Watching tours 1 thru 4 is such a kick knowing what the property looks like 6 years later. It hardly looks like the same property, you and Aaron have accomplished so much.
Just watching these back because I was wondering how long you’ve been at this house now and I CANNOT believe how much it has changed in such a short time. You’ve done an amazing job. Who would have guessed it would undergo such a significant transformation.
Blast from the past!! How things and you have changed, all the improvements you've made must make your heart feel good! I had a good giggle at your bemoaning the trench mess when compared to the ongoing & past year's projects 😂 You've embraced change well 😁
Just searched for this video to see how far the property has come, and while that Is tremendous I had to laugh! At the end when you are showing the Greenhouse (formerly cold- frame) and frost free/installations, you were joking about how you did not like having the rut in your driveway while the frost free hydrant was being installed, oh if only you knew all the upheaval that would take place in 2020/2021/2022! Love it!
the "dwarf canna" you have there is actually a Banana tree. This is Ensete maurelii (Red Abyssinian Banana) and they get quite large, but are more leaves than trunk, and are, in my opinion, one of the easiest ornamental bananas to overwinter in a Frost free environment. I see these mislabeled as cannas all the time when they are small, because when they are gallon nursery pots, they look like cannas. In the late fall I top the foliage off of mine, and cut the drunk down to about half of its size and place it in my garage, then water it a couple times a month. In the spring when the Temps increase they bounce back with vigor and are more beautiful every year. Love your garden and videos!
Wooooow 😍🤓 I love your garden! It's amazing how the whole thing has been sectioned and landscaped. Like a total nerd I watch all of your videos. I love watching you do the make-overs of the flowerbeds. I also feel sorta educated afterward and I like my own flowers and arrangements so much better now when I play with textures, colors, you name it. So, thank you very much for sharing your awesomeness! 😁🤓👍
I've recently gone back to start watching all your past videos again for the second time (while keeping up with new videos of course). Just watched your video for today (July 18 2022) on trimming up the elderberry into a tree form and cutting back the collette roses. And then I watched this video. The juxtaposition of the two is so pleasing. It was fun to see you turn the corner by the barn and look back to where that west side garden will eventually be. It's kind of like stepping into a time machine to visit with your previous self.
Laura and Aaron, you have done an amazing job at upgrading and changing your gardens. I compare now and then and you are AWESOME. Your vision is inspiring !!!
Wow! Just watched all four of this first garden tour. I've been watching your more current videos since last fall, and the way your gardens have changed in just 4 years is amazing! So much lawn! Rose garden. You liked the gazebo. Versailles. Good job Laura and Aaron. Your vision is inpriring.
Wow Laura you have lots of property as it is. I'm amazed. Great video, thanks for showing us everything, love the long video showing off things. =) 🌾 Merry meet 🌿
hi!i always watch your videos.they are soo inspirational.i really appreciate the amount of hard work that you are putting in.and still find the time and patience to film all that.i love your garden tour, unboxing etc.do keep doing the good work. thanking you Sheetal
Laura, Watching some of your old videos and fun to see the differences you have made in such a short time. I also see how your plans have changed also.
the four seasons cherubs would look great in the gaura bed and you should make the side a formal cottage feel garden so you could also do tours of your yard and gardens like your parents it looks so amazing Laura !!!
Oh wow! Looking back everything is so different!! Fun seeing this back then - and wonder what the old Laura and Aaron would do different now looking back... Different locations for anything - different coop or shed areas - or plants? Would be fun to watch a new video doing the same exact tour with split screens lol... :)
I enjoyed garden tour 1through 4! In love with your property! You inspire me to get out of the city and find some land like yours and have beautiful gardens! 😍
I like your cold-frame/greenhouse. I think it's going to be great and looking forward to see it done and you filled it with plants or start planting seeds. Thanks for sharing .
Man I thought our yard was large. 😱Lol!! Wow though! It's stunning! I'm loving these tour videos! So much inspiration!! Whenever I have a garden question I always hop over to your channel to see if you have any videos that can answer first! Thanks for sharing!🌸
Laura: I really like when things are buttoned up Laura in 2021: hole in the ground and dirt piles to install a Hartley. Entire from lawn and walkways ripped out and trenches for infrastructure to connect the two properties. 😁 boy oh boy has this property, their home, evolved.
Hello love from India. My mother and I watch all of your videos and find them so relaxing. I've a request could you plz do a video on then and now to compare the gardens area wise to show the difference of how it was and what you've done with it now after 3 years. It would be wonderful... Thank you ❤
Wowza!! Love it all!! Nice looking "dwarf" canna it's the biggins of the litter!! I'm swooning over your cold frame... It will be a gorgeous greenhouse! I had a mini one last year- it was a bit of a disaster but got the job done! But you my dear seem to have scored with that beauty!! There are solar blankets that can help heat up the greenhouse too! Enjoy!
This is definitely an old video. But I'm enjoying watching what you started with and how it's evolving. I mean, lol, you and that little trench in this video and what you are going through right now 😂...so much more. I think you've grown in the acceptance of things being torn apart to reach your goal. Oh, and some areas in this video are unrecognizable to what you have now. Beautiful job!!
Garden Answer Please consider not cutting down the spent plants until late Winter/early Spring. What you are seeing as a, "mess," is where beneficial insects overwinter , lay their eggs and is also their gestation/newborn nursery. Many of these plants also feed and shelter the birds during Winter. I find mine beautiful, texture and Winter interest. No trouble to cut back in Spring. After 18 years of planting beneficials and natives, honeybees chose one of my large trees to build their home. Beautiful.
I LOVE your garden and I really wish I had enough land to be able to do some of the things you do - you are so lucky!! I wonder why you don't have water collection from the barn and greenhouse though rather than using piped water? I have a couple of water collection areas around my little garden and it feels so nice to be able to reduce the amount of mains water I use both from a cost and environmental position. If I had your garden I would definitely be looking for as many ways to collect water as I could
I combine neam oil with pyrethrin to get rid of spider mites. Sprayed my morning glory with it once and never saw them again! Also works on aphids. If you only use one or the other, it seems that they evolve a resistance. love your hedge, I would plant red and white flowers to make a pokeball :p
pepper mint oil, spearimint oil(add as many mint oils you can get),a cinnamon oil and mix with soap and water and a small amount of sugar. I know sounds strange but it works great for me for spider mites, aphids, and some fungal problems. The best part is it natural and safe for bees!
I don't think it is a canna na .It's a Banana plant.I have one don't know how I am going to bring it in the house. Love to watch your videos.Wishing you all the best for the winter.
I've just been loving the tour of your house's grounds, Laura! Thank you! I noticed the landscape fabric looks really dense! Very thick indeed! Are there different gages of landscape fabric? If so, what gage did you use to place under the rock in and around your Green house cold frame structure?
Whenever I get my own farmhouse I hope to get a greenhouse. Hopefully, if I get a greenhouse I can put all my tropical or warm environment plants in there. Plus I can make a little relaxing area where everyone can just come in and sit, talk, study, or read.
true :3 I live with a great guy, but we are in a tiny apartment with a shady balcony. He has a tiny greenhouse, and we're trying to brainstorm an inconspicuous spot to place it. I think it will be a great step towards one day having and maintaining a nice big one :) Offer to grow winter crops to help convince your parents :P
Here's what I've used to control a mild infestation of spider mites: Mix 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (white vinegar is fine too) with 1 cup of water, 1 t of baking soda & a few drops of Dawn dish soap into a spray bottle. Test on plant May add more water for tender plants
Loved the tour and your land is beautiful. Oh no, not a daylily fan (LOL)... I guess I love them because they are drought tolerant and bloom the entire summer. I'll be bringing my "secret garden" back to life this spring and searching for mostly flowering shrubs that bloom spring, summer until first frost.... So far, I'm thinking hydrangeas and rose bushes... Any tips would be greatly appreciated. My latest video shows a quick tour of how it looks now... Have a great weekend...:)
Love, love the new place! Two things I don't remember seeing are azaleas and camellias. Are you just not fond of them or do they not grow well in your area?
Watching tours 1 thru 4 is such a kick knowing what the property looks like 6 years later. It hardly looks like the same property, you and Aaron have accomplished so much.
That's what i'm doing haha. It's great seeing the changes
Same lol
I was just thinking the same thing, what a transformation!
Watching this in 2024. Very interesting to see "the neighbors basketball court" You have come a long way Laura, but you are still you. Love that
OMG, I'm laughing so hard!!! It is so fun to go back and watch these old videos and see all the foreshadowing!!
Wow what a difference now its incredible
I can't believe that I have been watching your channel for 6 years every single day .
YT randomly threw this video up for me, it’s like watching home videos of your family and laughing, sighing, commiserating over memories together ❤
Just watching these back because I was wondering how long you’ve been at this house now and I CANNOT believe how much it has changed in such a short time. You’ve done an amazing job. Who would have guessed it would undergo such a significant transformation.
I’m doing that right now in 2022 haha same reason, wanted to see the begginings of this gorgeus garden
@@daniludeEVERYTHING in the yard has changed.
2024 has seen even more amazing changes and new properties purchased. Just an inspiration for me in my own garden.
You have come so far in such a short time... from that to what you have now is remarkable. So much work. ❤
Blast from the past!! How things and you have changed, all the improvements you've made must make your heart feel good! I had a good giggle at your bemoaning the trench mess when compared to the ongoing & past year's projects 😂 You've embraced change well 😁
I love that you’re in this video wanting to buy the lots & you come to own another lot now.
Love love love these old videos ❤❤❤

Love it!
Watching this in June 2022 and it is crazy how much they have done! So many wonderful improvements
That arbour gate is beautiful so French .previous owner seemed very artistic with topiary.
I'm dying laughing at the anxiety over the trench.... knowing what is coming for your property! 😊
it's so funny that watching these first garden tours 1-4 is kinda bitter sweet....so much was beautiful then and just amazingly beautiful now!!
I must say, You are living an Amazing Life. ☘️🌿🌴👍🏻
I love her Garden Tours!! 😄💚
Binge watching all the old garden tours. Obsessed with your garden

Laura you are so awesome and your gardens are to die for! :)
Wooooow 😍🤓 I love your garden! It's amazing how the whole thing has been sectioned and landscaped. Like a total nerd I watch all of your videos. Beautiful property. Great garden. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the new neighbors! 😬
it was great to see the “before” South Garden property 😉

I love everything about your new home ❤️really beautiful. But i would love to see how your house looks on the inside 😊 i bet its gorgeous 😊
I love your house and gardens. I am going to slowly work my way through all of your videos and I am looking forward to seeing more.
For the pots in the driveway I recommend citrus! It will attract bees looks great and produces food. 😉
Wow! Just watched all four of this first garden tour. I've been watching your more current videos since last fall, and the way your gardens have changed in just 4 years is amazing! So much lawn! Rose garden. You liked the gazebo. Versailles. Good job Laura and Aaron. Your vision is inpriring.
Just to think of how your garden looks now.. this is amazing!
it would be great to see a nighttime garden tour with the holiday lights.😁
Love your garden so much!
It is amazing how much you transforned it in the past year since these were filmed
Fun to see these tours. So many changes now & even more coming soon. 💥
Wow Laura you have lots of property as it is. I'm amazed. Great video, thanks for showing us everything, love the long video showing off things. =)
🌾 Merry meet 🌿
I think it would be nice to cut out large stars around the urns and the urns would be in the middle. Just a idea. Beautiful yard by the way. ☺
love love love your property! huge space to fill with kids! lol.... that's an amazing greenhouse, just amazing! can't wait to see it all done😊
After seeing everything they have done in 4 years it's crazy to think this is even the same yard!

Was this farm land in previous decades? There is so much land. So open and beautiful and so much for you to work with and plant beautiful flowers.
Oh wow! Looking back everything is so different!! Fun seeing this back then - and wonder what the old Laura and Aaron would do different now looking back... Hairspray!!! ACTUALLY works on spider mites. I use it for my orchids and its gold!! You have a large area, but still thought you would like to know!
You are such an inspiration 😍😍❤
I combine neam oil with pyrethrin to get rid of spider mites. Sprayed my morning glory with it once and never saw them again! Also works on aphids. If you only use one or the other, it seems that they evolve a resistance.
love your hedge, I would plant red and white flowers to make a pokeball :p
One year my husband torn out my August clematis just before it bloomed. I was livid
Love your ideas!
Can you show us next season how you trim and train your spiral topiary please ?
pepper mint oil, spearimint oil(add as many mint oils you can get),a cinnamon oil and mix with soap and water and a small amount of sugar. I know sounds strange but it works great for me for spider mites, aphids, and some fungal problems. The best part is it natural and safe for bees!
your dwarf canna is actually a banana tree (enste ventricosum maurelli)
It would be great if you did an orchard in that huge grass area by the garage.
Love your place!
Great tour!
I don't think it is a canna na .It's a Banana plant.I have one don't know how I am going to bring it in the house. Love to watch your videos.Wishing you all the best for the winter.
I agree it did look like a darn banana plant LoL! I thought it was at first.
I love your style
love your video
I've found that Neem oil works on spider mites
Pretty!!
for the spider mites you should try hairspray
I've just been loving the tour of your house's grounds, Laura! Thank you! I noticed the landscape fabric looks really dense! Very thick indeed! Are there different gages of landscape fabric? If so, what gage did you use to place under the rock in and around your Green house cold frame structure?

they make tiny greenhouse's that are perfect for small spaces
K.C. Sealey I may do that. I still live at home with my parents, but I hope to have a huge one when I marry and get my dream home.
true :3 I live with a great guy, but we are in a tiny apartment with a shady balcony. He has a tiny greenhouse, and we're trying to brainstorm an inconspicuous spot to place it. I think it will be a great step towards one day having and maintaining a nice big one :) Offer to grow winter crops to help convince your parents :P
K.C. Sealey Hah nah, my greenhouse will essentially be my own haven. When people ask where I am my family will just reply, "She's in the jungle."
its so beautifull
You should plant hedge to cover new neighbors lot.
Here's what I've used to control a mild infestation of spider mites: Mix 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (white vinegar is fine too) with 1 cup of water, 1 t of baking soda & a few drops of Dawn dish soap into a spray bottle. Test on plant May add more water for tender plants
woooooow Laura!!😊
hahaha $250,000 wouldn't get you a one bedroom apartment in Melbourne, Australia. You're soooooo lucky!!!
Cinzia De Luca ... a year later $400,000 ... would be more like it 😂🙄
so fun to see how much things have changed... ^_^
use Abamectin pesticide , it's really great with mites
Loved the tour and your land is beautiful. Oh no, not a daylily fan (LOL)... I guess I love them because they are drought tolerant and bloom the entire summer. I've heard hair spay is a spider mite killer
Day Lilly flowers are edible and sweet like snow peas
The roots are suppose to taste nutty
how would you plan out a shaded garden? Planning out our yard.... love your videos!
u have my dream house!!
