity War was meant to represent him being overconfident. He was also never fought with all of the stones. Thor defeated Thanos really quickly. I always imagined that if Endgame was a Kingdom Hearts game, an alternate universe Thanos with all of those would be a secret boss lol.
Imagine if he was like a hidden super boss within the marvel world. Say he has like 10 health bars and after hours of fighting, you finally beat him. All of a sudden, he uses the time stone and gets all health back. That’d be the start to phase 2 lol
MF took a piece of my sanity that I'll never get back. You don't "beat" him as Terra. He simply let's you win, if he feels like it. And he rarely feels like it.
I'm surprised you didn't add Julius from KH DDD onto this list because the frustration I've felt from getting bodied by Julius on the 3DS and trying so hard to avoid his attacks drived me nuts.
It might be because just how easy he was to cheese via balloon, but not using that strategy I completely agree. Julius is such a pain in the ass to fight
I'll never forget playing KH1 on PS2 as a kid and getting clapped over and over by Riku(Ansem). The cutsceen having to play over and over without a skip option. While not the harderst I believe it was the one I struggled with the most. Now its no problem but I'll never forget the struggle and the dread I still feel when I hear that cutscene play.
1: Yozora. Not much to say that hasn’t been said before. With a variety of moves that don’t have a set order, speed, being able to steal items including the keyblade and no way of cheesing, he is the most difficult boss. I got the risk taker trophy from fighting the data org and Dark Inferno on Critical Mode with all Pro Codes and maxed stat boosts, but I dare not even try HIM on that level. 2: Data Dark Riku: His fast paced moves and slight unpredictability in his move set made him the hardest and most frustrating data fight. While he has more of a pattern that can be learned than Yozora, he is harder to read than any of the other data fights, making him a clear number two on my list. 3: Data Saïx KH3. While he has a clear moveset that can be learned, mastering how to dodge/block his attacks is harder due to a greater importance of positioning and the smaller windows of effective retaliation towards this absolute unit. Him being able to stun you with a few attacks adds to the importance of not getting hit even once. These may all be KH3 Re:mind fights, but they are indeed as hard as Nomura intended: soul crushing. Honorable mention to Lingering Will and Phantom Aqua, those two are no cake walks.
you know a funny thing with my experience on data dark riku is that i fought him full aggression mode. normally i would try to read bosses and also tried it with him. with of course getting killed lots of times....and then i was just "F" it and went full aggression. wich made me beat him in 2 tries. But because of that it felt real good!
No one ever mentions the Dustflier from 358/2 Days on these types of lists. That thing absolutely WRECKED me. I've never beaten it, and at this point, I don't even want to try anymore.
So, the ghost fleet gets a mention, but none of the Gummi Ship bosses even get a look-in? It gives me feeling that folks really have ignored that part of the games when there's plenty of content to discuss and nobody ever really does, especially when there's plenty of boss fights to bring up. Nothing is more soul crushing than thinking you've completed "Assault on the Dreadnought 3" in KH2, but you pass through the exit portal and haven't left the stage, only to be absolutely torn to shreds by the Hunter X and all that work getting the best score on that stage is flushed away, meaning you have to go through it aaaaaall over again in order to fight against the most powerful Gummi Heartless in the game - it's the very definition of a "That was fun, let's never do it again!" moment.
There might be some confusion about the ships - there are 3 separate secret ship bosses that can be fought: Treasure Ship, Black Ship fleet, and Phantom Ship fleet. - Treasure Ship is solo, and has gold sails and trim on the hull. Can be boarded to fight some Heartless after defeating the ship. - Black Ship has all-black sails, with one leader and two small ships. If the leader is defeated first, then one of the small ships will upgrade itself into a new leader at full health. This ship can be boarded. - Phantom Ship has tattered sails on all ships, and will teleport into the mist repeatedly. There's one leader and two small ships at a time, but the small ships respawn infinitely. Once the leader is defeated, you cannot board it, and are instead given the item rewards that normally would have come from boarding. The video seems to mix details of the Black and Phantom Ships. They're both challenging for sure, but the Phantom is definitely the harder one.
I've only truely played the first Kingdom Hearts game. I'm roughly a third of the way through Chain of Memories, but I keep vowing to myself to get through the series one game at a time. So far, the bosses I've had the most problem with are the demon from Fantasia (boss is easy, fighting the controls and camera is hard), Sephiroth in KH1, and the Alice in Wonderland boss in Chain of Memories.
I made the phantom fight much more difficult than it had to be. When I first played kh1, when I learned about the magic shortcut, I only had 3 spells, and so I thought that the magic menu in the command menu also only showed whatever spells you had mapped to your shortcut. Not realizing that I could use all of my spells from the magic menu, I went into the fight with stop, fire, and thunder as my shortcuts and basically just hoped that either the phantom didn't turn blue or, if it did, Donald would be able to hit it for me. It took me like 2 hours but i did end up besting it that way
I'm not entirely sure if counts as a boss fight, but the Dustflier in Days is so damn difficult, especially if you try fighting it the first time you go through Mission 89. It has a massive shockwave that inflicts a random effect, it's own version of Sephiroth's KH2 Meteor, and it's accompanied by Shadows that constantly spawn and will attack you if you're not moving away, not to mention the amount of times the lock on will move to one.
If we have to fight the union cross/missing link MC (It's canon that they're the same person) at some point in KH4, we are doomed, cause that character was insanely broken. -After fight in the war managed to go toe to toe against four fortellers without rest. -Humilliated Ephemer and Skuld at the same time in a 2 vs 1 battle without breaking a sweat. -Fooled 4 darknesses and laughed at their face. Not to mention that this character was the one who raised Xehanort so no wonder why h'es so op in every version he has, i hope player character returns because they were a total menace.
I just got re-mind. You I did dark Riku as a level 45 Sora. Needless to say, I was sent to a restaurant. Cause I got served. So I am replaying story mode to make a stronger Sora
Lingering will is terra without a body, a almost lifeless suit he exsists for 1 purpose REVENGE, his master zehanort took his body and betrayed him, he will kill anyone with a key blade because zehanort has 1 he is rage and pain incarnate
Weird that you got Thanos on the thumbnail like he could be a secret boss in KH4. If there was a Marvel world in KH4, then yeah it would be cool to fight him as a secret boss, ESPECIALLY if he had both the complete Infinity Gauntlet and his double-bladed sword. If Star Wars was ever officially confirmed to be a world in KH4, Darth Vader would make one heck of a secret boss for there too in the same manner.
Funny story i had in kh1 my brother was such a completionist to this game and he would play this gane for hours, he managed to defeat all of the secret bosses expect for one, the phantom. Its not because of how strong it is or how difficult it is to hit, its the time limit. Yes i know you can stop the clock to guve you more time to beat it, but for my brother, he didn't even know that he can do that. And he managed to fuckin beat it without using stopza.
1. Mysterious figure as terra 2. Yozora 3. Tie between kh1 sephiroth and lingering will MF is just such a mf ya know? Pretty much have to do some amount of cheese to win as terra (thunder surge spam moment). You can learn his combos and still just get creamed, at least with yozora and lingering will I felt like each attempt I was getting better and making progress learning their moves. With MF you can just get hard ai and get smoked right away, 4 clones each spamming different ultimate moves is just absurd. But I love this fight, my favorite in the series, felt like fighting an older sibling whose just way better than you at the game
If there's one secret hsrd battle I like to see is Gilgamesh. He is a traveler who go to many worlds fighting worthy opponents and collects weapons that are powerful. It be so epic to see him meet Sora and try to get his Keyblade which is a legendary blade after all for his collection.
Replica Riku 3 I never got passed. I was so fed up with that boss fight I used my friend's game shark (if you don't know what that is, kids, ask your siblings) to cheat. To this day I've never beaten through Sora's portion of CoM w/o cheats. Mainly because I've only ever played the game once.
As bad as Mysterious Figure is I always had more trouble with Vanitas Remnant, while Terra was the only character I needed to cheese MF with I needed to use cheap tactics with EVERYONE against VR.
When I saw Lingering Will at number 2 I was like "who the hell could top that?" Then I saw you picked Yozora. I never bothered with any of the final bosses that weren't in the vanilla games, but I've heard stories of how tough Yozora is
Ars Arcanum and Sonic Blade made Re:CoM piss easy early on, but once you got Lethal Frame, it’s literally insta death for every boss except Final Marluxia 1
Xaldin, KH2. My GOODNESS to this day I can't beat him first try and a friend of mine beat the data version because I just couldn't beat him. No other boss, not MF, not Lingering Will, not *Yozora* had me in a choke hold like.. Xaldin did. I have no idea why he's so hard for me.
I'll be honest data Xehanort gave me ptsd. My entire first run of the data organisation in kh3 was on critical mode. I decided I was not going to use kupo coins or summons. I would just straight up fight them. Little did I realise the suffering I was about to go through. I was stuck on this fight for 3 days straight. I've never struggled like that in any game before. I feel like Xehanort took it personally when I mocked him for being way too easy in base kh3 when I first fought him
My top three hardest kingdom hearts bosses are 3. Marluxia (the orb) 2. The guy in wonderland playing Riku in chain of memories 1. Terra’s fight with xanhort
3. Sephiroth because I've actually managed to beat him 2. Lingering Will... couldn't even figure out his patterns 1. Every data battle in KH3 and of course Yozora, even even attempted these for the sake of my own sanity
I remember as a kid it took me a month to beat sephiroth in kh2. that's a month of getting home from school and trying until I had to sleep! I was also too young dumb and stubborn to go xp grind so I was a pretty low level as well and knew none or the cheeses because it was 2009 lol
Data Xion, i found her harder than Saix, despite being the same attacks every single time it took so many attempts. On critical, like every data fight, most attacks put you at 1 hp. My biggest catch-up against her was her attack that hits you even when blocking. I put the game for over a year because of her. Even after having beat her, I don't feel like fighting Master Xehanort, which is my last fight before Yozora. I'll come back to KH3 eventually.
Data Luxord in KH2 specifically because I can’t get the quicktime event down. My husband does that particular part for me before I get back to opening a can of butt-whooping.
My first battle with Sephiroth on KH is so excruciating it took 6 hrs. I still lost, but in KH 2, I did better, then I do rematch until he can no longer hut me, except for the times he made my HP to 1 pts. I just need a few hits from him to recover, no item needed. My younger brother can utilize shield and I learned from him that changed my fighting approach. Then canceling input which makes Sora stronger and faster... but have not played KHIII, I am still saving for PS 4 or PS 5.
Sora v Riku in Hollow Bastion, Sephiroth in KH2, Luxord Data Battle (just including bosses I’ve beaten). Also, just really any data battle from KH3. Never been able to beat KH1 Sephiroth, The Lingering Will in 2, or Yozora in 3. Tried but never could succeed…
Data Saix in KH3 JUST finished giving me near aneurysms... his moveset is simple and easy to comprehend,, but he's just SO DAMN QUICK that one mistake and you're seeing the game over screen... I legit spent MOST OF MY MUNNY on making sure I have enough Elixers to keep my MP topped up to catch his berserker charge with blizzaga... and EVEN THEN... I won with the magic pixel after what felt like at LEAST 50+ tries... I'd take a rematch against sephiroth without the ability to GUARD than fight data saix again!!!
I 1000% agree that KH1 is the most difficult KH game in the entire series. Between the base game and secret bosses and how this game plays compared to all the others, I didn't know a lot of people also agreed.
I still have ptsd of Lingering will my poor controller square button and your right my psp was never the same after mysterious figure, I've yet to reach Yozora but from I saw it's scary AF
Julius on DDD for 3ds the game is so difficult when it comes to the 3ds screen and i felt that they changed his frames on the ps4 from the 3ds even with balloonga i had a very difficult time against him
Oh man my PSP actually got damaged during my Birth by Sleep playytrhough (but not on the outside). The fight against the MF is to this very day, 10 years later, the longest it took me to defeat a boss (god damn it, Terra). The lingering Will was a tough nut to crack, i was so close to cheesing him with Fenrir, but i beat him fair and square.Phantom Aqua was tough, although afterwards it was such a breeze to get the objectives for the normal fight. But the worst is Yozora with my ´the one time i lost´™ moment. I am still a little traumatized.
One of the hardest bosses was nintendo 3ds version of young xehanort. I didnt even know about balloon spell was broken. I died 139 times before i beat that in critical mode first time. In other version he is nerfed. True challenge for anyone out there is to try beat him without balloon on critical mode on nintendo 3ds.
When I beat dark riku in kh3 for the first time I straight blue screened and some how won to this day I’ve been trying to recreate that victory and failed every time
Haven't done remind yet, so scared of yozora tbh but I remember Lingering will and MF taking me absolutely forever! Biggest learning curve was MF because my first run of the game was with Terra. It was so much easier with Aqua and Ventus after that torture. I know I gotta do Yozora but man....
I remember the greatest MF victory came not from me, but from my roommate. We loved playing multiplayer in the mirage arena and while i typically went with ventus he stuck with terra. He didnt know about the 2 secret bosses or aqua's epilogue so when i showed it to him of course he first went into it with terra. After hours of flailing he tried the thunder surge strat to no avail. For 3 days he bashed his head against the MF before finally being so pissed he unequipped all his commands and went in with nothing. Somehow, driven by pure rage, he beasted MF in this fight without taking a single hit. He then never played the game again out of sheer fury.
The phantom in neverland for KH 1 is fairly easy as long as you equip goofy with the MP gift ability and unequip all his other moves that use MP. in fact, any fight in KH 1 where you have goofy and his MP gift ability is no problem. literally never ending MP for sora lmao
Learning sephiroth 1 and sephiroth 2 without internet and knowing what to do and when was pretty hard But i must say I didn't had much problems with repliku 4 (but I learned in monstro why zero cards are important (my most problem fight with 8 was the fight in monstro to get spilled out)
Demyx from the original Kingdom Hearts 2 and the Data Fight In Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix Was absolute HELL!!! Also if you died after defeating Demyx before reaching the cave while fighting alongside the Final Fantasy Characters You Have To Fight Demyx ALL OVER AGAIN never happened to me though but it did happen to TheGamersJoint when he was doing a level 1 Kingdom Key only Critical Run Years Ago he was unable to complete the level 1 Critical Run but he did complete it with using only the Kingdom Key It’s in 1 of his rage videos
my top 3 as a KH fan is. 1. Data Roxas from KH Re:Coded. no amount of grinding helped me and just getting through the 10 floors it takes to get to him is a slog to go through everytime. 2. Phantom from KH 1. This optional boss fight had a little too much brain power to handle when i was younger. it isnt really a problem for me now. 3. i cant actually think of one. The biggest problem is it all comes down to one simple thing. Did you grind enough before getting to the fight. Most boss fights can be easily beaten if you just grinded enough to get down to it.
I just beat Yozora tonight on critical. He was so hard but I have to agree, Siax was absolutely ridiculous. That fight is so unfair. It took me 7 hours to beat him. Yozora didn’t even take me THAT long.

I don't think there was a single KH battle, main story or post game, that I didn't feel a sense of accomplishment for beating. Some took me hours and days and weeks... But it was always worth.
my hardest bosses was sephiroth from kh2, lingering will from kh2 and dark inferno from kh3. lingering will was the only one i still never got to truly defeat. i came close on several occasions but not juice.
Fun story, i hadnt played KH1 since like, a very loooooong time, and when i picked it up in pc and streamed it to my friends who wanted to see the story and me play it for fun, well, lets just said between shit and giggles i ended up playing KH1 in Proud mode with almost no recollection of the game, also took, dead of night, grabbed strength and gave up defense

KHII Sephi: i won only because of MP Rage (i think that's the name of that skill) lol. I felt like such a cheater at the time because all my friends were complaining at that fight.
I remember spending my whole weekend just fighting saix and then spending two weekends fighting xamnas also that moment when I defeated xemnas he was destroying me and then my mp was filled again and I summoned sim a he did his atack how ever dumbs saved me and that’s how I won
Nah i still remember as a kid i got emotional damage when fighting n figuring out sephiroth bulls**t for about 15/16 times before obtaining the Fenrir. Lots of crying, giving up KH2 for awhile n got destroyed irl by mom for broken controller 😂. There still many hard bosses in all KH games but this one I always remember.
Okay, my top 3 hardest KH bosses (excluding bosses I haven't attempted) are: 3: Julias (DDD) Admitally, I don't remember much about Julius, but he was tough. The fact that he could slow down your command recovery was not cool. 2: Data Xemnas (KH3 Remind) Okay Data Xemnas might not've been the most difficult of the Data Org, but he was certainly the most frustrating. My problem with him is the nothing thorns or whatever they're called that drag you all over the place. They prevent you from blocking for about half a second, but that was more than enough to make me lose multiple times. 1) Yozora Yozora is the worst. He steals your health, he steals your items, he steals your kupo coin, he even steals your Keyblade! The most health I could take off of him was about 4 bars... I'm still suprised I was able to get that far.
I remember the amount of times i’ve died in KH2 for saix, having to hear him say his lines over and over while trying to reach for his weapons on the ground only to get smacked was NOT fun.

The worst data battle that take 30 trys to beat was lexord because i could not get my timing right and after beat him the next one that take 5 days to beat was xion
wait how about roxas in kh2fm ?? when i first fight it i yeet my controler to the monitor, like bloody hell it fast pace, aoe dmg, blink and teleport, spiny roxas like hell it really hard for me (not as hard lingering will though) but it is pretty hard
1- Yozora 2- Mysterious Figure (KH BBS) 3- Data Xaldin (KH 2, I never defeated him on crit lvl1) 4- Leechgrave (358/2, took me almost 3 hours to beat him without limit recharge spam) 5- Zexion (KH ReBirth, Riku's deck in destiny island is terrible to play around)

It’s funny how as an adult I can easily beat Riku Ansem, but as a kid I lost so many times I memorized the unskippable cutscene before the fight 😂

The thing that really cements Yozora as top for me is his openings. Compare him to LW for a second. LW can kill you just about as easily as Yozora. But he pauses after each attack, allowing you to get a combo or 2 in. Yozora doesn't do that. You don't passively get openings, instead you really have to interrupt his attacks and find the openings while he's doing something. It requires a level of active player participation that I don't think I've seem in another KH boss.
THIS. I spent so many of my first like 80 attempts wondering if Yozora had any openings at all. You really have to actively CREATE them by knowing how/when to stop his aggression with your own to get consistent damage. A fight that truly leverages all of the power that KH3 Sora has to offer.
THIS. Nowadays too many gaming companies are obsessed with making cinematic bosses that basically tell you when you need to dodge using giant training wheel animations and hand you openings to attack rather than making us actively earn them ourselves. Yozora is great because he doesn't do that.

Replica Riku definitely was a challenge. I do believe I managed due to learning Lethal Frame and oh man is that attack overpowered

I accidentally discovered magic is stupidly broken and broke the game my first run.
Doing things like lethal frame, sonic blade etc takes skill and planning.
But slap all fires in a deck and spam firaga and a all blizzard deck for axel and the game basically just becomes spam central.
Lethal Frame, Ars Arcanum, and Ragnarok carried me the entire back half of my last playthrough of Re:CoM. They're just too strong.

For some reason, the main story boss that I struggled the most in the entire series was Terranort in the epilogue of Birth by Sleep where you have to beat him with Aqua. Then a lot of bosses in COM and yes, the Phantom too. Riku-Ansem in KH1 was tough. As for super bosses, I think Sephiroth in KH1, while there might be others objectively harder, back then playing for the first time I was just less used to it.
My toughest boss fight so far is the Dustflier from 358/2 Days. So much defense on top of an insane amount of HP, and he can pretty much one shot you if you get too close. Took me forever just to beat him with a hit-and-run strategy.

I would love a Thanos battle. It would be cool if it was Thanos with all the Stones and his armor and sword because he was never fought with all of that. I say his armor and sword because that would represent him really fighting at his peak because him not having those in Infinity War was meant to represent him being overconfident. He was also never fought with all of the stones. Thor defeated Thanos really quickly.
I always imagined that if Endgame was a Kingdom Hearts game, an alternate universe Thanos with all of those would be a secret boss lol.

I'll never forget playing KH1 on PS2 as a kid and getting clapped over and over by Riku(Ansem). The cutsceen having to play over and over without a skip option. While not the harderst I believe it was the one I struggled with the most. Now its no problem but I'll never forget the struggle and the dread I still feel when I hear that cutscene play.

1: Yozora. Not much to say that hasn’t been said before. With a variety of moves that don’t have a set order, speed, being able to steal items including the keyblade and no way of cheesing, he is the most difficult boss. I got the risk taker trophy from fighting the data org and Dark Inferno on Critical Mode with all Pro Codes and maxed stat boosts, but I dare not even try HIM on that level.
2: Data Dark Riku: His fast paced moves and slight unpredictability in his move set made him the hardest and most frustrating data fight. While he has more of a pattern that can be learned than Yozora, he is harder to read than any of the other data fights, making him a clear number two on my list.
3: Data Saïx KH3. While he has a clear moveset that can be learned, mastering how to dodge/block his attacks is harder due to a greater importance of positioning and the smaller windows of effective retaliation towards this absolute unit. Him being able to stun you with a few attacks adds to the importance of not getting hit even once.
These may all be KH3 Re:mind fights, but they are indeed as hard as Nomura intended: soul crushing. Honorable mention to Lingering Will and Phantom Aqua, those two are no cake walks.
you know a funny thing with my experience on data dark riku is that i fought him full aggression mode. normally i would try to read bosses and also tried it with him. with of course getting killed lots of times....and then i was just "F" it and went full aggression. wich made me beat him in 2 tries. But because of that it felt real good!

So, the ghost fleet gets a mention, but none of the Gummi Ship bosses even get a look-in? It gives me feeling that folks really have ignored that part of the games when there's plenty of content to discuss and nobody ever really does, especially when there's plenty of boss fights to bring up.
Nothing is more soul crushing than thinking you've completed "Assault on the Dreadnought 3" in KH2, but you pass through the exit portal and haven't left the stage, only to be absolutely torn to shreds by the Hunter X and all that work getting the best score on that stage is flushed away, meaning you have to go through it aaaaaall over again in order to fight against the most powerful Gummi Heartless in the game - it's the very definition of a "That was fun, let's never do it again!" moment.
There might be some confusion about the ships - there are 3 separate secret ship bosses that can be fought: Treasure Ship, Black Ship fleet, and Phantom Ship fleet.
- Treasure Ship is solo, and has gold sails and trim on the hull. Can be boarded to fight some Heartless after defeating the ship.
- Black Ship has all-black sails, with one leader and two small ships. If the leader is defeated first, then one of the small ships will upgrade itself into a new leader at full health. This ship can be boarded.
- Phantom Ship has tattered sails on all ships, and will teleport into the mist repeatedly. There's one leader and two small ships at a time, but the small ships respawn infinitely. Once the leader is defeated, you cannot board it, and are instead given the item rewards that normally would have come from boarding.
The video seems to mix details of the Black and Phantom Ships. They're both challenging for sure, but the Phantom is definitely the harder one.
I've only truely played the first Kingdom Hearts game. I'm roughly a third of the way through Chain of Memories, but I keep vowing to myself to get through the series one game at a time. So far, the bosses I've had the most problem with are the demon from Fantasia (boss is easy, fighting the controls and camera is hard), Sephiroth in KH1, and the Alice in Wonderland boss in Chain of Memories.
I made the phantom fight much more difficult than it had to be. When I first played kh1, when I learned about the magic shortcut, I only had 3 spells, and so I thought that the magic menu in the command menu also only showed whatever spells you had mapped to your shortcut. Not realizing that I could use all of my spells from the magic menu, I went into the fight with stop, fire, and thunder as my shortcuts and basically just hoped that either the phantom didn't turn blue or, if it did, Donald would be able to hit it for me. It took me like 2 hours but i did end up besting it that way
funny enough i've never took time on the attack pattern. i just went " hit them now until he/she's pissed".
I'm not entirely sure if counts as a boss fight, but the Dustflier in Days is so damn difficult, especially if you try fighting it the first time you go through Mission 89. It has a massive shockwave that inflicts a random effect, it's own version of Sephiroth's KH2 Meteor, and it's accompanied by Shadows that constantly spawn and will attack you if you're not moving away, not to mention the amount of times the lock on will move to one.
Oh don’t forget that even once you know what to do it is still a 30-40 minute fight with 0 room for error considering it one shots

If we have to fight the union cross/missing link MC (It's canon that they're the same person) at some point in KH4, we are doomed, cause that character was insanely broken.
-After fight in the war managed to go toe to toe against four fortellers without rest.
-Humilliated Ephemer and Skuld at the same time in a 2 vs 1 battle without breaking a sweat.
-Fooled 4 darknesses and laughed at their face.
Not to mention that this character was the one who raised Xehanort so no wonder why h'es so op in every version he has, i hope player character returns because they were a total menace.

Funny story i had in kh1 my brother was such a completionist to this game and he would play this gane for hours, he managed to defeat all of the secret bosses expect for one, the phantom. Its not because of how strong it is or how difficult it is to hit, its the time limit.
Yes i know you can stop the clock to guve you more time to beat it, but for my brother, he didn't even know that he can do that.
And he managed to fuckin beat it without using stopza.

MF is just such a mf ya know? Pretty much have to do some amount of cheese to win as terra (thunder surge spam moment). You can learn his combos and still just get creamed, at least with yozora and lingering will I felt like each attempt I was getting better and making progress learning their moves. With MF you can just get hard ai and get smoked right away, 4 clones each spamming different ultimate moves is just absurd. But I love this fight, my favorite in the series, felt like fighting an older sibling whose just way better than you at the game
If there's one secret hsrd battle I like to see is Gilgamesh. He is a traveler who go to many worlds fighting worthy opponents and collects weapons that are powerful. It be so epic to see him meet Sora and try to get his Keyblade which is a legendary blade after all for his collection.
Replica Riku 3 I never got passed. I was so fed up with that boss fight I used my friend's game shark (if you don't know what that is, kids, ask your siblings) to cheat. To this day I've never beaten through Sora's portion of CoM w/o cheats. Mainly because I've only ever played the game once.
As bad as Mysterious Figure is I always had more trouble with Vanitas Remnant, while Terra was the only character I needed to cheese MF with I needed to use cheap tactics with EVERYONE against VR.
When I saw Lingering Will at number 2 I was like "who the hell could top that?" Then I saw you picked Yozora. I never bothered with any of the final bosses that weren't in the vanilla games, but I've heard stories of how tough Yozora is

Xaldin, KH2. My GOODNESS to this day I can't beat him first try and a friend of mine beat the data version because I just couldn't beat him. No other boss, not MF, not Lingering Will, not *Yozora* had me in a choke hold like.. Xaldin did. I have no idea why he's so hard for me.
KH4 will start with the Sora/Yozora fight, you lose and then when you wake up Sora has lost his abilities
I'll be honest data Xehanort gave me ptsd. My entire first run of the data organisation in kh3 was on critical mode. I decided I was not going to use kupo coins or summons. I would just straight up fight them. Little did I realise the suffering I was about to go through. I was stuck on this fight for 3 days straight. I've never struggled like that in any game before. I feel like Xehanort took it personally when I mocked him for being way too easy in base kh3 when I first fought him

I remember as a kid it took me a month to beat sephiroth in kh2. that's a month of getting home from school and trying until I had to sleep! I was also too young dumb and stubborn to go xp grind so I was a pretty low level as well and knew none or the cheeses because it was 2009 lol
Data Xion, i found her harder than Saix, despite being the same attacks every single time it took so many attempts. On critical, like every data fight, most attacks put you at 1 hp. My biggest catch-up against her was her attack that hits you even when blocking. I put the game for over a year because of her. Even after having beat her, I don't feel like fighting Master Xehanort, which is my last fight before Yozora. I'll come back to KH3 eventually.

Data Luxord in KH2 specifically because I can’t get the quicktime event down. My husband does that particular part for me before I get back to opening a can of butt-whooping.
My first battle with Sephiroth on KH is so excruciating it took 6 hrs. I still lost, but in KH 2, I did better, then I do rematch until he can no longer hut me, except for the times he made my HP to 1 pts. I just need a few hits from him to recover, no item needed. My younger brother can utilize shield and I learned from him that changed my fighting approach. Then canceling input which makes Sora stronger and faster... but have not played KHIII, I am still saving for PS 4 or PS 5.
Said was definitely tough but now that I learned his move set he can’t even touch me, same with Marluxia, xemnas, ansem and terra xehanort
Sora v Riku in Hollow Bastion, Sephiroth in KH2, Luxord Data Battle (just including bosses I’ve beaten). Also, just really any data battle from KH3. Never been able to beat KH1 Sephiroth, The Lingering Will in 2, or Yozora in 3. Tried but never could succeed…
Data Saix in KH3 JUST finished giving me near aneurysms... his moveset is simple and easy to comprehend,, but he's just SO DAMN QUICK that one mistake and you're seeing the game over screen... I legit spent MOST OF MY MUNNY on making sure I have enough Elixers to keep my MP topped up to catch his berserker charge with blizzaga... and EVEN THEN... I won with the magic pixel after what felt like at LEAST 50+ tries...
I'd take a rematch against sephiroth without the ability to GUARD than fight data saix again!!!
I 1000% agree that KH1 is the most difficult KH game in the entire series. Between the base game and secret bosses and how this game plays compared to all the others, I didn't know a lot of people also agreed.

Julius on DDD for 3ds the game is so difficult when it comes to the 3ds screen and i felt that they changed his frames on the ps4 from the 3ds even with balloonga i had a very difficult time against him
Oh man my PSP actually got damaged during my Birth by Sleep playytrhough (but not on the outside). The fight against the MF is to this very day, 10 years later, the longest it took me to defeat a boss (god damn it, Terra). The lingering Will was a tough nut to crack, i was so close to cheesing him with Fenrir, but i beat him fair and square.Phantom Aqua was tough, although afterwards it was such a breeze to get the objectives for the normal fight. But the worst is Yozora with my ´the one time i lost´™ moment. I am still a little traumatized.

One of the hardest bosses was nintendo 3ds version of young xehanort. I didnt even know about balloon spell was broken. I died 139 times before i beat that in critical mode first time. In other version he is nerfed. True challenge for anyone out there is to try beat him without balloon on critical mode on nintendo 3ds.

Haven't done remind yet, so scared of yozora tbh but I remember Lingering will and MF taking me absolutely forever! Biggest learning curve was MF because my first run of the game was with Terra. It was so much easier with Aqua and Ventus after that torture. I know I gotta do Yozora but man....
I remember the greatest MF victory came not from me, but from my roommate. We loved playing multiplayer in the mirage arena and while i typically went with ventus he stuck with terra. He didnt know about the 2 secret bosses or aqua's epilogue so when i showed it to him of course he first went into it with terra. After hours of flailing he tried the thunder surge strat to no avail. For 3 days he bashed his head against the MF before finally being so pissed he unequipped all his commands and went in with nothing. Somehow, driven by pure rage, he beasted MF in this fight without taking a single hit. He then never played the game again out of sheer fury.

The phantom in neverland for KH 1 is fairly easy as long as you equip goofy with the MP gift ability and unequip all his other moves that use MP. in fact, any fight in KH 1 where you have goofy and his MP gift ability is no problem. literally never ending MP for sora lmao

my top 3 as a KH fan is.
1. Data Roxas from KH Re:Coded. no amount of grinding helped me and just getting through the 10 floors it takes to get to him is a slog to go through everytime.
2. Phantom from KH 1. This optional boss fight had a little too much brain power to handle when i was younger. it isnt really a problem for me now.
3. i cant actually think of one.
The biggest problem is it all comes down to one simple thing. Did you grind enough before getting to the fight. Most boss fights can be easily beaten if you just grinded enough to get down to it.
Riku Replica 4 on the GBA chain of memories did the exact same thing to me. I never did beat him on the GBA.
I just beat Yozora tonight on critical. He was so hard but I have to agree, Siax was absolutely ridiculous. That fight is so unfair. It took me 7 hours to beat him. Yozora didn’t even take me THAT long.
Dark Inferno in 3 was a joke. On release the hardest difficulty was proud and the fight only lasted like 2 mins

I don't think there was a single KH battle, main story or post game, that I didn't feel a sense of accomplishment for beating. Some took me hours and days and weeks... But it was always worth.

Fun story, i hadnt played KH1 since like, a very loooooong time, and when i picked it up in pc and streamed it to my friends who wanted to see the story and me play it for fun, well, lets just said between shit and giggles i ended up playing KH1 in Proud mode with almost no recollection of the game, also took, dead of night, grabbed strength and gave up defense

Nah i still remember as a kid i got emotional damage when fighting n figuring out sephiroth bulls**t for about 15/16 times before obtaining the Fenrir. Lots of crying, giving up KH2 for awhile n got destroyed irl by mom for broken controller 😂. There still many hard bosses in all KH games but this one I always remember.

Okay, my top 3 hardest KH bosses (excluding bosses I haven't attempted) are:
3: Julias (DDD)
Admitally, I don't remember much about Julius, but he was tough. The fact that he could slow down your command recovery was not cool.
2: Data Xemnas (KH3 Remind)
Okay Data Xemnas might not've been the most difficult of the Data Org, but he was certainly the most frustrating. My problem with him is the nothing thorns or whatever they're called that drag you all over the place. They prevent you from blocking for about half a second, but that was more than enough to make me lose multiple times.
1) Yozora
Yozora is the worst. He steals your health, he steals your items, he steals your kupo coin, he even steals your Keyblade! The most health I could take off of him was about 4 bars... I'm still suprised I was able to get that far.
There is also the fact that Yozora can start the fight with his DM! Broooooo i learned that the hard way and by far the most difficult fight for me.
I remember the amount of times i’ve died in KH2 for saix, having to hear him say his lines over and over while trying to reach for his weapons on the ground only to get smacked was NOT fun.
I swear to god dude I got bodied so many times that I discovered that the only way I was going to be able to beat him is if I use the Altima form in Kingdom hearts 2 final mix
The worst data battle that take 30 trys to beat was lexord because i could not get my timing right and after beat him the next one that take 5 days to beat was xion
wait how about roxas in kh2fm ?? when i first fight it i yeet my controler to the monitor, like bloody hell it fast pace, aoe dmg, blink and teleport, spiny roxas like hell it really hard for me (not as hard lingering will though) but it is pretty hard

2- Mysterious Figure (KH BBS)
3- Data Xaldin (KH 2, I never defeated him on crit lvl1)
4- Leechgrave (358/2, took me almost 3 hours to beat him without limit recharge spam)
5- Zexion (KH ReBirth, Riku's deck in destiny island is terrible to play around)
